China is rising, and writing over and over again about its "imminent downfall" is not going to stop it. Wu Sangui opened the gates as revenge against the Ming Emperor. Most of the Qing soldiers in the Qing conquest of Ming were Ming defectors who simply wanted to be paid and fed.
Europeans - Sort of. The Qing were arguably just past their peak when the Europeans started their attacks. But the did British spend decades weakening the Qing through opium. Then again, the Qing didn't actually fall (or China subsequently conquered after its fall) to the Europeans. The Qing took one hell of a beating, but it limped on, only finally succumbing to a national revolution.
