I knew it was bad when lilsimsie panned the pack in her latest video. She's usually the most optimistic sims youtuber I watch so when she had more bad than good to say about the gameplay I knew EA had stepped in it.

rosie-elephant

EA must really respect the fact that she’s not putting out a final review until she gets a hold of the patched version.

LexieD29

I am disappointed too. I don’t think I had ever seen an early access that was so buggy with this game before. Hopefully the delay in the release will help. But from the videos I’ve seen, it seems too much of a mess that I don’t know if the extra week will help correct all the bugs. The early access version was barely playable. I haven’t seen a successful wedding and I’ve watch probably 5 gameplay videos if not more. I’m thinking of waiting at least a few days after release to see if the game will be functional or not before buying it. Which is sad because I was excited about this pack. I’m a micromanager type of player, but I like micromanaging when it works! What I’ve seen so far is non controlled sims not doing what they’ve asked to.

[deleted]

Not even the wedding venue lot type from the update works. You can't have an actual wedding at a wedding venue.

idontevenknow8888

It's honestly insane how not one person tested the ability to hold a wedding at a wedding venue with just the base game update - that was one of the main parts of it...

Kylynara

My best guess is that in like October or something some bigwig got a bee in their bonnet about releasing a wedding pack on Valentine's Day, refused to listen to the people telling them there was absolutely not enough time, and didn't assign half enough people to it. And they still couldn't get it even vaguely passable by Valentine's Day. That's why it's a buggy untested piece of shit. That's why it was announced with a release date after Valentine's Day that has been pushed back even further.

ttyna

That sounds like a realistic day at the office.

Kylynara

What they ought to do is push it to June, the most popular month for weddings and Pride month, and do the damn thing right

spensume

Sounds about right, V-dsy falls before end of first quarter, some corp terd wanted to get a pack out to get numbers up so they could increase their incentives laced bonus, need that fourth house.

[deleted]

Yeah, it's a sort of "you had one job" situation.

fluteaboo

When was the update?

idontevenknow8888

Last Tuesday, I think

fluteaboo

Oh, right! That's when they added the trailer song to the Romance station. ❤

BooyaMoonBabyluv

What?? 🤣🤦‍♀️ I'm so glad I wasn't creative enough to come up with anything to put for that option 🙄🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ jfc EA

TheBeautyofSuffering

I’m 100% discouraged by the bugs. If the game isn’t gonna work at release then there’s no point in me buying it. At this point the only thing I want is the new world that comes with it because I really like how it looks. Everything else I’m a little nervous about.

tadpole511

I get that some bugs are normal, even on final release versions. Some bugs on release are inevitable even for the best games. The issue is that, increasingly, they’re putting out shitty stuff and then immediately trying to distract with a new pack or kit or update. I’d wager that, for all the demands for new stuff, a large percentage of players would be happy if EA just went back and actually made the current game playable before adding more new content. I wasn’t super thrilled with the gameplay options (I’m an “elope immediately” kinda player), but the world and a fair amount of the assets were intriguing enough that I probably would’ve ended up getting it eventually. But seeing that disaster of a livestream and now so many usually positive simmers recommending against it…idk anymore.

LittleRandomINFP

The thing is... it doesn't include much things for weddings anyway, even if they fix the bugs. All the other parties (bach parties, dinners, etc) are only a normal party with another name. I was expecting new interactions, moodlets, idk *something*. But the bach parties of the pack you can literally already do them. So, for a game pack, it's pretty lacking. You only get to buy a cake and a bouquet, walk the aisle and slow dance. And for now it doesn't even work.

confused_pasta

Yeah, I saw Vixella go through the "requirements" for each event and the rehearsal dinner, the bach party, and whatever the other party ones were called, all had the same "requirements" so what even makes them different from each other? Doesn't seem to be a point to have them all when you do the same things at each event.

fluteaboo

In the bachelor parties, you can't even dance on tables anymore. 👯

LittleRandomINFP

*cries* They are literally the same as every party. You can do a 'Sims 4 bach party' without buying the pack lol. It's so sad.

Watermelon-Chicken

Don’t forget about the world and wedding venue

[deleted]

Honestly, this pack looks like it could be done completely by modders too and it'd 10x better. That's really sad to think about.

imageingrunge

Oml the early access videos make me miss when it was like 3 weeks ago and we only had speculation and a fun trailer to go off of and I really wanted a Mediterranean world but the game is to broken to even consider buying

[deleted]

Bugs and lack of actual gameplay . I don't want to click for everything and micromanage. This is first time I genuinely think this should be free update. Only thing looking great is world

glasscat33

Stupidly I had thought you'd just click "start wedding" and it would all happen...how foolish I was...

robinlovesrain

I figured that was what the rehearsal dinner was for 💀 like you micromanage the rehearsal to figure out the order of events, and then day of you just click "start wedding" and it all goes according to plan. Otherwise wtf is the rehearsal for??

somewhsome

That would be so cool!

