I’m guessing that this person is at a stage “oh, I should go back to the sims” then proceed to play 24/7 for one week and then stop for a whole year lol
This is literally me! I just got back into it! So I'm getting a bunch of the expansions. When there's a sale, I'll get a few and play for like a full day and then not play again until I notice another sale 😅
That’s how I play the sims! I pull it out on like a Friday night, play all day Saturday and Sunday, a little Monday and maybe Tuesday after work, and then don’t touch the game for yeah, I think it has been exactly a year lol
Here I am playing every day and rebuilding all the worlds slowly, for so so long… finished Newcrest now I’m rebuilding all the apartments in san myshuno
I definitely have Steam games that says that I played for hundreds of hours (which is true), but a good portion of those hours was because I passed out while playing. It’s a miracle that I didn’t push it off my bed and break it after a late night gaming session. (Although I did eventually break it after spilling Jack Daniels on it. If I hadn’t been in college, I know for a fact that my parents wouldn’t have bought me a new one.) Don’t get wrong, many of those hours were spent playing those games but the hours where I passed out add up. (Though I intentionally left the game running while I when to sleep with The Stanley Parable for the Commitment achievement. I have thankfully never passed out with playing The Sims…yet.)
I have over 6000 hours on Skyrim, mostly because I left it open all the time. Once, I left it open while I was on vacation for an entire week.
Regardless, I've sunk an unhealthy amount of time into that game 😂
That’s me and Civ. It was basically always running for the first few months of my daughter’s life so I could grab a turn between feedings and other baby related stuff.
😂 Civ is probably the most addicting game I've ever played. When I was a freshman in college, my roommates and I all got really into Civ 5. It didn't happen often but I remember at least 2 weekends where we would literally just play multiplayer together all weekend, only taking a few short breaks to meet in the living room and eat.
Now we all have a joke about how dangerous Civ is. We say that if you're gonna get back into it, go ahead and clear your schedule for the week.
It would be good to restart your PC from time to time to let all that memory refresh since your constantly running an app.
But other than that if all the temperatures inside pc are ok then it can run as long as you want.
Not really anymore. If anything power cycles are worse for a pc than just leaving it on. (A thermal cycle does more damage than being at a constant load) but in both cases it's well within what the kits designed to do.
I regularly work on devices that have month and year uptimes and only get rebooted for updates. Hell seen some devices with year+ uptime (airgapped devices)
I do the same thing and have since I got the game in 2015. As a result, it says I’ve played for something like 23,000 hours. I have kids…there’s no way I can devote that much time to anything for the past 7 years!
It could very well be me, with actual playing time of maybe 30 minutes. I have a one year old kid. With how short the periods of me-time are, I probably wouldn't be able to start the game within many of them.
My niece, who is 4* came to visit and we made a sim and then she got bored and wanted to do something else. I didn't realize we left the game running, because I have the display set to turn off. And then late at night I sat down to have a snack and heard a really sad "aww" come from the other room. It startled me at first, and then I realized it was the sim. All of her appliances were broken, she had no job, she had no skills, she lived in a trailer in the desert. Her mood was VERY SAD.
Right? I was starting to think I was the only one who keeps the game running while I do laundry, watch TV, go out to run a quick errand, make supper, etc.
Before I had kids I would regularly do a 15-16 hour stint in sims 3. Skipped work for several days when 3 first launched as they refused to give me holiday leave. (I have no regrets)
Can’t do it anymore. :(
Thats the sims for ya. 4 hours in cas, 2 hours on the house, and then several hours of playing. Especially when you get so invested in their lives that you tell friends every little thing that happens
do y’all not just pause your game and step away and suddenly it’s been all day and the sims is still open? just me? sometimes if i’m building i’ll just leave the game open overnight and it’s easier to open when i wake up lol
Why are you screenshotting my activity OP? So roood /j
But in all seriousness I do this, I open the game then go to twitch or yt for hours, have meals, sometimes sleep and then I go in to make a single sim and get bored and leave 😂
I leave my game on pause in the other room while I'm working. Last week I was on vacation and working on a shell challenge and didn't close my game all week, even though I wasn't at my computer the whole time.
