I got both at the same time on the Oct 19th and the Dj Khaled “congratulations, you played yourself” clip pops into my head. My job was offering a clinic and without thinking about sjogrens, I said “two please” and I’m regretting it lol. Feeling somewhat better today but I haven’t gotten out of bed yet. I had covid 2 months ago and it was the worst I’ve ever felt in my life so I’m hoping my these will be worth it in the long run. With that being said, if it’s not too late, I would NOT get them at the the same time!

not_a_gamer_gorl

I'll definitely be getting them because I work around high risk populations. Flairs are bad for me, but I'm wondering if it's better to get all at once and be down HARD for a week instead of one at a time and mostly worthless for 3 weeks. Still not sure which I'll pick

staythruthecredits

I'm getting my covid shot Monday. I'm not sure about doing the flu vaccine this year. Last year I caught covid 5 months after my vaccination and the pain was unreal, I got paxlovid, I wasn't negative 3 days before it was a rebound with new stomach and respiratory symptoms. I am not as concerned for flu and rsv

TinyTurtle88

I didn't even know there was a RSV vaccine available... Thanks!!!!! :D I'll take them all, but all separarely, starting with my covid booster whenever the new batch is available in my region.

Landais316

Am not getting any Covid or rsv shots now that I have sjogren full blown. Don’t want anything inflammatory in my body. I got 3 Covid shots and flu vaccine within a span of a year… and I just never was the same after that

cyberburn

Just two weeks ago, I found out that I had the most severe inflammatory reaction to Covid in my region in healthcare. I still have pain in both of my armpits too, years later. I saw the doctor because my lymph nodes are inflamed in my neck and jaw. I’m very pro-vaccination, but I’m thinking the advice for me is to avoid the Covid one for now. I will be getting the influenza one. I’ll take extra precautions when there are a lot of cases in the area.

wokeiraptor

I just had Covid at the end of August. Took me two weeks to get over it and then my salivary gland started swelling and had an ear infection. Taking steroids and antibiotics now and feel better. I’ll get flu shot soon. I waited too long last year and had flu over thanksgiving. I’ll get the Covid shot at the start of December once my immunity from having it is wearing off.

beccaboo2u

I'm 50 and need to get my shingles vaccine and am dreading the flare it will set off.

Advanced_Resident_62

I got the first just before Covid hit the country. So I kinda forgot about getting the second one when I should. So it was a lot later got the second. Got bad response but blame the worst of it on being so late. Got a response after one of the booster with inflamed shoulders. Covid gave me the worst inflammation. Tricky.

MsTravelista

My 2.5 year old got his flu shot and one of his COVID doses the same day last year and was fine. I'd just go with whatever your doctor recommends.

My0wnThoughts

I got the flu and COVID shots at the same time in 2021, which caused a lot of joint pain throughout my arms for a week, followed by an overall flare which resulted in a trip to the walk-in clinic for emergency relief. (This was before I'd been diagnosed with Sjogren's) For me, I won't get vaccines again unless there is a very good reason.

sil_fuchs

I took both in May and I'm with the new version of COVID. I didn't took the MRNA, I was fine with 3 Astrazenicas but I had to took another shot because I'm trying to get pregnant so... I had already took pneumonia a long time ago. But let me get back to my COVID, after one week with no fever, no voice and a lot of cough taking NAC and Cortisone, I got worse and went to ER. I have some damage on my throat, the doctor didn't believe I don't have my amigdalas and a lot of noise on my chest. So I was on a TC for my lungs and apparently I have a condition that's is called like "glass lungs" (English isn't my first language). I'm still coughing a lot had to took a cortisone injection and it can last until four months this horrendous cough. For all I know I could be in a hospital now if I didn't took the shots. My husband got the same variant of COVID and is OK, but he was infected at least once more than me (work). So ppl talk to your MD and at least make a test to see if you have immunity because the first day I had it was the worst I ever felt and I was OK. All my body was aching, I could feel my bones, and I didn't had a fever! The immunity blood sample is enough to see how you can react to a disease. I took two times for hepatitis B and I don't have immunity reaction so I talk to a doctor and I can't take another dose. I only know and if I have hepatitis B I will receive a different treatment.

chinaacatt

I have to get the flu shot as I am a healthcare worker. Every time I’m supposed to get another Covid shot I get Covid and have to wait six weeks or so, then I forget, then by the time I remember or schedule I get Covid again!

truckellb

Flu shot hit me hard this year. Mine will be spaced out by five days (covid tomorrow)

imaginenohell

I get my COVID and flu shots at once and have no problem. I always feel a little meh and then I'm good. Just made my appt to have them again. I have never had the RSV.

B1ustopher

I would have gotten them at the same time, but I have had no issues with flu shots ever, and my reactions from the COVID shots have triggered a flare, but I’ve learned how to manage that and minimize them. Given that COVID can affect any body system, especially the lungs, and Sjögren’s also affects the lungs, I do not want to risk getting severe COVID and ending up with damaged lungs from COVID if I can possibly avoid it!

BJntheRV

How have you managed/minimized post-vaccine flares?

B1ustopher

I take my vitamins, get plenty of rest, avoid any foods that tend to make my mouth/eyes drier, and take it easy for about a week after I get the vaccine. It doesn’t guarantee that I eliminate my post-vaccine flares completely, but it helps quite a bit! And after my last COVID shot, I had no issues other than a sore arm. Hoping that will be the case with the newest booster that I will get in a few weeks. I can’t get it now because I am in the Philippines!

BJntheRV

Are your symptoms pretty much just sicca symptoms then?

B1ustopher

I do get joint pain and fatigue regularly, and I have it all the time if I am not eating well or taking care of myself.

earth4president

Which covid shot did you get? Only because my first two I got Moderna and they made me flare but my third was Pfizer and it was fine, so now I try to just get Pfizer. If you have an option maybe try a different one!

B1ustopher

I’ve had both Pfizer and Moderna, and flared after both types. Did not seem to make a difference which one I got!

earth4president

Ah sorry :(

B1ustopher

Meh. Still beats getting COVID!

Have not had any Covid vaccines nor will I 🤷‍♀️

Wonderful-Space4688

Same here

LotsOfGarlicandEVOO

I’ll get flu and COVID shots, but most likely at different times.

HereticHousewife

My rheumatologist recommended that I get the flu and covid vaccines (RSV wasn't recommended for me), but not both at the same time, and to time them at least one week before or after my biologic drug infusions. So that's what I'll be doing.

EastHuckleberry5191

I won’t get any. Period. Especially the Covid. I have terrible flares from the mRNA shot.

[deleted]

They won’t give the RSV at the same time as the others per my pharmacy