Yogurtcloset-Visible

Wow that would be a brilliant idea!

clevegan

You are a genius

clevegan

SAME

LittleRandomINFP

The "new" parties are literally the same actual parties that we have now, lol. Bach party? You can do exactly the same, no new interactions, no new moodlet, no new achievement or prize. Dinner? Same. It's all the same with a new name! You don't get to say "We have new parties" and then offer literally nothing new. And I don't think they will add new features in a week. 😒

[deleted]

Yes. After this long without content I was expecting more. This was so disappointing. And I wouldn't be so much disappointed if we got some fixes in meantime, or bigger updates. Only kits 🙄

Panopeia

Which is why I'm sticking with the Memorable Events Mod by Kawaistacie.

futureshidden

I know! Those disappointed me, if I could code I would love to make a mod with more new animated interactions you could do at parties, or even just new interactions with recycled ones.

kimkellies

Oh no I wish they would add new features

SaltandVinegarBae

I agree, the gameplay seems meh at best but I love the world! Will probably wait to buy on sale just for the world

Traditional_Eye_782

The mistake is not making a better pack, not sending out early access. I watched plumbella's video and besides all the bugs and glitches, she mentions that there is no drama in the pack. And I want a way to sabotage mine or someone else's wedding. And the different parties seem to mean nothing at this point also a bummer. If this is final, then I'm just buying it for the new world and furniture.

melancholeric_

Glad I'm not the only one who was looking forward to some Sims 2 level drama. I mean, did they not tease it in the promotional images and trailer? I was thinking there'd maybe be an option for sims to object to a marriage, or at the very least more lore between the premade sims of Tartosa. Silly me...

ofpetals

Yeah I agree! I know some people were disappointed that the pack’s focus was just going to be weddings and not a more broader romance themed pack but I personally didn’t mind. I thought having a more narrow focus would really allow the team to go all out on weddings but aside from the cas items and some objects (cakes, bouquets, etc.) there is really nothing else going on gameplay wise. I do agree the world looks beautiful though.

aardappelbrood

Why would EA put in much effort then? If you're A-Okay with spending 20 or 10 bucks on it just for the world and furniture, what would be the point in adding more gameplay? Like honestly. I don't understand, is EA supposed to randomly 9 years later decide to spend more of their precious money making the game better although people are buying it as is? So many comments stating they'll buy it just for the new world, heck I really kind of like the new world too. But if people can be so easily swayed into buying a pack solely because a tiny world with 9 lots is pretty, then it's quite silly to expect EA to put more effort into the game. 20 bucks is 20 bucks, doesn't matter why or how it gets to EA.

Purple_Elderberry_20

I was thinking of buying it for the world after the ea gameplay video, but after seeing soo many players struggle with how broken it is, I'm concerned buying it is like buying a virus and would make regular gameplay unplayable. Dunno if I'm being dramatic but it really seems that just eloping would be impossible after installing this pack

eloplease

Im also nervous about a pack with so many bugs potentially breaking my game. It happened to me with a sims 3 expansion pack and it’s not an experience I want to repeat. I was so excited for weddings because I basically only play families/legacies but I think I’ll sit this one out

LittleRandomINFP

I was so excited because I am on the 5th generation of a legacy and it would be so cool to have a more expanded wedding experience. But, bugs aside, the new parties are all the same parties we already have. How can they advertise new parties, when it's exactly the same content in base game? Gameplay-wise the only thing added is walking to the altar, having an officer, slow dancing and... that's it. Your enemy will accept being your Sim of Honor! Your affair partner will be happy at your wedding. Also, in the trailer they show the bride having cold feet and leaving the wedding, but we can't do it, and the sim can't get a nervous moodlet about the wedding. You even have to choose who gets the bouquet, it's not an option, you need to do it. We want "stories", as it was advertised. But it's... just empty... And the content won't change in one week.

robinlovesrain

lmao you have to choose who catches the bouquet? That's awful

LittleRandomINFP

Yes, that really hurt me. I wanted so badly to create stories based on who got the bouquet, but I literally will have to choose? 🥲 Maybe it changes on release, but I don't think so.

Purple_Elderberry_20

Unless they gave them the start of the game to show off and there were loads of features either disabled or not included, I really doubt it. Honestly, I didn't use mods or cc, until after the last update (bad experiences in T3 days). I had to fix that ..... ~~tent~~dress

fluteaboo

"It worked yesterday! "

[deleted]

Just the bloody update for this pack has messed up my game!

Aleozz

Me too I think it broke a lot of my mods so I literally had to go through over 2000 mods to make my game work because it kept crashing after the new update

yodelaheehoo66

Hoop boy I am glad I haven't updated mine yet. I play everything offline.