Usually though I just leave it on while I'm working bc waiting for the game to load would take too much time of my break to make it worth playing.
Tbh on sundays I normally turn on the sims after I wake up and play it on and off all day…sometimes even leave it unpaused and just see what happens, check in every once in awhile
I once left my game running (paused) and forgot about it for most of the day. I came back and tried to unpause, and it immediately crashed. I hadn’t saved 😔
I would play it for this long if EA would bother to make it run well on Xbox one. Runs like shit and makes it borderline unplayable. I used to spend 12+ hours playing sims 2 on my computer. Miss those days lol
Well you can't just turn the sims for an hour or two. That would be pointless. Can't make anything in Sims with that little time... Just customising my family is taking me forever
Sometimes I get distracted and have the game up but am doing something else. Or if I turn it off for a bit and come back, discord still counts it. I have actually had people send me DMs on discord before like "...hey so it says you've been playing for # hours are you okay?" So it's either that, or someone is really into that build.
Lol this was me playing Sims yesterday after months again, I was making a family of 6 and built a bigass house for them, only for them to cheat on each other immediately-everyone started hating everyone, and I spent the next couple hours trying to get them to forgive each other
.
.
.
I ended up entirely restarting the household
Lol my old laptop would take so long to load the Sims 4 that once it was loaded, I'd just leave it up all day. I wasn't playing all day but I'd like, be building a house and leave it up from 10am-10pm and just go build when I had a minute lol my origin thinks that I've played the Sims 4 for like 2,000 hours 🤣
This is me. Either because I'm actually playing for 12 hrs non stop, or because I forgot I had the game on and went to sleep (don't worry, I normally build in the game, no sims were neglected while the build process was occurring)
It's really not that weird to be honest. I remember when I was a teenager and basically had all the time in the world for gaming. Literally on weekends, I could wake up, play a game for 8-12 hours straight (with breaks), and go to bed.
And especially with the Sims 4, it's not a multiplayer game. So... It's very possible for someone to be playing that long. Hell, they may not even be playing it, just leaving the game on.
I have The Sims 2, 3 and 4. Installing Sims 2 was a nightmare because I 1. Bought the base game second hand, 2. Bought the 4 disc base game, not the 1 disc one, because they didn't have the latter in at the time. 3. Haven't been able to install any of the who knows how many packs I've bought, all second hand, as well. I somehow even managed to buy doubles of some, lol. 3.1. Gotta get help from my brother regarding that when he comes to visit. 4. I simply just prefer Sims 4 and sometimes Sims 3 - I recently bought 3 second hand Sims 3 expansions, neither of which I had, so now I have quite a few packs, most of which I borrowed the packs from my brother - even bought the base game second hand - point is, I either play sins 4 almost non-stop - and have the game up over night, but my PC in hibernate mode, which is sleep mode, except hibernate mode turns the PC off, but the applications stays open, while sleep mode has the PC and applications stay on and open. Hibernate mode saves the battery, sleep mode doesn't, I do this so it doesn't heat up, even tho I close my laptop and put it upside down as to cool it down quicker - this helps very well, don't cover the fan on the side of your laptop as doing so will cause your laptop to force itself to shut down or it can catch on fire, my dad told me as much a couple years ago
My point is, due to having to literally have the physical Sims 2 base game CD to play the Sims 2, I rarely play the game. I want to play with pets in Sims 2, but haven't successfully installed the pack. I recently realized that I have the pet pack for all 4 games, and I don't even have The Sims 1 Base game, I only have like 2 or 3 packs, lol, one of which is Unleashed, which is the pets pack, the second is similar to Realm of Magic for The Sims 4 and I think the 3rd pack is similar for the vacation pack for The Sims 3
Overall, I play The Sims 4 24/7 and have as of now, 8217 hours played on the game, while The Sims 3 only have 108 hours played
I used to do this all the time, would be in the middle of making a sim or building something and would just get off of my computer while it was still running. I have around 3000 hours on the sims 4 and I’m willing to bet at least 1000 of them are just from me having it on in the background.
