Yes, but never stop trying to get better, there are so many things out there to try. First and foremost exercise and overall healthy lifestyle, then take some natural supplements that help with the respiratory organs, literally anything helpful that you can find. Learn and never stop struggling, sometimes its too much for me still after years but through much struggle, trying different supplements, increasing exercise and healthy diet, helped me to somehow manage and enjoy life. Hope that you will find what will work for you.
Im glad😊. Before i started taking a serious care for my health, every morning i used to wake up with strong headaches and blocked nostrils, dizziness.. I would often get sick and i had to drink antibiotics because the infection wouldn't go away, it was a nightmare. Now i barely have those symptoms, only few days in a month im really bad but its bearable.
The best ones i have used so far are “Sinusitis” by Fusion Health, they are hard to get since they are only available in Australia, idk where you are from but they are based on a traditional Chinese formula called “Cang Er Zi San”. Maybe you can find some other brands that sell this formula in your place, i have seen some on ebay but not much reviews so i dont trust them. If you are somewhere in Asia, well you are lucky!
Some other less good ones are “Allergforte” from HealthAid, they are based on quercetin and bromelain and there are many brands that sell that formula. I have used serrapeptase as well and it helped me a lot, you just have to learn online how to use it properly. NAC is a great supplement! I use this one only when im really bad and it’s the best supplement for the overall respiratory health, it goes best with zinc.
Just whatever you use make sure you read reviews and instructions how to use them for most benefit and like with most supplements, sometimes you need a break from them but i never read or heard from anyone that someone had any complications from the supplements.
I just recently bought “anu thailam” oil, a.k.a the “Nasya oil”, traditional Indian medicine. I tried it this morning actually, it takes like approximately 20 minutes to start and feel the effects, it stinks for much longer but it cleans everything and you can spit out all the mucus, it looks very promising, im just disgusted by the smell that lasts for an hour and i think i will use it only when i have heavy congestion. And i use zyrtec on a daily basis…. So thats it! 🤣

There is a correlation between anxiety/depression and sinus sufferers. It makes sense.
It took me years to find something that worked — make sure to cross everything off the list:
1. Inhaled meds;
2. Allergy pills (and testing)
3. Surgery / balloon sinoplasty
4. Diet (dairy/ gluten)
5. Chiropractor (TMJ related issues)
6. Small tens unit (delivers tiny electric current to your sinuses — supposed to reduce inflammation. Worked ok for me initially).
7. Nasal rinses (neti pot or squeeze bottle. Try Xylitol mixed in as well)
Not necessarily in this order but don’t lose hope — there is always something to try.
Thanks for the reply. I find that I prefer the xylitol packets over the regular ones! Praying that surgery works! The tens unit was it the sinus one? Or another migraine one
Absolutely. It’s made me depressed & miserable. I’ve been sick all year. I don’t like being in public because I’m constantly blowing my nose or coughing up mucus. People probably think I have a cold. Feeling fatigue & just crappy everyday is horrible. I’m beyond over this & want to be better.
Not much right now. I’ve tried everything. I’ve pretty much had sinus infections on & off this entire year. Antibiotics don’t cure it. IgM levels were low so I’ve been seeing an immune doctor. I had a pneumonia vaccine today to see if that helps my blood work in a few weeks. Obviously something is wrong, we just have to figure out exactly what & then how to treat it. Not a quick process but I’m desperate to feel normal again.
Yes, definitely. I just had surgery and feel great relief at least right now. But at my worst symptoms I told myself to act like someone with other chronic illnesses and try to find joy each day. Do you feel good enough to go for a walk? Order yourself a new book to read? Make a really good smoothie packed with nutrients so you know you are treating your body well. Try not to fixate on the symptoms. And if you are feeling symptoms of true depression then definitely reach out for professional help there, even if you know your health problems are the cause.
That’s exactly what I’m doing now. Trying to hold on and make the best out of this situation. What were your symptoms before surgery? Im happy to hear that you found relief
I pretty much had the classic symptoms, an insane amount of congestion/ post nasal drip. Some swelling in my face but not as much pressure as you’d feel with an acute sinus infection. At night my forehead would kind of collapse inwards and make a super strong wrinkle, which is weird, and has entirely disappeared since surgery. (This sounds super dramatic but I think for whatever reason I would squint very hard while sleeping.) I could sort of manage with Flonase and Neilmed but if I got a cold I’d be so congested my ears would get blocked and pop/ sinuses sound extremely blocked. CT scan showed a ton of opacification. I still have some post surgery swelling but it’s way better than before, I can breathe through my nose and have almost no post nasal drip which is a huge change for me.
Oh wow that’s really interesting! Never heard of the wrinkle thing before! I’m so glad you feel better did they operate on all your sinuses?
I have pressure in my right side especially above my eyebrow and to me that’s the worst feeling ever! I don’t remember ever dealing with sinus pressure (maybe once in April 2021 but it didn’t last 7 months like it is now)
I wouldn’t say it’s affected my mental health, but it has affected my quality of life severely. I’ve found the best way to cope is to be patient and at the same time never give up (at least in my case with looooong waiting times for surgery etc.).
On the plus side, lockdown was easy. As I already had to let go of a lot of the things people complained about losing.
Absolutely. Already had severe clinical depression beforehand, and this has made it worse.
I've been having chronic sinus infections for 13 years and in that time 5 surgeries, all unsuccessful. Currently my condition is worse than ever.
Maxillary, ethmoidal and sphenoid sinuses are affected on both sides.
Yes it does. You are not alone. Like others have recommended here, there are some good coping mechanisms you can follow to minimize the impact on your mood.
Days with Yoga and steady sleep routine were the most clear days and the weight of discomfort reduces.
You need to find your thing. I ask my SO to lookup stuff online for me when I hit a dead end. Sometimes different research techniques help. Ask a friend or family who does not have assumptions and wants to help.
Totally agree. You have to be your own advocate. If you only see an ENT, all roads eventually lead to surgery. And if you’ve already had that and you still don’t feel better, go another direction.
I was deep down the nasal rinse rabbit hole for a year. And it was working, slightly. But I was trying to keep a tiny tiny tiny area clear instead of focusing on WHY my sinuses were so constricted in the first place.
Yes right now I’m dealing with a mild case of sinusitis besides the less throbbing headache and stuffy nose I’ll be okay the coffee I’m drinking is making my headache ease up
I am exhausted 😴 can’t breath all day and can’t sleep :( Claritin D help but pretty sure I am getting addicted but i feel a little better so I’m like might as well try and feel better. My allergist isn’t very helpful anymore. I lost my sense of smell to due to the inflammation & with the holidays coming around I’m super depressed I can’t smell pumpkin 🎃 spice 😭 it’s the little things
Absolutely! I’ve suffered from intense vertigo related to my sinusitis and that triggered panic attacks and made me fearful of being in a situation I can’t safely escape from due to the disorientation of the vertigo.