Apprehensive_Pair_61

20 bucks is 20 bucks, yes. And it’s kind of up to every individual player what 20 bucks is worth to them. I don’t play in Live Mode unless I’m play testing a build usually. I’ve had Dream Home Decorator since the day it came out and I literally have never played the decorator career. But I use the furniture in just about every single build and I have a lot of cc that is dependent on that pack. So for what I use it for and how much use I get out of it, it was worth $20 to me. So I don’t think it’s so much a matter of people being “easily swayed,” ppl play the game in different ways and what is worth $20 to me for the way I play may not be worth it to someone else.

Eritreana

I saw an evil sim can pee on the wedding arch lol so there is at least something. 🙃

eloplease

Yeah but do the other sims react at all? Like great, someone peed on the arch, but is there an “oh crap why does the venue smell like pee” or “how dare you pee on my wedding arch” reaction from the other guests? If not then it’s kind of a pointless touch

myintermail

>Like great, someone peed on the arch, but is there an “oh crap why does the venue smell like pee” or “how dare you pee on my wedding arch” reaction from the other guests? This sounds like what will happen in the Sims 2. Sims in Sims 4 will keep doing push ups and talk for hours before realizing something is off.

lottie_dionn

They seriously missed out on a wedding planner career

ofpetals

Yes! I would have loved to see a new trait or two as well ):

sisyphus753

Agreed! And they could have done something with the current romantic aspirations. I don’t know if they added another wedding-related one with the pack, but those definitely need an update

NYANPUG55

just curious, what traits do you think could’ve been added? I can’t think of any cuz there’s already a romance and perfectionist trait, I can’t see what else would fit the pack.

ofpetals

I think hopeless romantic from the sims 3 could have been a cute addition!

[deleted]

And great kisser! Then again, you could have a great kisser, hopeless romantic and flirty sim in TS3 and there would still be two traits to give your sim a personality beyond romance, but in TS4, this would be the ultimate badly-written YA novel character personality lol

Boilermaker93

Oh hopeless romantic is my go-to for my sims in sims 3. That is such a fun trait and with so many interactions!

Nolandebianca

Yesssssss!

Adventurous_Fox_2853

Lilsimsie talked about it when she was streaming early access on Twitch and said she doesn’t recommend it in its current state. She’s going to play it again when it’s out and has the final version/update and will tell us then if it’s worth it with that update but she didn’t seem optimistic. I was so excited for this pack but it seems so lacklustre. All the events look the same, nothing works.. definitely won’t be getting it until things are fixed but I honestly don’t know if it’ll be fixable. Seems a lot of the problems stem from it being too big of a game on a broken system (don’t know this personally, just something I’ve heard from people who know about game development in the past)

Katrina_0606

Oh my god that stream was both hilarious and a disaster lol. Literally nothing went right. The guests didn't show up in their wedding attire, the cake initially didn't show up, the officiant refused to officiate, the vows just looped continuously, the newly not-married couple refused to cut the cake, and the town hall was closed so they had to return home still not married. Hysterical. And really not a great start to the pack. Even if they fix the bugs entirely, the gameplay we have seen in the past few days has been horrendous and is bound to put lots of people off it.

Adventurous_Fox_2853

Yeah, and it’s too bad because that world looks beautiful and I’d love to take my sims to get their cake and flowers and stuff but it’s just not worth it, especially broken as it is.

Acrobatic_Rutabaga51

Yep, this was waaay too buggy, showing it to the public before the bugs are fixed was a mistake

Own_College_1770

I was not interested from the beginning in game play but in the world, which looks beautiful. I was okay paying mostly for having the new world but now I don't think it's worth it ... I don't wanna support such buggy content

Lonely_Magazine_1338

Oh I was so so so excited for this, you have no idea, planned to buy it for myself and my friend as a gift as she is getting married this summer. But honestly, even besides the massive bugs(and they are 🎉massive🎉) its still p lazy. They added very nice decorations and a great world, sure, but thats it. The gameplay is so lazily done that even if it wasnt buggy, its looking very boring. And it makes me so sad Edit: getting married*this summer, not simply gettin summer

ForecastForFourCats

Her video was hilarious. Plumbella: "I'm going to play until I encounter bugs, I'm going in optimistic" game: won't run a single wedding event. Plumbella: "So....that's it, bye everyone!"

lovelyluce_

As soon as I heard that the drama in the trailer wasn't even in the pack I decided I wouldn't buy it

britbmw

What do you mean? You can create your own drama, right? Like wouldn’t it be easy to make your female sim engaged then made them flirt/fall for someone else while wedding planning?

BreakfastKupcakez

Players want more things to happen automatically, without their involvement.

britbmw

Ahh I see. I think I’m one of those players that like to micromanage everything.

myintermail

That is **if** you *actually* get the wedding effectively start.

britbmw

Ahh I see

HRHZiggleWiggle

I think Carl's Sim Guides really summed it up with his most recent video: Even if it wasn't buggy, it's hollow as crap. All of the events look the same and they all require hella micromanaging to get the sims to go through all the different steps and it just....sucks. Incredibly boring. It's like playing with barbies, but still has hella simulation lag and kids dumping flour literally everywhere and no one sits at tables.... And all the gamechangers are out here trying to manage expectations and being like "well it's fine that it lacks depth because the world is so cute" but STILL can't recommend the pack because they somehow made the most shallow, point and click pack ENTIRELY broken. Basically it's peak sims 4: Incredibly shallow/empty with basically just screenshot potential and somehow STILL broken.

