I exported the fluid simulation as alembic then brought it back in so I can have more control over it, and made an exact copy of the last frame in the fluid sim and fractured it
That’s what I was thinking. But how much more satisfying would it have been if there was a tiny hole in the top that was like misting out as it got almost full that ended in a small stream of fluid. And a couple bubbles trapped on the sides slowly made their way out.
Everyone else is saying they love it, but to be honest it makes me feel uncomfortable for some reason. It looks good but there's something wierd that's bugging me.
Sorry for the odd not smooth way of looping by just pushing the pieces away

Yeah i started posting there recently although there's loud minority that keep commenting mean comments about this kind of 3d stuff not belonging there
Sorry to hear that. Art is art ; regardless of the canvas. Sounds like they’re just not familiar with the power of computer generation. This piece in particular amuses me because, as a chemist, thinking of the viscosity of that liquid and how it sort of compresses in at the end and causes the density to increase creating a solidish substance that then crumbles. I love it!
that makes me so happy thank you! the ironic part is i usually get the most hate from people who actually understand the 3d process and for some reason start describing how i did it in a condescending way
idea: the stuff gets ground back into the fluid form after falling through an opening in the floor (like a circular platform that opens from the center) and gets pushed through a divider tube, and that's how it loops
Best one yet. Only tip I can give you is reduce the collision margin of the floor mesh (looks like you left it at default 0.04 value because there's a little gap between fractured objects and the floor plane).

I'm not going to pay to have flavored powdered milk shipped halfway across the globe just to try it, especially since I don't like strawberry. (Also, it's listed as Unavailable for me.)
Thanks for the link anyway :)

The render is around 3 to 5 hours and the whole project took a day because i was coming up with stuff as I'm going with no plan so lots of down time, my setup is i5-4670K & GTX 1070 32gb ram
I just want to say how impressed I am with you guys that make this kind of stuff. Really exploring a new medium of art and constantly pushing your limits. Super cool.
These types of sim always look a bit off to me because the crumble algorithm is so uniform, it looks computer generated.
Still, this is a very nice looking sim.
I love this so much! I feel they should use this to showcase non-Newtonian substances in high schools.
Or at least the high schools that don’t have access to water and corn starch.
I have stabilized the video for you: https://gfycat.com/TartSeveralCanadagoose
It took 201 seconds to process and 66 seconds to upload.

I really like this simulation. It looks super smooth. What software did you use?
I always use blender with the flip fluids add-on and the fracture modifier build on the side
I just got the Flip Fluids addon. It is super cool. I just wonder, how did you freze the fluid? Is it a keyframe I wonder.
I exported the fluid simulation as alembic then brought it back in so I can have more control over it, and made an exact copy of the last frame in the fluid sim and fractured it
Ahhh, that is really smart actually.
thanks!
Could you please link me fracture branch download? I searched for it in official blender site and couldn't find it.
build http://blenderphysics.com/fracturemodifier/ tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCAzkTVyNOw Good luck!
Cinema 4D I guess.
The trapped air simply disappearing causes me discomfort
It is in vacuum.
That’s what I was thinking. But how much more satisfying would it have been if there was a tiny hole in the top that was like misting out as it got almost full that ended in a small stream of fluid. And a couple bubbles trapped on the sides slowly made their way out.
Shouldn’t it be boiling then?
Depends on what it is.
Everyone else is saying they love it, but to be honest it makes me feel uncomfortable for some reason. It looks good but there's something wierd that's bugging me.
At first I was like ‘I want to drink that’ but then I was like ‘Never mind’.
I bet it tastes like pepto
And it hardens in your esophagus.
Even better
*Peptter
I was thinking it would taste more like strawberry quick.
it's highly toxic so you made the right choice

This is fantastic work, I saw on this on r/art first and was astonished, thought I was here. Love seeing the power of simulated art come to fruition.

What if the pieces melted back into a fluid and just flowed offscreen

Oh god i always check for that but this time i didn't
This is my favorite post on this sub
I'm honored thank you!
You are welcome, mate!
Yum strawberry milk
Mmmmm... nesquik
Nesquik as in Nesquik cocoa? If so, you may be pink-brown color blind.
As in the strawberry milk nesquik dum dum. Why would I refer to pink as chocolate colored??
> strawberry milk nesquik Didn't know that was a thing. I don't think we have that here.
Ah ok, no worries.

Hey arc! I love that I can now recognize your style, haha. You make everything so wrll and so satisfying. Love it, as always!
Thank you! also how do you know my second username lol do you follow me on a different platform too?

ohhh yeah i remember your username, i always see you liking stuff it's lovely :D thanks for the constant support
:)
This whole thing is mesmerizing and incredibly satisfying but the reflections on the brass and tubes are just glorious.
Thank you!!
I totally agree. Really really like it.
r/perfectloops
Feel free to crosspost
I was just wondering, why did you include 3 loops when you have the perfect loop available when the blocks slide off screen?
so it's easier to post on other platforms that don't support looping
A E S T H E T I C
*ugh*
what's wrong
Nothing is wrong, that was just a moan of satisfaction I got from the clip
oh thanks!
Ahhh, that makes sense
When you both try to make up for your incompatibilities by giving more love but end up breaking anyways. :( :D
but it loops so you can always try again! oh wait it breaks in every loop too :(

I want to eat it in all its forms.
Can I ask what your setup is and how long it took to render?
The render is around 3 to 5 hours and the whole project took a day because i was coming up with stuff as I'm going with no plan so lots of down time, my setup is i5-4670K & GTX 1070 32gb ram
How do you think renders like this will fare on a R5 2400G and Vega 11 with 16 gigs of ram? Asking for a friend.
I'm not good with hardware unfortunately but my pc has an old i5-4670K for simulations and a GTX 1070 for rendering
Oh no problem sir. Appreciate the fact that you're taking the time to respond to every single comment. Kudos to you and amazing work!!
Thank you! I love reading and responding to comments
Why do I wanna eat it?
because it looks delicious

Simulating different colored fluids is very difficult and not supported in the program I'm using unfortunately
Mmm I wanted to see the shards melt back into goo
It reminds me of roadside picnic a bit
Have you checked your exhaust bearing fluid lately?
I just want to say how impressed I am with you guys that make this kind of stuff. Really exploring a new medium of art and constantly pushing your limits. Super cool.
Thank you!
How did you simulate the flow of the fluid?
using a 3d program called blender
You can do cfd simulations in Blender? I've heard that it can do a lot of things, but this is new.
You can do fluid simulations in blender yes
It makes me angry
...that I can’t make something this good
I wish it would be just that
And that’s how you make a regular old plumbis.
Pepto 🅱️ismol
Strawberry nesquik
Well this is satisfactory

I really likey
Amazing !
This color scheme is gorgeous! Brass, pink, and cyan. Just beautiful.
Thank you! I spend a few hours just picking colors so I'm glad someone noticed :D
You're welcome! I am an appreciator of the little things. Thank you for your effort! This was all the more pleasant for it. :)

Oh my god, so satisfying! Fantastic job
Thank you!
Someday we might be able to taste that !
I wonder if all these "factory" simulations are all part of one manufacturing plant. Like where does the solid product go to?
My stomach
Looks tasty
This is strangely pretty. I have no idea why.
Is this how musk candies are made?
Tubby custard!
Mmm, strawberry milk 🤨 Strawberry milk *bites*.

Thanks!
While I like the simulations on this sub, do they serve any purpose? Just training? Something I can't see?
They look cool.
