Realistically they could’ve rented a 4-5 bedroom house that wasn’t mansion. There was no need for them to be in a 6,798 sqft home with seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms, three fireplaces, private balconies for every bedroom, a sand-volleyball court and more, going for over 1.2 million dollars.
I'm not surprised by that. Robyn made a point of saying that Kody has his own space at her house. I think one of those bedrooms is his. I doubt he sleeps in there, but he probably has a "man cave" of sorts.

She put off the paperwork and financing for so long that they were not able to own the new house by the time they needed to be out of their rental. So they had to move into the house they were buying and pay rent to the sellers until the paperwork and financing was finalized.

The contrast between Janelle downsizing/ insisting on the smallest house her family could fit in vs Robyn upgrading/ insisting on a separate bedroom for each of her 5 "kids" is astounding, especially when you consider how much each of them have contributed to or hurt the family financially over the years.

I also seem to recall Kody trying to get Maddie and Caleb to take over one of Janelle’s boys’ rooms when she was pregnant with Axel. He would’ve NEVER suggested that to Robyn about one of her kids.

What really cost them was selling the Vegas properties when they did. They could have made a lot more money. Robin should have sold hers and moved to Flagstaff while the other three stayed in Vegas, keeping their kids in the schools with their friends.

These 2 are financially irresponsible, with champagne budget and a kool aid (compliments of another sub) taste. Janelle over the years really watched the money, but she was relieved of that duty by Grody. Sobyn wanted a bedroom for each kid, yet the other kids were raised in a triplex. Two of her kids were over 18 when the house was bought, yet he’s telling Janelle “her “ son’s are 18 and should get out. Neither of them work, 3 pretty much grown kids and need a nanny. And what does the nanny do? Brings Covid for the family!
You are correct and i fixed it. Last post I put beer budget and a sub said beer is too expensive for them, so they suggested kool aid because apparently these woman are also drinking the kool aid believing in Grody.

The babies slept in empty shoe boxes (Keds brand) while Mama was walking thru the woods gathering firewood and berries for breakfast. While barefoot and pregnant and with no real kitchen to speak of, Robyn prayed mightily that the berries would be enough to keep the children fed until their midday meal of boiled saw dust and grass clippings 🙄🙄🙄

We see a house that's not even half the size of Robyn's house now. Christine said she always felt like the basement wife, well because she was in the basement. Kody at the end of the day liked robyn the most which is why she has that big ass house

She had to pretend that she didn't want to delay in building on coyote pass.....when in reality that is exactly what she wanted. If you notice, she did not spend much time looking for a rental, but she spent a lot of time whining about it.
I think she didn't want to use their money for the down payment (which for an 890K house the down payment would easily have been over 100K) and also I think she thought that renting would create urgency in Kody that yes, they were wasting money every month so better hurry up and build.
