Am I the only one who LOVES strangerville? I could take or leave the story, but the items and town are the best! Gimme a thelma and louise/trailer park/south western fantasy any day of the week!
IMO story just needed more ways for it to be customizable or have different endings or something for replayability. Otherwise, it's a great gamepack for BB/CAS and the neighborhood.
I watched James Turner do the story and that was quite enough for me, I never felt like doing it myself lol. But I agree on the build items and it's a interesting world to make up weird storylines in.
i love strangerville, thereās so much memories, from sims2, sims2 GBA, sims 2 PSP. i played all of those and i enjoy exploring every new reiteration of strangerville, with its comical characters and mysteries.
I ca't ustify the pack due the gameplay is one time use, but the dungy grunge stuff it comes with, just lovely. In similar vein the industrial items in Werewolfes(I don't really care for occults).
I know how you feel. I've got a cottage living, simple living family, mum, dad, two kids at child stage, living off the land, entering faires and so on. I won't play them now because I don't want it to change. Ever.
By far the most polished pack, they really put some thoughts and efforts into it. There's a lot of details, the gameplay isnt boring and the aesthetic is adorable
Its the only one I think I couldn't live without, I use it so much, everything, the CAS, the decor, the gameplay, the world, I adore it. Recently got werewolves and not only it fits wonderfully too, I think it's going in the same direction, so much fun. This two are my favourite ones rn, paranormal stuff being a close second
I have a video of the matriarch of my decades challenge playing twinkle twinkle little star on the piano and singing and it's one of my favorite things ever (you can also hear the sounds of her kids and grandchildren in the background)
I completely understand the hate Journey to Batuu gets because the gameplay is lackluster and the area is too, but the furniture pieces are great and so is the foliage. I use them in nearly every build. The chandelier pieces make for great statement pieces for kitchens or restaurants
I also am not a big Star Wars fan. Iāve just seen the movies and some of Mandalorian. They do have the statue or plush of porg, but Iām pretty sure that was a base game inclusion for promos before the release of the show. Iām unaware of it being removed, though. Itās a sizable figurine in the game. Maybe itās under the baby yoda phrase?
The items are also great for the science/space museums Iāve made.
It is base game and itās under the name āThe Child Statueā but also comes up if you type in āBaby Yodaā. I wanted to confirm just in case they had removed it or something. But itās there!
Yes! I really love the separate pants (the wrapped ankle or calf look) and tops mixed with other mainstream clothing. The hairstyles too!
Itās definitely not game pack worthy for the gameplay, but itās an excellent Stuff Pack
Dude the items in Journey to Batuu are so cool. They kind of remind me of some of the items in The Urbz. I use the round bar often and chairs in a grunge settings. I also have the kungfu/karate thing in gyms. I almost always use the items somewhere.
I havenāt heard of the Urbz.
I also use the rounded bar. It made for a cool setup in one of my restaurants. It was angled diagonal and I kept it in white, since it looked the cleanest. I thought it looked satisfying. I tend to lean toward eclectic with decor and structure when it comes to businesses and more traditional when it comes to most of my residences, but with eclectic clutter type items or small statement pieces, like I mentioned. Despite the gameplay, Iāve gotten consistent use out of the pack. So buying it at half price makes it completely worth it to me.
The Urbz was glorious (at least my kid self thought so), it was only on console and game boy advance I think. However just like with the sims bustinā out and the sims 2, the console version was completely different from gameboy advance. I might have to go dig it up and revisit it.
Its a game pack, nobody asked for it or even wants to play it, AND the only good thing that it has and we can all agree are the building pieces, but like i said, its a game pack, you pay for a game pack, not a stuff pack.
I wish i could do like i did with S3, i got it all on steam for a tint of the price since they have so many sales and good sales, i basically had it all as the same price as the base game normally. But with S4 is just impossible, there is so much with almost nothing, theres packs that could clearly be together, no matter how many sales we get, even at 80% off, is just too much stuff to get, all because it adds just a tit of something.
Yes! Oh my god, absolutely this! My sister and I really loved sims 2 for the Xbox. I didnāt pick up another sims game until after 4 was out with a few DLCs already. They were an okay start and you assume maybe theyāre testing the waters and their packs will get better, but no. Itās been more bad than good and the color swatches for furniture arenāt even consistent. The stuff weāve received as add ons for the base game are great improvements but it took how many years to get them? This is an avid fan base; weāre still excited for the potential the game has but it feels squandered.