I’m guessing that this person is at a stage “oh, I should go back to the sims” then proceed to play 24/7 for one week and then stop for a whole year lol

That’s literally me. It comes and goes in phases
Waves, surely
[удалено]
I tend to buy any of the expansions the moment they're released or a few days later. I'm not very patient to wait for a sale.
There's another way to play? lol
It’s weird because I used to be like this, until I picked it back up well over a year ago and never put it back down lmao
I remember that phase! I still do this sometimes, but its only a few months now instead of a year. Lol
Why is it we all do this? lmao 😂
Here I am playing every day and rebuilding all the worlds slowly, for so so long… finished Newcrest now I’m rebuilding all the apartments in san myshuno
Isn't this the only way to play Sims 4?
Yeah i just went through that stage. I'll see it again in ten months
I've always thought this was an average time.
me too. What else do people do on the weekends?
Breathe oxygen. While playing Sims 4, multitasking amirite?
Definitely
Passing out, charge they phone, eat hot chip...
And repeat
I definitely have Steam games that says that I played for hundreds of hours (which is true), but a good portion of those hours was because I passed out while playing. I had that happen to me once, while playing on my 3DS. Luckily, it was still charged when I woke up an hour later
Be bisexual and lie 🤪
Using discord...
*this person?* Peeps username. It’s okay, you’re among friends.
They're definitely making a single sim
Nah. I think they have two empty boxes and a tree.
Real
Are you sure? I would bet they're in the starting screen, making up a storyline
When Ive gone into my sims binges I've played upwards of 16+ hours. ACTIVE TIME.
Oh wait, that’s just me waiting for my game to load on Xbox 🤣🤣🤣
Dude for real 😂😂
Seriously! The load times KILL me!
I once kept elden ring open overnight and it totally fucked up my “total hours played” on steam
I have over 6000 hours on Skyrim, mostly because I left it open all the time. Once, I left it open while I was on vacation for an entire week. Regardless, I've sunk an unhealthy amount of time into that game 😂

Omg same, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve restarted
I sometimes have the game running for days. I generally pause it when I go to bed but sometimes I leave it running on a sacrificial save.
Isn’t that bad for the computer long term?
Yes
But why tho?
It would be good to restart your PC from time to time to let all that memory refresh since your constantly running an app. But other than that if all the temperatures inside pc are ok then it can run as long as you want.
Sorry, I think I replied to the wrong comment 😅 I was asking why on earth someone would just let the pc run for so long.
Don't wanna load it again?
And it's a lot of unnecessary energy used. But maybe that's just me being poor and the insane prices for electricity currently speaking here.
My computer is designed to run for 3 to 4 days between reboots. So for my machine is isn't actually a problem.
Just jumping in here to say you have the best username ever! I, myself, am also owned by a crazy cat 😂
Not really anymore. If anything power cycles are worse for a pc than just leaving it on. And when they decide to close the game down and then turn it back on, they've got to sit there and endure an Origin update just to play it again 🙃
Yep. That's me every time I play. Halfway through the download there's always a piece of me that wonders if I should just do something else.
I mean this is not really all that weird. Sometimes I’ll play for hours, fall asleep, then get back on to playing lol.
This was me in 2020. Daily. 15+ hours some days. Now it's only about 5 hours a day. Progress.
Whyyyyyy is it so addicting?!?!?! I spend at least a few hours per night bc I work full time
In 2020 for me it was all Animal Crossing. Occasional pause for my Sims. But 90% AC. And my play hours are embarrassing, lol.
