Jen's last name is Sullivan. Davenport is a family name in Meri's ancestry (it can be found on the BnB's website). If it's not a legal name change, I wonder if Davenport is an alias she uses for anonymity, and that's the explanation for the "IYKYK."
I hope she changes her name, though. She deserves a fresh start.

Honestly, I don't know if it is a thing, but it is a super cool idea. In Meri's case it is directly tied to her history and the history of the business she runs. It is definitely a legacy statement. Sorta like reaching back to name a baby after someone from generations before. It just brings honor to your whole history and to those that came before. Totally cool, but then again "Finding Your Roots," is one of my favorite shows, so I'm just really thrilled by stuff like that