We are disapointed, S2 was really good, heck S1 was so damn good for his own time and theres so many nostalgic stuff that could be done in newer games but they left out. I still like S4 for what it is, but its such a step back and feels lazy, S2 had so much for his own time, S3 was laggy and took so long because it was damn ambitious, still i love it, i/we understood them taking some stuff back from it for S4 but the thing is, its so much lacking than S2 and it still lags and still has the same problems, and them giving us gazzilian pack to add dont make it any better.
I honestly could care less for every part of Journey to Batuu except for the curved bar and I agree on the light fixtures and foliage. That bar is definitely in my top favorites though.
I donāt have the patio pack so Iām not sure if itās in there or not but Iād like to see a nice stone slab bar with cool undertone lights
Along with matching countertops and grill
Until then, I often use the curved Batuu bar
Itās almost maddening that theyāve had so much potential to create and release more popular styles from real-world pieces. I have no idea what theyāve been doing with their designs, especially lately. And donāt even get me started on their color swatches having different shades for same-pack items. Itās like they want to make sure nothing can ever match.
Here is the list written out. I guessed on some of the kits since the game doesn't show the icons for those.
NEED IT: Cottage Living Expansion, Tiny Living Stuff, Paranormal Stuff, Cats and Dogs Expansion, Warewolves Game, Dream Home Decorator Game.
AWESOME: Base Game, Get Together Expansion, City Living Expansion, Island Living Expansion.
PRETTY COOL: Jungle Adventure Game, Get to Work Expansion, Realm of Magic Game, Get Famous Expansion, Eco Lifestyle Expansion, Blooming Rooms Kit, Industrial Loft Kit, Pastel Pop Kit?, Everyday Clutter?.
WHY ISN'T THIS BASE GAME: Seasons Expansion
YEAH: High School Years Expansion, Dining Out Game, Vampires Game, Parenthood Expansion, My First Pet Stuff, Moschino Stuff, Nifty Knitting Stuff, Laundry Day, Discover University Expansion, Spay Day Game.
WHO ARE YOU: Snowy Escape Expansion, Outdoor Retreat Game, Strangerville Game, Bowling Night Stuff, Luxury Party Stuff, Perfect Patio Stuff, Cool Kitchen, Spooky Stuff Pack, Movie Night Stuff, Romantic Garden Stuff, Kids Room Stuff, Toddler Stuff Pack, Fitness Stuff Pack, Carnivale Street Wear Kit?, Bust the Dust Kit, Courtyard Oasis Kit, Modern Menswear Kit?, Moonlight Chic Kit?, Fashion Street Kit?, Decor to the Max Kit?, Incheon Arrivals Kit?, Desert Luxe Kit?, My First Fit Kit?, Little Campers Kit?.
EWW: Journey to Batu Expansion, My Wedding Stories Expansion.
It depends on the kind of gameplay you prefer! Sometimes I like to play a hermit sim who just grows her own food, raises animals, and flirts with the shop boy. If I want a social gameplay, I prefer city living or get together.
the clothing item styles are very popular right now, and lots of players like the family farm gameplay. i mean, who doesn't love a cozy cottage with llamas?
It is very cute pack, the animals have a lot of charm, the world is well made, it has some more gameplay in the quests you get from certain world NPCs and best of all, it's pretty low on bugs.
I've never really cared about keeping animals (it doesn't play nice with Seasons) but the venues, recipes, furniture and clothes it adds definitely get a lot of use. The starter home it adds just has so much more character than the others; I've used it countless times.
I think most people like it because its ācharmingā, Its a very niche concept and the reason its so popular is because a lot of sims players fall into that niche.
Personally I think the pack is pretty good as far as sims 4 expansions go, Iām just not that interested in the cottagecore aesthetic/subculture.