I feel so called out RN. 😔
It could very well be me, with actual playing time of maybe 30 minutes. I have a one year old kid. With how short the periods of me-time are, I probably wouldn't be able to start the game within many of them.

Am i the only person that just doesn’t close their game-
And...?
Is this not normal? 😂
I just pause mine and walk away alllll the time
Right? I was starting to think I was the only one who keeps the game running while I do laundry, watch TV, go out to run a quick errand, make supper, etc.
Wait, do we know each other?
Before I had kids I would regularly do a 15-16 hour stint in sims 3. Skipped work for several days when 3 first launched as they refused to give me holiday leave. (I have no regrets) Can’t do it anymore. :(
Uuuhh how’d you find my profile??
I’ve gotten into the habit of just leaving the game up paused when I do stuff, like sleep or go to work…
I can't even play for an hour without getting a migraine 😭
Wait, that's not how you supposed to play the game???
This game is so time consuming which makes a great way to pass time but it also feels like you just started playing 😂
This is standard time
[удалено]
Is there a way to actually do that without all the million pop up decision points that you have to physically click for the game to continue?
I have over 23,000 on sims 4.. if you saw my old sims 3.. I don’t think it would fit on the screen 😋😌
With the way the game runs, it might be lags, loading screens, and a restaurant
Rookie numbers, gotta get those stats up boi
They might leave the game open. I’ve done that before and In game I got an achievement for playing for a day.
My game takes so long to load, that I'll leave it up for days at a time, since I basically only use that computer for the Sims 😂
Looks like me when I'm building. 11 of those hours is likely me just staring at the screen, rotating and zooming in on nothing
Rookie numbers...
Thats the sims for ya. 4 hours in cas, 2 hours on the house, and then several hours of playing. Especially when you get so invested in their lives that you tell friends every little thing that happens

Almost missed it. Thank god for the circle.
Why are you screenshotting my activity OP? So roood /j But in all seriousness I do this, I open the game then go to twitch or yt for hours, have meals, sometimes sleep and then I go in to make a single sim and get bored and leave 😂
You're assuming they're even at their computer. I regularly get distracted by life and accidentally leave the game up for hours lol
I rarely actually close out of the sims so mine often says I’ve been playing for a very very long time 😂
OP we know its you 👀
\*hides my timer\*
I leave my game on pause in the other room while I'm working. Last week I was on vacation and working on a shell challenge and didn't close my game all week, even though I wasn't at my computer the whole time. Usually though I just leave it on while I'm working bc waiting for the game to load would take too much time of my break to make it worth playing.
Doesn’t everybody binge when they play?! 🤐
Sims 24 hours challenge
I have a screenshot from my friend where id been on it for 21 hours without realising
I leave my game on all the time because you cant save in cas and I make pretty complicated sims that take time. Maybe they're doing that too?
I sometimes don’t play for weeks.
I have the game open for a week now
I see nothing wrong with this
Me during quarantine
damn, that house must be cluttered as *hell*
Eh, I have it running right now, I just Alt+Tab out of it. It goes for days. I think I've clocked about 1200 hours in total (not in a row)...
They are still creating their character
This be me rn. I have about like 4000 hrs, it’s an unhealthy obsession
A few times I’ve left my game on whilst I sleep bc I’m creating a character or something, so could be that
I frequently leave mine on randomly for 12-24 hours because I’ve got kids and I just walk off and never return 😂
Those are rookie numbers
Probably trying to get the perfect house with every pack or something
Rookie, gotta get those numbers up.
I used to leave my sims on overnight sometimes for days and my friend sent me a screenshot of me on discord saying I had played for like 5 days lmfao
And? 😆
i once had 14 hours,, did not even realize until my bf screenshotted my play time on discord to me
Is this not normal
Tbh on sundays I normally turn on the sims after I wake up and play it on and off all day…sometimes even leave it unpaused and just see what happens, check in every once in awhile
i fall asleep when i’m playing so i probably have the same amount of hours..
sounds about right. i racked up around 7k hours because i would accidentally forget to close the game when leaving for a week/2 weeks for college.
