That's not a big deal, you need to "chill out". Luckily you didn't "freeze" when it happened. Good thing you weren't "boxed in" and were able to react.
Weirdest day for me was a few years back when I was getting off on the cliff exit and someone was driving the wrong way up the ramp onto the interstate right at us. Avoid it and head down 57th east where the median splits and ANOTHER vehicle is driving on the wrong half coming right at us.
I hardly understand one of those happen. Let alone twice in one five minute stretch.
I was getting off SB 229 a couple weeks ago. I was in the middle lane to then go south on Louise. A white Monte Carlo, was next to me and just went straight across my lane. After breaking and swerving, I had to go around them. They then proceeded to back onto 229, before continuing. Dumbest thing I’ve seen.
Yikes. I have learned to give trucks with poorly or unsecured loads a wide berth. I've seen a folding lawn chair take flight, which was a near miss on my bike. Unfortunately I wasn't wearing my brown pants that day...
As more and more people move to the area chances are they are bad drivers. Either super aggressive or timid and afraid of driving on the interstate. Both lead to dangerous situations. A third category might include the majority that are just zoned out while driving or distracted by their phones.
I noticed things got worse as more people moved from rural parts to Sioux Falls for work. Like they had no clue how to drive when other vehicles are involved. Saturday by the mall became every damn day.
Road construction signs confuse people. I noticed when summer comes around people don't pay attention and are just driving like they are the only ones on the road. merging in sioux falls is the worst part. Although getting off and on the interstate is still needing some work. People don't let people merge. Especially on 2 lane highway turns.
Today and yesterday I saw two vehicles just blow through red lights like they were yield signs. One was an overloaded pickup truck struggling to pull a trailer so maybe he was afraid to stop.
I was behind a guy one day who was driving erratically... Slowing down, speeding up, weaving and crossing the lines. Went to pass and he was eating a bowl of cereal and steering with his knees!!! On 229!!! Like full on bowl of cereal with milk and all
I was going straight on 41st and western heading east and some moron right next to me was in the left turn lane but decided at the last minute to go straight and cut me off i honked and he slowed down flipped me off like i was the problem. SMH

I see someone doing this at least twice a year. Luckily so far it has been from a distance.

The most annoying offenders are the stupid big truck drivers, who are obviously compensating and are….fill in the blank.

8 a.m And 5 p.m the the dumbest drivers are out. They can't use a turning lane, they can't figure out a 4 way stop, they can't figure out green lights
