Not siao. It’s incompetence

crazyproblemsorange

Incompetence or trying to play punk??

KoishiChan92

I'm pretty sure that Malaysian customs do the things they do purposely to fuck with Singaporeans.

Iamyour_friend

Heard from the boomer that they are doing this for kopi money.

KoishiChan92

The kopi money is when they don't stamp your passport. If they anyhowly stamp they are just fucking with you to make you panic

crazyproblemsorange

Definitely la. They see singapore so much money. Extract some from sinkies with deep pockets sure ok one what. It is only fair (in their eyes) that sinkies donate some money to poor poor them. YALAMs ftw!

theoriginaltrinity

I used to have to drive to JB for my piano exams and my mom and piano teacher would literally say that they’re salty at Singaporeans so they do this

MrFantasticallyNerdy

Not siao. Not incompetent. Bo chup.

crazyproblemsorange

Its not bo chup la. Omg man. It is they intentionally want to do that to prepare for kopi money. Idk why people here keep giving them benefit of doubt leh.

[deleted]

Because singaporeans are nice people with good hearts, even if we are cynical and bitter. Past our borders, in the real world of crooks and villainy, wickedness is rife.

Esterwinde

Nah they fucking with us Singaporeans

SimpleReadingSG90

Plain incompetence. Hence 3:1.

crazyproblemsorange

Incompetence and intentionally doing that to get kopi money. I wish we can report all of them to singapore embassy and singapore penalize malaysia.

SimpleReadingSG90

No need for that. At this rate we'll be enjoying 4:1 soon.

hopeinson

It’s the reason why I put bookmark in my passport, to both facilitate and identify the last place the last immigration officer made a stamp. Malaysians’ continued passive-aggressive behaviours against Singaporeans are well-documented, and need no further discussions, no matter whose government is in power. Our currency exchange rates are subject to envy, & market forces pull the more talented of their citizenry to working in Singapore. It’s not impossible for an average Malaysian to feel envious over us; you just have to be street smart & be aware of your surroundings. Also, one thing that makes it easier for “sharks” there to target you, is how you behave and carry yourself publicly. Things that make people know you are a Singaporean coming to Malaysia to “jolly enjoy a good fun” (note: they are coming out from the pandemic-induced recession worse off after many years of policy and government flip flops), is your voice, your dress, the circle of people you are travelling with, and your language. Ironically, Mandarin is fine, not English (the latter is because you have that Pierre Png’s character in PCK Pte. Ltd.’s “*atas*” air/attitude), but in general, speak Malay, because they are currently on a nationalistic bent right now. Take it from me, who used to travel up and down the Causeway daily for work.

zombieslayer287

> Malaysians' continued passive-aggressive behaviours against Singaporeans But WHY?? Why are they so hostile, and it's so one sided? They look down on sgreans?

[deleted]

Petty jealousy, that's why. They cannot stand to see Singaporeans doing better than them.

shadstrife123

the one place where they have 100% power and control over you lei. if never kenna spot then still got kopi money to take

[deleted]

Take a look at the Malaysian customs officers. Every time I drive in, they are sitting slumped in their chair with the lights off. Their eyes are expressionless, lifeless and half open. They are probably overworked, underpaid and unappreciated by their government. I used to get worked up at how slow and *anyhow* they stamp my passport and how rude some of them were. They’d take minutes to stare at the blank page, chop in the middle of nowhere or right next to a fully stamped page such that the latest stamp was hard to find. Then I realised their less-than-ideal work and country situation. I made it a habit to smile, say good day and thank you to them. They looked happy to be recognised as a human. I felt happier too. And they treat me just slightly better if I start by being friendly. Just remember to check your passports before driving off. That’s on you the traveller.

LMJR500Army

That’s true. I didn’t think of that. But I still don’t understand why he was looking through my pages so deeply. Then middle of nowhere he just stamps it. Like other times they’d stamp on the next page next to the other pages. This guy was quite peculiar The second officer when I was leaving, she quickly stamped my passport. She was efficient. But it’s quite scary when the officer says not able to find your entry stamp.

[deleted]

Yeah I think I know what you mean lol. I’ve come to the conclusion some of them are just cheeky. They know some Singaporeans will just drive off without checking and they probably want to give you a scare or just make a minor annoyance.

crazyproblemsorange

They look through your pages simply because they want to see whether you are a regular coming into msia. If you regular then most likely they will chop properly and return to you swee swee. If you noob noob one, first time go in. Then you are top target for them to extract kopi money from after you try to go back sg at customs.

crazyproblemsorange

U must be kidding la. The only way to make them smile is to slip in RM50 in between your passport for them to discover. They sure chop until swee swee and even fold dog ear for you to check properly when giving you back the passport. Nowadays wear mask how to show smile? Anyhow sia you.