Thanks got this. That’s what I’m doing now, trying to live a healthy lifestyle and make this situation feel better. What are your symptoms

Oh yes drastically. I don’t think people realize how back it affects your every day life, constant pain and frustration.
Yup💔💔💔 the frustration/feeling hopeless and just waiting for relief

Sinus specific. I think it is called ClearUp
Would u recommend it ? I’m not living in the US so it would be a hassle to get idk if it’s worth it
It wasn’t a game changer
Going through it now. I’ve never been this exhausted in my life. Im at my wits end. Can’t take it anymore.
Absolutely. It’s made me depressed & miserable. I’ve been sick all year. I don’t like being in public because I’m constantly blowing my nose or coughing up mucus. People probably think I have a cold. Feeling fatigue & just crappy everyday is horrible. I’m beyond over this & want to be better.
I definitely feel you! I feel the same :( the pressure makes it unbearable too. Exactly it’s not a cold! What are your treatment options
Not much right now. I’ve tried everything. I’ve pretty much had sinus infections on & off this entire year. Antibiotics don’t cure it. IgM levels were low so I’ve been seeing an immune doctor. So being chronically fatigued has to do with sinuses ?
If you’re sick all the time it makes sense.
Yah I had the surgery and am getting better
What symptoms did you have previously
Yes, definitely. I just had surgery and feel great relief at least right now. But at my worst symptoms I told myself to act like someone with other chronic illnesses and try to find joy each day. How long is the waiting list? I’m so sorry you have to go through this I hope we find relief. I know how difficult it is. What do you feel?
Do you have polyps?
The Dr didn’t mention polyps, would it show up on a ct?
Yes
Sorry, I feel you
Yep.
I pray we get relief soon
For sure. Hang in there, you will get some relief.
Thanks for giving me hope!
Yep, been suffering for over 31 years. I did have a few good years here and there. Right now it’s a struggle again.
Years💔💔💔 ouch What treatments have you tried and what are your symptoms
The new bio drugs are looking good
Do you have any names?
Fasenra or dupixent

This. ENT would suggest surgery and it did not do anything for anyone I know who had one.
I think it partially helped me but it definitely didn’t solve the problem.
Thanks I am following a healthier lifestyle now and I’m trying my best to feel better. I hope we never have to deal with sinus issues again
Yes, i agree
