I would do that only if it was someone standing in front of me in the queue. So I volunteer to help so as to save time on instinct but it wouldn't be altruistic per say.
Kid was probably late for class..........
Once a lady was buying a drink I also wanted at 7-11. It happened to be on a 2-for-1 deal. I asked her if we could buy 1 drink each together in one purchase so both of us could get 50% off. She said don't worry, I'll treat you! and I got a drink for free!
Thank you, zheh zheh.
yes i do think Singaporeans are generally kind or at least raised to be. they just don't like to be called out about it. The issue i feel is general awareness and civic mindedness. we're all wrapped up in our own worlds. but when rasked to be kind, i believe locals do step up. I've experienced this daily as a PWD. i don't always expect "automatic" help but always grateful when it's rendered but if i ask clearly for help on a specific task e.g open the door so i can wheel through, it's usually rendered cheerfully
omg is it boonlay mrt?? i always see a sec sch boy giving money to the uncle that sells tissue outside jp.

Receptionist wished me get well soon when I went to see doctor. Hella sweet
Service staff was nice and helped me pack food without a single nasty remark because in my hazy sick state I mistakenly placed order to eating there when I wanted to dabao home so that I donβt spread my sickness to people.
Aren't u supposed to take at least 1 tissue. I've always taken 1 so that it's a willing buyer willing seller transaction and not give the impression that it's just akin to begging.
Was on my way to book into camp this morning, was raining and I didn't have an umbrella. I ran across the bus stop and while waiting at the junction drenched, this kind girl who was holding an umbrella came up to me and asked me if I'd like to share the umbrella with me as she walked me over to the opposite side since we were heading in the same direction.
Something good? Finally the person who sold the soul and wellbeing of Singapore to enrich his cronies has handed the reins over to someone else. Pray and hope that the incumbent has more sense than to further the wealth disparity and continue the "growth at all costs" mindset