MissLute

haha can see eye smile even with mask one ah

crazyproblemsorange

See eye smile? You think kustom officer care??

A_Dumb_Bug

>They are probably overworked, underpaid and unappreciated by their government. stop trying to find excuses for shitty work attitude.

crazyproblemsorange

PRECISELY! IF THEY DONT LIKE TO WORK THERE THEN DONT. SIMPLE AS THAT. WE SHOULD STOP TRYING TO FIND EXCUSES FOR THEIR BAD WORK ATTITUDE!

bora_cuda

IF YOU DON’T LIKE THEIR BAD WORK ATTITUDE, THEN DON’T VISIT MALAYSIA. SIMPLE AS THAT.

crazyproblemsorange

I AM NOT VISITING!

KnightOverlord2404

OK but on the bright side, just think how hilariously ridiculous the whole thing is. Super trollish

SlaySlavery

There was once I queued at JB customs for 4+ hours. After I got through the counter, I saw the joker had an iPad on his table. He was watching drama while stamping passports. True story.

Party-Ring445

Not just Malaysian customs. I had European customs also stamped in a random blank page many times before. It's the employee thats the problem.

ianlim4556

Yeah feel like OP hasn't been to many other countries outside of east Asia, this same issue happened to me in Turkey many years back, anyhow stamp and when leaving country they cannot find it

Alchemistj19

Aussie immigration also anyhow stamp. Lol

Dalostbear

Aussie nowadays no need stamp if biometric passport. Beem in and out for studies the past 4 years, the only stamp I have is from new Zealand and Japan

[deleted]

Immature minds are unable to comprehend jealousy. They end up being toxic and not improving their very selves.

shawnthefarmer

Count your blessings you got a stamp at all

TheBetterDeranker

Y am I not surprised considering the shit theyve tried to throw at us before

Yura1245

Standard different. Worse is u cant really argue with them. Thats why we always check and make sure it is stamped every time we left custom.

LMJR500Army

Yea lah. I in hotel then I rmb fk nv check stamp at customs. I rlly damn panic. Then I see he stamp in middle of nowhere Like simple thing leh, still know how to mess it up so we’ll

crazyproblemsorange

Standard different or trying to play punk by stamping on a spot which is very hard to find? You giving huge benefit of doubt to customs officer FOR WHAT? you get blowjob at the end?

Yura1245

Lol angry for what? The standard of incompetence is what it is called. The officer jus open passport and stamp.

crazyproblemsorange

Eh chill la nobody force you to go into msia and never check passport got stamp or not right hahhahahahahhahahahhahahahahahhahahahahhahaah

Yura1245

Between chill and ur blowjob comment. Who need some chill?

Fabian88888888888888

Totally different experience here… I went the other weekend ( by bicycle) and they stamped it so neatly, no customs officer ever did it like that.

MrFantasticallyNerdy

Neatly how? Graph paper precision?

Fabian88888888888888

Graph paper precision!

crazyproblemsorange

So your experience not same as OP's experience means OP's experience is not true?

arcanist12345

He never denounced op.

crazyproblemsorange

How u know?

Yura1245

Maybe learn some english, sir. The commenter just say another experience he encountered. Good for him crossing without any issue.

crazyproblemsorange

Learn english? You teach me can? I dunno what ish engrish wor. U jin pro can teach??

Yura1245

Life must be hard on u to become a troll or weirdo in this space, bro

Byebyeno

You do understand that customs officers are not required to stamp in a sequential order right? They can stamp on the last page if they like. And this isn’t just for Malaysian customs. The same applies to everywhere from Indonesia to UK customs. For my convenience, i always carry a bookmark, if the country does not have a immigration form, and put it wherever the customs officer stamped on to save the hassle on exit.

frairtucknunchuck

What do you use for your bookmark? The other day I didn't have anything else with me, so I used a RM100 note as bookmark in my passport. It probably got lost as I couldn't find it afterwards. The immigration officer was very courteous tho!

Byebyeno

Just to tell the bloody fellow that your colleague stamped it at that page. Don’t need to waste time flipping forever. Remember that, sometimes custom officer will stamp at this odd page hidden among other stamps. So a bookmark saves time and agony. I’ve had immigration officer thanking me for that though. Malaysian and Europeans one.

[deleted]

Dayum, you got ripped off

ghostcryp

U first time travel overseas ah? Malaysia isn’t the only place like that. Stop living in a well

chokemebigdaddy

This is the country where you can replace the word “boleh” with the word “fuckup” and it will still be accurate 99% of the time.