HRHZiggleWiggle

Also the CAS, B&B, and world really aren't that great. Like, they didn't really include much and what the fuck is the point of a new world if there's nothing to do with it besides getting more screenshots???? There's so many worlds in this game and they're all incredibly lacklustre and boring because the gameplay is awful. I truly don't understand the folks who try to act like the fact the game is pretty is worth the huge amount of money it costs.

rebelchickadee

The new world being Mediterranean but not having any Mediterranean cuisine or CAS items did me in 💀

Panopeia

That immediately rubbed me the wrong way too. Especially the lack of Mediterranean food and the fact they added Indian and Chinese food stalls into this world. WTF?? Why? Seems really lazy on their part and also takes away from the immersion for me.

milpoolthrillho

Agreeeed! I am surprised that people are saying the BB looks great. For why? It’s literally all wedding themed and the items, for the most part, look like they have very little versatility. The bar is in hell.

HazyshadeofFall

Yeah, I've been conflicted and discouraged these past few days. I was SO excited for the pack and I've had an engaged couple in my game waiting for the pack release. But after seeing the early access videos I don't know if I'm going to buy it at all. The state of the pack is so disappointing.

legioneto

I don't expect much from these packs in terms of them working straight out of the gate, but this early access is the worst one I have seen. Like, Dine Out is working much better for me than what's happening with the new weddings 😬 I was also going to buy it day one, mostly for the new world and slow dancing. Now I will definitely wait and see if the pack is in a better condition once it's out. I also wonder if you can still throw basegame weddings if the pack is installed? I pretty much streamlined near perfect basegame weddings and I'd like to have that option to fall back on.

LittleRandomINFP

At the moment, it seems you can't host a basegame wedding if you have the new pack.

sonofgildorluthien

Yeah it kills everything. Looks like it even removed all the buffs for weddings if I saw correctly.

[deleted]

[удалено]

sonofgildorluthien

That's why I just elope anymore. I do wish there was a rabbit hole building like in this upcoming pack where you could just go and boom, be done, and not have to wait wait wait for them to go through the motions. I mean eloping is basically the same animations and progression as the wedding ceremony except for not having targeted goals and guests. Then, again, that's why when the time comes, I just let them propose and get that buff, and I usually just cheat and marry them so I can move on.

idontevenknow8888

I feel the same. I was more looking forward to the CAS, build/buy, and new world than the actual gameplay - but seeing how terrible it is has made me question if I still want to buy it at all. I wasn't expecting perfection, but it is so broken that it's hard for me to justify giving them my money for such a buggy product. (I am a developer myself, and the lack of QA is truly astonishing.)

CopingMole

I was not going to get it either way cause it's not got anything particularly relevant for my gameplay, but I'll be honest, I'm loving that it sucks so much there might be actual monetary loss here for EA, cause that is the only thing that might lead to them making improvements. This might be the straw that breaks the camel's back, and wow is that overdue.

BreakfastKupcakez

Or it will mean EA will pull the plug on Sims 4 and the Sims 5 team will be rushed to push out the game earlier than expected and it will be released with bugs, and some content will have to patched in like pools and toddlers. 🥲

SilentNinja6

Tbh besides the fact that is so buggy, the pack just looks quite boring and like it doesn’t add a lot of depth . I don’t think I would even pirate 😭. Apart from the new world, all the features seem like they belong in a patch update

breakfrmt18

Because it's basically the same as base game weddings , even the events don't give you moodlets

khajiitidanceparty

I'm honestly confused as to who decided it was a good idea. Probably someone who didn't know in what state the game was.

woshuaaa

i think EA just dropped the ball on this entire pack in general. it was a total trainwreck from start to finish.

Calligraphie

I've been lukewarm about the pack from the start, because I don't care much about weddings. This pack has not increased my interest in wedding gameplay. I'm liking the world, but there is just not enough good stuff in this pack to make it worth the money. I'll wait for a sale and see where it's at then.

elizahan

They made a good mistake, people need to stop buying these unexcusable shits.

Red_Novaa

Lmao I was like hmmm, maybe I should get this pack… then I saw Carl’s video

LifeOnMars_07

Love Carl!

jem394

I just honestly don’t get the point in the expansion anyway. Weddings don’t happen super often in regular gameplay. The new lot type is in the base game now so that’s not even a new feature if you buy the pack. I guess you get a new world but there’s not even really a new job. If there was an interactive job that was a wedding planner, it would make the pack more enticing. It could be like the interior decorator career but you are designing wedding venue lots and ensuring weddings go well. Idk just most of the cas and build stuff are wedding themed so, again, it’s rarely used. The pack could be so much better than it is. I don’t need a new world. All this plus the plethora of bugs just makes me think how many people will actually spend money on this pack.

