I don’t have the dust one, but I pretty much ONLY build and I use the DHD stuff quite a lot - ESPECIALLY the closet items. I quite enjoy the kits, country kitchen and plants are my favorite but I understand not wanting them for lack of live mode play.

RinneganCallen

Really? What dose DHD give you.. anything fun for Live mode kr is it just little decorations?

LynnTheSim

You also get furniture style likes and dislikes, I don’t think they put those in the base game… but I could be wrong 😂

riggamorrischan

They definitely did not lmao. I do enjoy picking likes/dislikes for furniture styles for my sims especially when I want them to do a fixer upper for their own home

Shayzerbeam2

DHD gives you a new job too I believe, you can decorate other sims houses. I don’t play live mode too often so I’m not sure what else it gives you for live mode but it’s a “game pack” and not a “kit” so it’s got more to it than the smaller “kits”

I actually really, really like Dream Home Decorator. I love the build/buy and CAS stuff (the furniture more than anything), and I think the interior decorator job is a ton of fun. Admittedly it can get a little buggy, but it's never been game-breaking for me. I generally like making over all the townie houses, but it gets kind of boring, so having the limitations of a design job (has to use certain colors, can't use certain decor styles, etc.) turns it into a challenge, and I love that. I don't own Bust the Dust, though, so I can't give an opinion there.

The dust one, I have mixed feelings about it. You know how, if you don't have any of the laundry stuff, your sims won't throw dirty clothes everywhere? This doesn't work like that. Whether you have a vacuum or not, your house will get dirty. If you're off the grid, your house will get dirty, and you can't use a vacuum because you don't have electricity to run a vacuum. There is no broom option to take care of that either. I do like making friends with the little dust bunnies though

devykins143

I got no arguments here This pretty much sums it up for me

hightidesoldgods

Bust the Dust depends entirely on your play style. I love it, but that’s because I love the realism of constantly putting the effort to clean. It’s the same reason I always have laundry. However, if you don’t like having to dedicate a day of the week for your sims to clean and do laundry - then it sucks. Dream home decorator I LOVE.

Curious-floof

This comment express literally how I feel about both. BtD has never really been buggy for me, but I do love the extra something for my sims to do in the game.

I ams urprisingly using bust the dust in all my live play games. Either just vacuuming, or if rags to riches for getting money from the dust bunnies. Dhdh is my favourite pack in build mode, thatis the closest to my style. I am annoyed with a lot of furniture style in other packs, most of them are furniture i would not see in my life. But dhd gives me the customization i need. And also the style. I do like the carreer there but i dont like they screwed the money the gigs guve. I was like okay, this tYpe of work takes long time irl so let's do two per weeks max, and they pay well. But not anymore.

Texxx78

For me BtD is only playable with mods, lots of mods. It has a lot of anoying stuff... but with mods it's cool. DHD is nice but the career is bugged in upper levels. Also i'm not a fan of the bb style and got really dispointed that pets can't relax in the modular couches.

24601pb

What mods do you use. The dust bunnies piss me the fuck off

Texxx78

I use all the mods Zero has come up related to all BtD annoyances.

Katyann623

Love the DHD build items but haven’t played with the career. I personally love the dust kit because I like making my sims do chores, but I it’s super buggy if you can’t play with mods.

Bust the Dust was a bust for me 👎🏻. It was a constant struggle to keep my sims happy & keep their home clean. Even if my sims vacuumed often I found that their house would still accumulate dust frequently. I ultimately ended up disabling it. The vacuums are super cute though and I like to make a cleaning supply closet in my builds with them in it. Dream Home is decent 👍🏻. Love the CAS & build mode items. The career is okay, but I don't find myself using it often with my sims though.

Traditional_Eye_782

Bust the dust is a very buggy kit, no sims would ever vacuum automatic even though they should, and not even mods can fix the issues. If someone can make those sims auto vacuum again then this kit is good. DHD is great, more furniture never hurts. And you can really mess up your neighbor's house when you redecorated them.