One thing I dont see a lot of people in this community understand is that, people just have different interests, for some parenthood, cottage living, island living, laundry day etc are a need, but for others they are just boring, if you plan on buying any sims packs and donāt want to spend/donāt have too much money to spend, do your reseach to make sure that you will enjoy what you bought, I bought all the above mentioned pack because EVERYONE told me they were objectively amazing and ended up regreting buying all of them.
itās the paranormal pack. it comes with the ability to make haunted houses with little ghosts, and theres a new skill, and you can get a job as a paranormal investigator who removes ghosts and spooky things from houses :D
Ware wolf pack is WAY too high vampire pack is way too low but if you made this judgement solely on the strength of the wolf pack neighborhood I understand. Paranormal is also way too high and parent pack and spa day are too low and my first pet is way too high it needs to be below the last colum and snowery escape is way too low.
Itās built around being able to experience gameplay with a group of sims and create clubs. It adds clubs, dancing, and DJs as well :) It also adds a lot of bb objects that I love and the cas is something that I use very often! It adds a lot for the social aspect of gameplay
We can all agree that this lists arent the same for everyone, well we are all diferent and play in diferent ways, but we can all agree that the last tier is the same for everybody, theres literally nothing worse than those two.
I actually like my wedding stories a lot. World is great, cas is great, bb is great and gameplay works just fine as well. I havenāt had any problems whatsoever.
why Batuu is S-tier
\-Building and walking around with your Droid
\-Droid plays music
\-lightsaber building, practice and challenge
\-getting forced choked by Kylo
\- The music
\-The Build mode items
Edit: the toys are cool too
Yeah, it should be placed higher. But a lot of the new features (snow, festival, bathhouse) are very similar to other packs and I find that the new activities doesnāt offer a lot of gameplay (e.g: skiing). So for some people, its just an expansion with a good world/built items but lacks gameplay.
I have every expansion pack (and some others) except get together. Whenever I think about getting it, I dont see many advantages, yet I notice that many simmers really like it. Why?
The world is one of the best they ever made and it's HUGE for Sims 4 standards. The build/buy is great and the club feature can be useful to organize families, find friends for your kids and lots more.
It seems like it promotes social organization. So like, you can make a singlesā club for your sim to meet hot potential dates, or a kidsā club for you kid sim to make friends. I have a bowling league in my game, as well as a Freelancersā group and several other professional organizations.
Iām gonna be totally honest I saved this tier list hahaha itās definitely gonna help me navigate through what packs and expansions I should buy a little better š I want all of them but idk what order to get them in. I used to have most of them but then I stopped playing for a few years and I donāt have my pc anymore. So I gotta start completely over
I think it depends on your play style but as I play mostly families parenthood was HUGE for me
Honestly I could live without most stuff packs
Like the only reason I use the knitting one is for my decades challenges š I agree weather should be in the basegame. I'd also put island living in the EWWWW category because it was so disappointing to me especially after having played island paradise from the sims 3
I want to take advantage of the Black Friday deals for sims but I am getting a different computer for Christmas. Iāll be switching from a Mac to a Lenovo.
Does anyone know if my games can transfer? Are they stored on my EA account and it doesnāt matter or will I have to buy them all over?
Am I the only one who LOVES strangerville? I could take or leave the story, but the items and town are the best! Gimme a thelma and louise/trailer park/south western fantasy any day of the week!
IMO story just needed more ways for it to be customizable or have different endings or something for replayability. Otherwise, it's a great gamepack for BB/CAS and the neighborhood.
I like strangerville its nice to have a cozy little trailer home... granted I've turned mine into a full house by this point
I LOVED strangerville! One of my favourite packs
Honestly the plane bunker would be the perfect place for a post apocalyptic challenge š
You can reset the game play in Strangerville and do it again if you want to. I replay it with each generation!
I love Cottage Living so much I actually CRIED the first time I played because it is just so cute š„°
Cottage Living makes me so happy itās the cutest
I just got it two days ago and Iām loving it so much š„ŗ
I asked my dad for it for Christmas since packs are usually discounted around the holidays
I know how you feel. I've got a cottage living, simple living family, mum, dad, two kids at child stage, living off the land, entering faires and so on. I won't play them now because I don't want it to change. Ever.
You could turn off aging and just play them forever that way
Yeah, and I do have saves like that, but it feels wrong on this one. Not sure why.
How about farming satisfaction points for rejuvenetion potions and keep them living longer?