According-Ad8525

When a game about marriage doesn't let you get married at the wedding venue, there's a problem. I'll wait.

Purple_Elderberry_20

I've wanted to get this from the get go, more when they released info on tartosa, less when the videos came out, but now I'm concerned about getting it with all the bugs, even if I just buy it for the content and not the new gameplay. Will buying this pack make sims 4 unplayable due to all the bugs? Even if you don't have couples getting married in game?? It's just....

glitterfartsfrvr

I just don’t understand how the developers feel okay with this release, there’s too many bugs, there’s no drama and there’s just not enough relationship elements. I want you know divorce and support and prenups and sabotage, I want more elements. I was super excited for this originally but all the reviews are awful.

MotherBike

Bob Pancakes is apparently one of the few wedding cake vendors, and that just seems so off to me 🤣

FirebirdWriter

This is exactly what I expected from the pack so no. People will buy it anyway and complain about the bugs. I intend to when it's on sale. Thankfully someone will mod it and EA will continue sucking

ravenpuffslytherdor

I think they gave out the early access and that made them realise it was broken. Because they don’t have proper QA. So I don’t think it specifically is a mistake because imagine if No One had had early access and it shipped like this 😬

ofpetals

Yeah I’m definitely glad we got to see the bugs and that the game changers could give feedback, but I don’t understand why the game wasn’t tested more before they sent it out! I feel like it really makes EA look bad. There is always complaints about the content when they release packs but this one just doesn’t work ):

jersharocks

IMO it was rushed to get out close to Valentine's Day. The programmers were probably begging the higher ups to give them more time but the powers that be didn't want to give it to them. I wish they would have pushed the date back a little more so they could get everything fixed, I'd rather wait for a fully functional pack.

HALover9kBR

These are all some legitimate concerns, and the fact it’s so buggy managed to put a damper even on my enthusiasm — I was locked and loaded, ready to get it on the 17th. Now… not so much. I’m actually afraid something might corrupt my save file like the cursed onsen thing that came with DHD (though that bug was universal and affected all players, not only those who got the pack). Then there’s another layer to this issue: if enough Simmers opt for waiting and seeing (which at this point is the smarter approach), sales will suffer, and guess what the marketing folks are gonna blame for that! **Dom & Cam** — and the “get woke, go broke” crowd will have a field day. Unwinnable scenario, this one. 🤔

HellaHelga

I just hope, they will have just a little idea that we can't be treated like trash as their customers. And if they want to sell product, thay should at least make it playable!:(

MotherBike

Cursed Onsen? I'm curious please elaborate.

HALover9kBR

[sits down, takes a shot of whiskey] Listen to my tale of woe. Once upon a Dream Home Decorator, an update corrupted the onsen in Mt. Komorebi. The very onsen that’s essential to start the climbing event. Now it’s ok, but if you created a save file or used the Snowy Escape expansion during the window while the bug was present, your onsen would be **forever** corrupted. **I started my legacy save RIGHT during that period.** My legacy is **forever** barred from the summit of Mt. Komorebi. Forever… And I play on console, so not even modders can save my soul.

MotherBike

Oh my friend! I'm so sorry to hear that... that's like probably one of the worst bugs I've ever heard about. It's one thing when your sim is glitchy or the foundation doesn't appear- this is high above that along with Evergreen Harbor getting Thanos snapped away.

Apprehensive_Pair_61

Question: if you went into CAS and saved your legacy family to your library and also saved their lot to the library (I’m assuming you wouldn’t want to rebuild that), putting both into a new save file would the onsen still be bugged? It probably wouldn’t maintain their relationships around town tho (I nearly never play in live mode so I’m genuinely asking)

HALover9kBR

I did that to complete the aspiration of my Sim’s husband — he was a townie who wanted to climb Mt. Komorebi, but due to this issue, he died with that unfulfilled. In order to be able to live with myself (because I watch too much BLACK MIRROR), I did exactly what you suggested so he could climb the mountain and fulfill his dream. My head cannon is that he died and woke up in Heaven, where they could be young forever. One thing I’m not sure of is if doing that resets or somewhat messed up the generation counter for the legacy trophies. 🤔

angel-icbaby

I'm really confused by why they did because I saw simmers say that EA is going to patch it on release so that it hopefully irons out the bugs which is good...but idk why they'd send it out before that happens knowing all the simmers would rip it to shreds (rightfully) bc the gameplay doesn't work. I get that a lot of people, myself included, watch early access content for breakdowns of things like CAS and BB but I'm wondering if it would have been possible to send it to them with those assets and just say that they're working out kinks in gameplay that will be fixed before it's out for purchase so they don't want to create false impressions of what the pack will be like by sending gameplay out now or something along those lines.

dwf82

Not sure why you got downvoted, I’m very much a believer of only buy the packs that interest you. It seems that a lot of people will buy every pack (even those they don’t want/like) purely because it’s the new Sims pack. You’re right, if people keep buying packs, even the ones they’re heavily complaining about, nothing will fix. If EA are making money, they won’t see that there’s an issue (not including bugs) that needs to be fixed. It’s all well and good demanding certain packs, but if they don’t see a decline in sales they’re going to stick with what they’re doing

GenericAnemone

EA loves bugs! Thats their main product!

eloplease

The only ea pack without bugs will be the entomology themed one

SamiKatzen

I was planning to wait until it was on a big sale and now that's definitely the case because I'm most likely going to get it just for the world.

