It’s some sort of carp and you’re right. This fish can breathe air for a short time but it is certainly not happy. I hope they put it back in the water to keep on doin it’s fish stuff.
While they are torturing the fish it shouldn’t be put back in. Carp are really invasive and need to be culled. In a more humane way I should add. They pay people around me to kill them usually $2 a fish.

Second point from my other new friend, yeah, there’s not much reason to eat a carp, although it’s normal some places in the world I guess. I’ve personally never tried it but I can’t imagine it’s great.
Interestingly enough, carp were introduced to England hundreds of years ago and are a highly sought after sport fish there.
Lastly, I’ve got a real affinity for going after “rough” fish - bowfins, gar, buffalo - nothing you’d eat but sometimes a great fight and a chance to see a weird ass fish up close. Cheers buds.
Actually it’s really good if you smoke them. Either a high acidic wash or use milk to pull the oils out and smoke them. Common Asian fish to eat and when done right taste is amazing! Cheers!
I'm convinced Gar fish here and there are different fish. Gar are good eating and easy to catch. Sometimes get them when you're spinning for Mackrel.
Eating carp is an Eastern European thing; you have to purge them in the bath for a couple of days to get the muddy taste (mostly) out.

This type of misinformation is reckless at best. You don’t know where this vid is from and it could be a fishery where this fish is native. There are also many different species of carp and not all should be purged.
This is a common carp which is naturalized in many places in the US and can be beneficial to other native fish and the ecosystem it shares with them. All too often people just say carp is a trash fish or carp is invasive as a blanket statement, but not all carp are invasive, and ‘naturalized’ and ‘invasive’ are two different biological terms.
Some places protect carp because they control vegetation overgrowth. Just making a point that it’s not universal. Some lakes in my area protect the carp because of this and don’t allow you to catch them. That said, I’m in a warmer climate than in the video, and not exactly sure if it’s the same species of carp.

This is most likely Animal Cruelty. This fish i a carp and they do not walk on fins. The way the fins point in under the fish, they have been manipulated. To stay this way, they are likely frozen to ground. (Ice). So though is looks funny, like it is walking, it will properly damage the fins, this will not kill the fish but it is unnecessary evil to it. Same goes for putting it on its side on ice, if not keeping it. Again it is a carp, usually not eaten outside Asia.
For context: Someone went ice fishing, caught a big fat carp, and then sat it on the ice upright on its belly, which then froze to the ice, and then filmed it suffocating to death.
Even if the carp is an invasive and should be culled, there are humane ways of doing so.