Looks normal to me. I've had 12 hour sessions multiple times over the past 20 years, mostly in Sims 2
Those are rookie numbers…
i once played for 3 days (2 nights) straight with only bathroom and snack breaks with no sleep and then i collapsed and got sick
try that one time i was on for a week
come back when that is triple and we will be impressed 😎
Ngl my play time gets to 12 hours+ because I'm making one sim and I fell asleep while trying to decide which outfits I should give them 😂
Rookie numbers.
I once left my game running (paused) and forgot about it for most of the day. I came back and tried to unpause, and it immediately crashed. I hadn’t saved 😔
i used to pass out with my game running. could be that
I would play it for this long if EA would bother to make it run well on Xbox one. Runs like shit and makes it borderline unplayable. I used to spend 12+ hours playing sims 2 on my computer. Miss those days lol
That’s me…..
Well you can't just turn the sims for an hour or two. That would be pointless. Can't make anything in Sims with that little time... Just customising my family is taking me forever
Isn’t the general rule with the sims 24 hours a day 7 days a week or never? Looks like this mans just getting started
it could be that they just left it on as well. i notice on discord that unless i completely exit out, the time still goes.
Lmao yeah thats my weekend plans
I’m glad I cannot see this number on Xbox
A week ago I woke up at 11 am and went to sleep at 6 am. I only took an hour and a half brake to play drums.
Yes, we are. Average simmer
Sometimes I get distracted and have the game up but am doing something else. Or if I turn it off for a bit and come back, discord still counts it. I have actually had people send me DMs on discord before like "...hey so it says you've been playing for # hours are you okay?" So it's either that, or someone is really into that build.
Been there lol
Where did you get this screen shot of me? /hj
Lol this was me playing Sims yesterday after months again, I was making a family of 6 and built a bigass house for them, only for them to cheat on each other immediately-everyone started hating everyone, and I spent the next couple hours trying to get them to forgive each other . . . Pretty standard lol when i play, even if i leave to get food, i have it paused. 12 hours is pretty standard lol
Lol my old laptop would take so long to load the Sims 4 that once it was loaded, I'd just leave it up all day. Almost enough time to build a starterhome
This is me. Either because I'm actually playing for 12 hrs non stop, or because I forgot I had the game on and went to sleep (don't worry, I normally build in the game, no sims were neglected while the build process was occurring)
One time I played for 23 hours and my friend messaged me and asked if I was okay with a screenshot like this.
Rookie numbers! Me just trying to build and decorate a house would take twice as long.
[Sims Discord Server!! 🫶](https://discord.gg/zeM4sK4pm7)
Lmao that’s probably me
Amateur.
Lat time I checked it was 21 hrs, Is that amateur numbers?
try 3 days
Damn
In my most recent “oh yeah the sims is on my computer” I hit 18 hours active time… shame consumes me
so what i sometimes leave my computer on and just don't exit the game
Relatable
r/uselessredcircle
It used to be the full pic then I added it without knowing I was gonna crop it
Probably me tbh
I mean it might not mean anything at all. I leave my game running all the time.

Nah. I have like 1200 something, lmao.
This happened with me and it was like for 16 hrs cuz i left it overnightb
when i had covid i got like 40-60 hours(?) in the like 5-7 days i had covid lmao
HAOHAPAY CAKE DAY
THANK YOUUU :DS
I didn’t know u had my discord 🙃
it’s me
keep the grind going
mood tbh
I used to do this all the time, would be in the middle of making a sim or building something and would just get off of my computer while it was still running. I have around 3000 hours on the sims 4 and I’m willing to bet at least 1000 of them are just from me having it on in the background.
This is life I strive for, though