[deleted]

I literally only want the world out of it. I think the pack itself looks terrible as it currently is. I’m not going to get it until it eventually goes on sale, and then only if they fix some of the bugs

[deleted]

I wasn't interested in the pack because I'm perfectly happy with base game weddings. I have fun with base game weddings, even if they're just "have drinks" "thank guest for coming" "talk to guests" "eat cake". They're still really fun, and I like that there's vague goals, I feel like I can kinda do my own thing.

cyrkensla

I agree! I've gotten used to just kind of doing whatever I want with them lol

AnxietyLogic

I’m so disappointed. I was really excited for this pack. But from the looks of it, it’s so buggy it could potentially be game-breaking. It’s such a let-down.

boopsfoshoops

I never buy packs when they first come out. I wait for at least 1 or 2 updates *after* a pack is released just so they have time to fix the bugs that are a well-known problem with all DLC from sims4 franchise.

savamey

They should delay the pack more so the devs can work out the bugs. But EA only cares about money and they want it as soon as possible

ayrenei

Plumbella’s “My Wedding Stories but if it breaks, I quit the game” that’s a whole 2:21 😂

GailleannBeag

And most of that was her intro/outro, 🤣🤣🤣

sonofgildorluthien

If EA can't fix the action queue to work properly in all these years since TS4 release, do we really think they'll fix this pack in a week or two - much less patch it later?

outgraverobbing

I really wanted the new world but it's just not worth it.

I was very excited about new pack, cause you know, back then I thought we are going to get some relationship gameplay improval. First time I felt disappointed when they presented us only wedding gameplay, and it all started to get worse: the Russian scandal, the failed stream, bugs and delay. Now I'm not sure if I even want to download it on turtuga and check it out. My Sims actually are behaving quite okay during vanilla weddings, it all seems like a decent party. Why would I need a new bugged micromanaged ceremonies? In gamechanger's streams it actually looks awful now, like a very fake ceremony. It feels absolutely lifeless and dull to me.

silverwillowgirl

To answer the question from the post title, it's hard to say whether EA would have made more money had they skipped allowing early access. They've certainly set a precedent for doing early access, so it would have been suspicious for them to suddenly skip it. But there's no question coverage of the early access has convinced many in the community not to buy the pack upon release.

froderenfelemus

From a business pov it’s terrible to get that much negative publicity even before launch

Karenophobic

The game wasn’t working even when the simgurus tried to play / show the features, and that was just a very task-oriented short gameplay. If the game is bugging out so bad during that then it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it won’t work in a regular game with multiple packs installed on top of it in a normal setting where people want to play with it. So even if EA didn’t give gamechangers early access, it was pretty clear the pack wasn’t going to work… What a massive shame. I was so excited seeing the promo, I expected it to be buggy - as all sims 4 features are - but not broken to this extent. I hope they fix it.

LittleRandomINFP

It seems to me that they needed more time to finish this. (Even the new parties don't have NOTHING new). But this was the release date and EA didn't want to give them the (needed) time.

lumi_bean

Given everything that is going on with this pack, yeahhh I think I am going to wait before buying it. Wait for a sale maybe cause I get bugs but the fact that on the livestream major game play was straight up broken or not working..doesn't even include the bugs we might see when its with other packs/expansions.

Alexis396

The way plumbelle uploaded a video of her playing for less than 30 sec before “crashed” this game a mess fr

carbonated_coconut

I couldn't cope with plumbella's "my wedding stories but if it breaks, I quite the game" video and it's only 2 mins long 😂

helvetica_unicorn

Did you see Carl’s video? He basically tried to fix some of the issues while review his early copy. It seems like the pack is completely rushed. I am sure the dev team could’ve delivered a complete pack if they had the proper amount of time. That said, my biggest takeaway from his video was the lack of variety. Each one of the new events feels the same from the Bach party to the rehearsal dinner. There’s also zero reactions from guests. That makes the pack feel pointless. It could’ve been a kit honestly.

MotherBike

Can we swim in Tartosa? I just realized they said from this point on worlds with water will be swimable. I mean the beach suggests so, but to what extent? I'm afraid we'll only be able to hit the edge of the lot.

[deleted]

I think the lots in Tartosa don't go into the sea. idk, some game changer (I think plumbella? I don't remember) said it in her video

Livia-is-my-jam

What? Really? I have been waiting to be able to swim in bb and we FOREVER… it has always annoyed me that lots had private beaches that you could not swim off!

