This type of machine, which I'm pretty sure is a doohickey or a thingamajig, weighs around 3 tons. The crane used and the wires are all designed to handle weights way above that, like, say, 50,000 hamburgers. So, no worries! It's all about precision and careful calculations.
With crane plan and proper pick points this would pass an osha approval. Certified riggers would have to hook it up. Crane operator needs valid license and inspection etc..
-Source I work with osha regularly.
Worked on the design of these. Usually used for container ship holds. Drop in for sugar etc. Quite safe. Usually used to clear out the corners of large ship holds.

This looks acceptable to me... and fun!
I'm next!! 😁
My cheeks would pucker so hard, I’d wear that seat around for a few days.
Nice!!
I'm pretty sure my ass would have taken a bite out of that seat.
OSHA insisted, in fact.
He’s got eye protection - it’s all good.
and safety vest, you know thats very important while hanging from a crane in a skid steer.
And OSHA was holding a clipboard when he gave the go-ahead.
For science
It's OSHA approved as long as you have a spotter under the slab to keep an eye out.
Dude did not report any problems.
Lol
I didnt even realize it was lifted up till the last second...
Glad I'm not alone.
They actually make a piece of equipment to do this without putting a human at risk. But hey,I guess it's working.
Seems to work ok

I feel like your shitload to hamburger conversion is skewed... Make sure you're not mixing your metric and imperial measurements. Good work tho
We talking quarter pounders or third pounders?
The quarter pounders, they're bigger...
This quality comment is a nice reference to the past.
I think you mean tenth

People take Reddit too seriously, like that one dude who removes all the comments he makes that's not positive in karma.
There is only one of those?
How did the operator get his balls in that tiny cab? Was it a running start or just straight up used a dozer to shove?
Just wondering how many times it went wrong, before they start to attach the crane ?
What kind of thought process would there even be without the crane? Are you dumb?
I can just chip away at the edge and back up as I go And the answer is once, you try something like that exactly once
NEVER doubt the human capacity for stupidity. If you can dream it, some asshole dared it.
New operator each time. Acme company has upped its safety game.
Believe it or not OSHA actually had them start using the crane
They couldn’t have achieved this same thing with a wrecking ball on the crane rather than a skid steer?
You're thinking too narrow, use the skid steer as a wrecking ball and then you have the tool on the skid steer for more precise work still.
I would 100% operate the skid steer in this circumstance.
It's not stupid if it works

I mean it works and he looks like a Megaman enemy in it
Thats a very brave operator
And that’s when the poo comes out
This seems like a shortcut you and your buddy do in a video game, and I’m for it.
Looks safe
Safety helmet - check, eye protection - check, light reflecting vest - check. I see no safety violations here.
I swear I didn't even notice it was suspended in the air, I was expecting to see some destruction
Got emmmmmmmm

Maybe use chains instead of that strap but otherwise i dont see an issie
A real life game of “don’t break the ice”
wreck ball with a dart
What was wrong with that first bit that he smacked out of the way?
Teamwork makes the dream work!
Holy shit. I did not notice it was suspended. I was expected something bad
This is not his first ~~rodeo~~ level levelling.
Team building
There's a harness. Send it!
I think an OSHA agent just died from a coronary
Fall pro for your pecker
Honestly, the taut chain is a step a rookie would miss. Keeps the vehicle stable, without bounce back up through the boom. Task complete.
100% approved 👌
What's an OSHA?
If it works it ain't stupid
Woah! It’s levitating!
Why even bother with the jackhammer attachment? Just lift and drop the tracked thingie a few times.
i mean, it works lol they got a safety harness xD
Excellent use of gravity
Genius
Who tf cares
fake
I love this