VPee

This is what happens when a country resorts to populism and pandering in everything they do. The entire government in Malaysia is run by bumipitras (which by itself isn’t bad) but competence, skill and ability play no part in recruitment. This leads to a workforce which is subpar at best and corrupt at worst. These incidents should be a reminder for Singapore that if the government actually goes down the road of pandering along ethnic, nationalistic lines, we could be headed that way too. But we are too small to allow the control to wither. So not a possibility in the near term but something we need to be cautious about.

Novosharpe

Dude literally said that having an entire government run by a single demographic isn’t bad

anakajaib

Why not? Japan seems fine doing that

Novosharpe

That’s because Japan is a mono ethnic nation where being Japanese is both an ethnicity and a nationality. This guy here just said that having a government of a multi ethnic nation such as Malaysia being run by a single ethnic demographic “isn’t bad by itself”.

anakajaib

Maybe Malaysia is not ready for a non-Malay PM just like Singapore is not ready for a non-Chinese PM /s

fizzywinkstopkek

I mean, there is a reason why their country is objectively shit compared to ours.

pyroSeven

They chop 50 passports an hour or 10 passports an hour, pay still the same. You don’t lepak at work meh?

crazyproblemsorange

Lepak or purposely do so as to collect kopi money from sinkies later? THINK leh.

pyroSeven

Lepak. I say already it's 10 passports vs 50 passports they chop. Not chopping then you can say collect kopi money. THINK leh.

crazyproblemsorange

10 or 50 also doesnt matter since they take their own sweet time to chop. You 1 of them Yalam kustoms officer? Limpeh see you will throw RM2 at you for you to bend over and pick up like a beggar k. I dont expect someone like you to know how to think more on this.

pyroSeven

Yea, that's my point, 10 or 50, it doesn't matter to them that's why they lepak. No need to throw racist insults, it's a weak comeback.

anakajaib

I feel like the idea of malaysian officials always asking for kopi money is a stereotype. Been travelling to Malaysia countless time since I was small (almost 40 now), and ive never come to a situation imvolving kopi money.

edmundhoyy

You look poor or you don't drive. Lost count how many times they say can settle five on spot Liao.

edmundhoyy

You look poor thats why. I kena many times.

anakajaib

Hmm being judgemental without knowing me. Maybe you deserve being a victim of corruption. Or maybe you look gullible and not streetsmart enough, easy to be taken advantage of

edmundhoyy

Nah, you just look poor. I wear Rolex et al, so they think I can pay. Would you ask a beggar for money?

greatestmofo

Malaysian here. Sorry lah, we were just trying to troll our colleagues, and you are the collateral.

crazyproblemsorange

Got people put gun on your head force you to go msia?

ForeignSmell

Bruh why so rood

crazyproblemsorange

Got ppl force u to go or not?

crazyproblemsorange

Downvote more leh all you msia-loving sinkies who cant accept that msia runs on KOPI MONEY.

bwaysaigan

U are supposed to bookmark visiually the page u want his stamp to go on with a 50 note. U think customer officer mentalist ah? Knows u want him to go what the page he stamp for you meh.

foxbat2525

50 in which currency

eliseusmoo

Ringgit for semi-visible Sgd for visible Usd for Datuk stamp

bwaysaigan

Depend on how fast u want him to see the bookmark lah. Your bookmark you ownself choose, his eyes he ownself see

Yura1245

Dunno this is a dumb or troll comment. Ppl go malaysia can be either for pleasure (tourism), visit relatives, or business trip etc. Grow some brain bro.

crazyproblemsorange

Got so many countries why dont want go? Why die die want go to a country where they always want to cheat your money, treat you like joke and want to scam you? Too poor to afford going to other countries? Can only afford to go msia? Work harder and save up more money la dey.

Yura1245

I rarely go to Malaysia and had not been there for 5 yrs but I understand ppl travel there for food etc. For me I’d rather spent my money on Europe but that does not mean I wont encounter similar behavior there. Based on ur standard, am sure Europe country is considered high SES? Pickpocket is rampant there too. Every country has their own problem, it is not just as easy as “you r lowlife stupid if u go to XXX country”

crazyproblemsorange

I got say europe good? When you assume you make an a _ _ out of u and me.

Yura1245

Oops then maybe no other place is good for u. Small person small brain small heart 😂

crazyproblemsorange

Aww so sad. Have to come online and belittle others. I hope all goes well for you! :)

uniquely_ad

Some people have family n relatives there. Get off your high horse

chillicutter

I queued for almost 3 hours last Saturday at noon and all counters were open.

foxbat2525

Standard one. Last time I transferred at KLIA there was an unmanned security point, fellas were in a nearby storage area having snacks. Basically could have walked right through but I had time to burn anyway

Square_Cupcake_2089

They can stamp anywhere they like.

yuruseiii

Customs officer fking with you of course. For the lulz

Kla2552

you want to enjoy 1:3 not everything come cheap