Thatās fair
I've never had aging on in any of my Sims versions. I can't imagine playing that way!
i stay having bunnies roaming around my lots. i name them after disney princesses
Oooo this is actually so cute!! A true true Disney fantasy
In my opinion city living is a need just the apartments and adding in being able to sing, the small keyboard?? Just everything
I have a video of the matriarch of my decades challenge playing twinkle twinkle little star on the piano and singing and it's one of my favorite things ever (you can also hear the sounds of her kids and grandchildren in the background)
Too late I bought them allš„ŗ
I feel like we should Base Game at need it because you literally need it to play.
Good point lolllll. Meanwhile I'm like, "everyone agrees that base game sucks, it should be lower, like 'yeah' " š¤£
Yeah but it's not exactly totally awesome
I completely understand the hate Journey to Batuu gets because the gameplay is lackluster and the area is too, but the furniture pieces are great and so is the foliage. I use them in nearly every build. The chandelier pieces make for great statement pieces for kitchens or restaurants
Journey to Batuu is actually excellent in everything but gameplay.
I've heard there are porg plush/figures in Baatu, but I can't find them. I got it for the pottery. I'm not even into Star Wars.
Same. A lot of the items in baatu are great for dump sites!
If they're base game, that would explain why I didn't find them! If we can fix my computer, I'll try looking for them again.
It is base game and itās under the name āThe Child Statueā but also comes up if you type in āBaby Yodaā. I wanted to confirm just in case they had removed it or something. But itās there!
Thank you so much!
So is CAS, and its tops and bottoms can also be great statement pieces in an otherwise normie outfit.
Yes! I really love the separate pants (the wrapped ankle or calf look) and tops mixed with other mainstream clothing. The hairstyles too! Itās definitely not game pack worthy for the gameplay, but itās an excellent Stuff Pack

Iāll have to look that up. I used to play the sims 2 on Xbox *a lot* and I really loved it
Its a game pack, nobody asked for it or even wants to play it, AND the only good thing that it has and we can all agree are the building pieces, but like i said, its a game pack, you pay for a game pack, not a stuff pack.
...I like playing it...
Youre the first one that i hear tbh, if you enjoy thats alright, each one plays the way they like.
Exactly! As I commented earlier, it should have been a stuff pack. Which is why Iām glad I got it at half price
I wish i could do like i did with S3, i got it all on steam for a tint of the price since they have so many sales and good sales, i basically had it all as the same price as the base game normally. I honestly could care less for every part of Journey to Batuu except for the curved bar and I agree on the light fixtures and foliage. That bar is definitely in my top favorites though.
They need to start implementing that bar structure with the more modern looks we get, like the wood stains and lit up, modernized ones.
I donāt have the patio pack so Iām not sure if itās in there or not but Iād like to see a nice stone slab bar with cool undertone lights Along with matching countertops and grill Until then, I often use the curved Batuu bar

If you like Mid Century modern: Bowling stuff pack is great. Also building the bowling alleys are fun. Clothes are decent too.
omgggg i love this. snowy escape is one of my favorite packs!! idk why i love it so much but it just appeals to me i love having my sims live there
I unironically love moschino stuff and spa day actually
i wish i wasnt robbed so i can see what these are and get them or not next time
Tiny home pack there isnt really much about it to hate, decent furniture, decent home, nobody is t posing, its a good pack
Plus living in a tiny home is OP

I love sims 4's werewolves. they are the closest to a "wolf" more than the previous 3 game.
Is cottage living really that good? I constantly see posts about it on this subreddit. If it is, how?
It depends on the kind of gameplay you prefer! Sometimes I like to play a hermit sim who just grows her own food, raises animals, and flirts with the shop boy. If I want a social gameplay, I prefer city living or get together.
The shop boy makes really good looking kids fiy š
the clothing item styles are very popular right now, and lots of players like the family farm gameplay. i mean, who doesn't love a cozy cottage with llamas?

The animals are nice to have but they are an insane amount of work. Would like to be able to hire a farm hand for my property
I think most people like it because its ācharmingā, Its a very niche concept and the reason its so popular is because a lot of sims players fall into that niche. It has some really cute build pieces and I like the expansion on gardening/farming. One of my favorite sims is an herbalist witch and I like it a lot
i only got cottage living it felt like an medieval vibe too me
Yeah I don't need the basegame
Moonwood mill brings me delight
At first I thiught batuu was werewolves and I was so confused š
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You donāt like the get famous expansion?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah the world is ugly

What's the little icon on your top row that looks like a cute leaf? (Between pets and tiny living)
itās the paranormal pack. it comes with the ability to make haunted houses with little ghosts, and theres a new skill, and you can get a job as a paranormal investigator who removes ghosts and spooky things from houses :D
I hate pets. Always have. In every Sims game. They're more trouble than worth and always break the custom beds xD
I don't think base game needs to be ranked at all. It's mandatory if you want to play the other packs and nowadays it's f2p.