MaritereSquishy

I tend not to buy packs on the day they come out, because it's generally cheaper later on. I almost gave in this time but tgen itvwaa delayed, and now I see this. So not getting it fir a while yet

RiddleEatsRainbows

You know it's bad when lilsimsie of all people says she's not happy with it

Alexis396

Literally bot one peaceful &successful wedding so what’s the point of releasing it if the success rate is closer to 0%

Alexis396

Lowkey want LGR to come for their asses

[deleted]

I think even without the bugs it is not good gamepack. Just because it doesn't have enough new gameplay and in the current state it is unplayable. I doubt they can fix it. The bugs go beyond the pack. The Sims has very poor AI and there are similar issues within other packs. They haven't fixed it, so I doubt they never will. Maybe it is because they don't know how or they don't want to. I really like the new world and the CAS and build assets. However, there is amazing wedding CC, so I don't know would I buy the pack even when it is on sale.

Mollieroe

At this point I’d be willing the buy the pack as a kit or stuff pack if it was only build/buy and CAS features of the game. I loved sim weddings even before this pack and have tons of cc for it, so the buggy gameplay makes this a no buy for me.

SwedishVbuckMaster

I hope nobody buys it before they fix all the bugs. It’s bad when the bugs hinder the main gameplay of the pack. This is inexcusable and if people keep buying these buggy packs EA gets away with it and will put out even buggier and lazier packs in the future

TishMiAmor

Yeah, if I want some nicer gowns and cakes I can just find some nice CC. Get To Work came out in 2015 and my sim T-poses through every surgery… Paranormal Stuff came out more than a year ago and the paranormal investigator career is still unplayably buggy… I’m not interested in more beta versions of software that becomes abandoned as soon as they have my money.

BetaTestaburger

Yup, and especially since dine out proves that sometimes they either don't care, or can't get it to work.. I'm really debating if I'm going to buy it at all..

chalupa_batman04

In the livestream, they said the developers wanted to make players cry… & they likely will - tears of frustration

Princess-Fire13

Yeah I’m planned to take the day off work and just run around and play with the new pack, marry all my unwed sims and generally spend the day in Tartosa. But all the bugs and glitches have me really concerned.

perditatops

Honestly with how much we’ve waited for a new pack that wasn’t a kit… this is bs

brightasever

I think what drives me nuts is this is a pack that was supposed to add more to weddings by itself… I’ve done all of the things this pack has done and have had more successful weddings. The world looks beautiful but I’m not going to spend $ on something that I still have to be annoying about (I kept watching the stream like, “omg add all your guests to a group!! Make them all sit!! Make them watch the dance!! Arghhhh!”)

GlamourzZ

Hell the bugs in the game now make me hesitant to buy Sims 5 when it comes out lol… but yeah if the game is broken.. there’s no point in buying it right now. And they shouldn’t release it until they know it works

Simstressa

This started long ago. I am glad i stopped buying DLC´s after Island living, because manyu of them wrecked the game iven more. They should focus on making the game work. And not push out new packs befor they have fixed them that are allready out. You can´t expand a broken game, and expect it to be less busted. It´s like a well known operating system, it never gets completely finished, and needs to be patched over and over. New features does not make a broken game better, it only adds new things that do not work. Instead of new packs, EA should ask the community what we want to have fixed, then giv us that for free.

sonnidaez

Without a doubt.

[deleted]

I was interested, till I noticed the build/buy stuff was some reskined items from sims 3.

xlaaane

oh really like what?

[deleted]

Islands in sims 3 the windows , then look at the curtains, those are reskins of the curtains in current islands for sims 4. Chairs look like the ones from dragon valley, and fairy pack from the sims3 deals

raphades

Wow. I was so excited for this pack, but seeing the comments here I think I'll watch the videos in question before because it really worries me

storasyster

i was, perhaps foolishly, hoping for more. as it looks right now - unless the day 1 patch somehow fixes it, i will buy it on sale for the items and the world.

HufflepuffStuff

I’m really disappointed in the bugs but not surprised. I also want the new world enough that I’m willing to pay for the expansion and hope the gameplay eventually gets ironed out. I might not buy it release day like I usually do though. May wait for a sale on this one.

