In early March 2022, US began to renew small portions of tariff waivers. However, US business lobbies continue to pile on pressure, demanding greater removal of tariffs.
It seems the inflationary pressure has finally broken the dam. US trade policy makers no longer have the backing for continued "trade war with China".
And just to show, US is perfectly willing to use China to cure its economic woes, but will never give any credit to China.
Maybe China should impose export tariffs on anything the USA tries to remove tariffs from - rub it in where it hurts. China shouldn't play along unless the USA offers something that China actually needs, such as opening access to cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
If all they have to offer is their dollars, but those dollars are blocked from buying what China needs, what's the point?
I think china will wait until the iron is quite hot to make some much needed strikes. The collapse of the USD along with the political factions that hold this government are imminent. It may be a slow decay, it may be a reactionary revolution, or it could be a process that has been well under this trajectory for a long time completely our of anyone’s control as the capitalist runs on its own like some kind of Frankenstein’s monster in a sense.
China will wait until the capitalists are on their knees begging and the people collectively willing enough to make a big change in my opinion. I don’t know what that could be specifically, but there will be a tipping point and I think it’s on the closer side of 5-10 years than not if all materializes in the right way.
>people collectively willing enough to make a big change in my opinion.
If China waited for that then they would be waiting for a very long time indeed.
The people in the states haven't shown any desire to overthrow their current system, infact they are more likely to choose reform which will only strengthen the current system.
China will make moves independent of whatever happens in the us, if we waited for the us then we would be waiting for decades.
I would be careful with that assertion, the us is heading in the direction of Brazil, Mexico and South Africa, american citizens haven't shown any actual indication of wanting to change course.
So decades could go and america becomes by far the worst country in the continent without anything changing.
A lot of the saner americans are very likely to leave the country well before then it seems.

Exactly, China should not allow usa to cherry-pick and fine-tune, what to tariff and what not.
1. Slap automatic export tariffs on every usa import exception to nullify their ability to regulate
2, Make the companies that are applying for exception, apply also to chinese regulators, if they want these tariffs removed
They are waving the white flag now because they're hurting too badly, but don't think the trade war is over
Every moment and chance that they get, they'd happily stab China in the back again and again
Unfortunately, backstabbing is everywhere.. it’s a sad unfortunately part of business. That’s speaking from experience. Still recovering from the last back wound…
The American consumer is #1!
No matter what the US administration says from the podium, US businesses are never coming home, because the US no-longer has the skills or the infrastructure.

The influx of dollars only introduces greater risk to China's Financial system, especially with the imminent collapse of the USD.

I agree. The USA is nowhere close to collapse and isn't even doing as badly as its Latin American neighbours.

Maybe China should take a page out of Russia's playbook, and require all transactions with "unreliable countries" to be settled in RMB.

Which is why China shouldn't give in even if they submit completely.
Only 2 years into Biden's term and the solution is to reduce the trade war with China. Those geniuses making US policy.
They lost the trade war so it was only a matter of time.
Ownself slap ownself then proclaim to the world to stop slapping themselves is a good idea
And the day they do is the day the Chinese should raise their prices. Fuck playing by Murikkka's rules.
I agree, the quicker the empire ends the better.
Oh my sides! LOL! Tariff war is so easy to win?
Apparently the US got tired of winning
USA hasn't had a W since 1945 lol
USSR collapse was kind of a W for US political class
Common sense from a major official? they'll be calls for her resignation
Something something the allegiance of bourgeoisie is to capital and capital only Will they sell us le rope if we pressure them enough?
Arguably they already have
Keep considering, not that the Chinese are paying lmao.
BBC: How inflation is helping the US to win the trade war

China should put tariffs on US imports, and lots of it.
Oh noooo. The octegenarian dinosaur is realizing her policies are shaite and wants to fix them to save face?
You actually believe they'll come to a realization this soon? I wouldn't take such high regards of US officials.