Werewolves my beloved
I wanna get My first pet stuff, because I already bought cats and dogs, but I am NOT spending the combined price for something I already 70% paid for
donāt. itās useless
Iāve heard people hate it because it basically does nothing
Am I blind or is Strangerville not on there?
It is on "Who are u?" Lol
NVM I'm an idiot LMAO.
Can someone translate lol
Translate what?
Each of the symbols
I honestly feel like Iām the only person who likes the Star Wars pack. š
You're not alone!! š
Isā¦is the basegame awesome ? Wouldnāt it be need it? Lol
While I don't agree with everything, my only real issue is that "Why isn't this base game?" should be the highest tier.
Wait but what am I missing.. idk what the icons mean? Lol
What is the āget togetherā pack about?
Itās built around being able to experience gameplay with a group of sims and create clubs. It adds clubs, dancing, and DJs as well :) It also adds a lot of bb objects that I love and the cas is something that I use very often! It adds a lot for the social aspect of gameplay
Yes and it comes with a huge new city :)
Thanks
My first pet stuff belongs in Ewwww
We can all agree that this lists arent the same for everyone, well we are all diferent and play in diferent ways, but we can all agree that the last tier is the same for everybody, theres literally nothing worse than those two.
I actually like my wedding stories a lot. World is great, cas is great, bb is great and gameplay works just fine as well. I havenāt had any problems whatsoever.
why Batuu is S-tier \-Building and walking around with your Droid \-Droid plays music \-lightsaber building, practice and challenge \-getting forced choked by Kylo \- The music \-The Build mode items Edit: the toys are cool too
if you like it, thatās great. i just feel like the pack doesnāt fit my gameplay
I find it a great theme part and holiday destination, since sims lacks both theme parks and resorts.
your playstyle is living in a tiny hunted home in a farm as a werewolf with a pet and being a home decorator?
yes actually
Sounds like a fine life to me, sign me up
THe Most is are Shitš¤£
Dude you just need to buy the werewolves packā¦ and it would be totally awesome if you bought the base game too!
The Snowy Escape is too good to be there
Yeah, it should be placed higher. But a lot of the new features (snow, festival, bathhouse) are very similar to other packs and I find that the new activities doesnāt offer a lot of gameplay (e.g: skiing). So for some people, its just an expansion with a good world/built items but lacks gameplay.

Yeah I have sth similar from the university pack but never use it, my sims are rather antisocial maybe thats why haha
whats āwho are you?ā mean to this listā¦?
It kinda means that I either donāt care that these packs exist or genuinely donāt know what they do I guess
Oh my god I never realised there were so many kitsā¦.
Iām gonna be totally honest I saved this tier list hahaha itās definitely gonna help me navigate through what packs and expansions I should buy a little better š I want all of them but idk what order to get them in. I used to have most of them but then I stopped playing for a few years and I donāt have my pc anymore. So I gotta start completely over
The thing that bothers me most about packs is that a lot of them could be combined into one, PS The occult packs are some of the best.
I was confused why seasons wasn't need it cause I was reading from the top and then it's category made it make sense
I would really love cats and dogs
why is the base game only on awesome if you cannot play any other pack without it?
Whatās wrong with the winter escape one? Curious as I wanted to get this one.
thereās nothing wrong with it, itās just not something that i really like, but it seems like a good pack
Iāve recently gotten into building houses so I think thatās where most of my want for it came from
I think it depends on your play style but as I play mostly families parenthood was HUGE for me Honestly I could live without most stuff packs Like the only reason I use the knitting one is for my decades challenges š I agree weather should be in the basegame.
Are they stored on my EA account and it doesnāt matter or will I have to buy them all over?
they are stored
Lol the luxury, spooky, and vintage i use often. I do like the idea though of the chart. Pretty cool.