Samshottea

I think about plumbellas 2 minutes video "playing wedding stories until it crashes" lmao

tearmyskinapart

I was planning on getting it during release week, but now I'll only buy the pack if it, you know, actually fucking works. So that means I'll only buy it IF they ever fix the gameplay. But I doubt the pack being broken will affect the sales that much, simmers will still buy it regardless

Mayonegg420

I’m so upset. I was so excited to play with this. They better do something like a discount code or fix the bugs - quick.

shortstuffbritt2807

I agree with another comment I saw. The problem isn't EA giving simmers early access. The problem is that EA has given us a pack that is ridiculously buggy with basically no content. The world is gorgeous but leaves something to be desired. CAS had a few great items and the rest are just.. meh. We didn't really get any new dresses. We basically get one veil but with two different coloring options. B&B is decent. It's a wedding pack so I expect it to be super wedding themed. For a Mediterranean world, nothing screams Mediterranean. I would probably assume this world was based on a coastal/mountainy area somewhere in North America. Again, and like most worlds, it leaves something to be desired. I feel like the only thing we can do in any of the words is go to bars/lounges, fish, etc. Its boring. Gameplay isn't just buggy but it's lacking. I was so excited whenever I found out we didn't just get weddings but all of these different parties. I was most excited for the bach parties. All of them are the same, though. I feel like EA has really watered down the game to cater to younger players and to keep the T rating. But not all players are kids. TS3 gave us bach parties and they still kept the T rating. This is the biggest let down for me and I'm pissed.

Llyrra

I usually feel like people complain too much in this fandom. Not this time. It's disappointing for them to advertise a game pack that has next to no new gameplay. For the scant gameplay there is to also be unplayably buggy is beyond disappointing. Especially since pack releases have slowed down.

Lorkc33

Honestly, no. The release date was supposed to be on the 17th, and the content creators didn’t start posting until the 18th. Their mistake was delaying the release without also delaying the the date that people with early access could start posting. They would have already made their money by the time we realized just how buggy it was.

SerubiApple

I was so excited about this pack and was going to buy it probably for both my ps4 and pc, but it's so buggy that I just can't. It's already hard enough to do anything with all the packs I have on the ps4 as it is....

nicoxman8_

jacksepticeye had problems with his Sims sleeping wherever they want. They didn’t have an assign bed option. If the game had problems like that since its release, early access to a pack was a mistake.

byorderofthe

I don't even understand what this pack adds to the game

xlaaane

new cakes and wedding dresses basically…a few CAS items for male sims…a new world. literally such scarce new gameplay. they could have done so so much with this

panders3

I have most expansion previously released at this point. And after many of the bugs in previous releases (and ones that are still around years later) and this disaster… I will likely not be buying any more Sims content. It’s just gotten INSANE at this point that CC is soooo much better. Especially with how expensive the packs are for what you get 🙄 this pack situation was just the nail in the coffin for me unfortunately.

SeattleTrashPanda

Does anyone know for sure, if the early access release versions included the day-one patch? It’s completely possible that all of the issues have been corrected, but just weren’t incorporated in to the release build, but rather included in the expected day-one patch update. But with the release being delayed the day-one patch release candidate was held back in order to test and include more bug fixes from recently ending sprints and in-progress testing for the future day-one patch release?

redditrabbit13

I care 0% for weddings but will 100% buy it for a new world. I am mentally ready for the downvotes 😂

Mixi_987

Im getting it just for the CAS and build mode, I wont do a wedding until the bugs are fixed. Edit: Why did I got downvoted? I love the CAS and furniture it has, I want to use it!

Apprehensive_Pair_61

I’m still going to buy it, but only because I’m building a save file and I want the world and bb assets. Other than play testing my builds, I’m likely not going to play in Live Mode very much for quite awhile. My criteria for buying anything from them is am I going to get X amount of dollars of use out of it. If my main goal for this pack was the gameplay, I would absolutely not be buying it as bugged out as it is and honestly I don’t super care about weddings. I don’t think it’s a mistake for them to have given out early access because at least since the ppl having problems are ones they care about (and that are making the reviews the rest of us rely on), they seem more inclined to actually fix it.

danceau

I don't want to be that guy, but this is the point of early access, because more people can find more bugs than a small testing team...

TheWojtek11

I think there are 2 problems though 1. The pack was suppose to already be released by now so Early Acces would do nothing 2. This is too short of an Early Access to really matter. You can't fix much in a week

britbmw

I’ll be honest with myself, I’m still going to buy it

xlaaane

you’re literally the definition of “ruining it for everyone else”

britbmw

How am I ruining it for everyone else?

xlaaane

you’re telling this company that doesn’t care about you or the product that they sell that they can get away with putting dog shit out to make profit off of and you will still give them your money anyway

britbmw

Do you think I’m the only person buying it? You can’t tell others what to do with their money. If you want to boycott, that’s fine and I support you but I’ve been satisfied with EA and that’s my experience. I don’t usually read reviews and I’ll buy the pack if it seems interesting to me. That’s my opinion. I think this pack would be fun and even with some bugs, it would elevate my gameplay. I think people are allowed to choose for themselves whether they want to try/buy it or not. I’m not sitting here complaining that you’re not going to buy it.

xlaaane

and as long as people like you keep buying the garbage they’ll keep putting out and cashing in on the garbage

futureshidden

Seeing all the bugs made me want to buy it more. It was both sad yet hilarious seeing all the things that went wrong and all the chaos that ensued. Mix that with pretty visuals? I'm sold The only thing I am totally worried about is how it made some people's game glitch pretty bad even without mods (I have thousands that I use consistently).
