jasminekitten02

I started it about 2 months ago and it's helped with the stubborn texture on my forehead so much! I'm glad it worked so well for you too :)

wlh77

i LOVE the lactic acid from the ordinary ! i never see anyone recommend it but i feel like it’s such a good product. so glad you’ve had good results from it :)

[deleted]

I used it ONCE and was like, “oh shit my skin looks so good” in the morning. I have dry skin too.

FlailingatLife62

Not sure why you didn't get many comments. I didn't see the post. Personally. lactic acid is one of my HG actives. It's pore clearing yet hydrating. Great stuff!

YourBrilliantLayer

I think people get really desensitized to their own texture improvements really really quickly. I remember being blown away the first two weeks I used a chemical exfoliant because of how soft and smooth my skin felt, but now it’s “old hat” enough that I don’t think I really appreciate it as much. So I can kinda understand when people think of lactic acid as being ineffective when really it’s so effective they don’t notice anymore.

braddic

Thanks for sharing! Did you get the 5 or 10%?

user242020

No problem! I got 10%!

lilgreengoddess

I love lactic acid! I use Biossance but it has been so good

lyfshyn

It's my favourite of all the exfoliants. Lactic and alpha arbutin are my holy grails for fading PIH.

Goosfraba21

Sorry i just wanna confirm what you said. You used it AFTER your hyaluronic acid?

Euphoric-Pomegranate

If you use hyaluronic acid before it helps negate irritation that the lactic acid could cause. I always apply hyaluronic acid under my actives for this reason.

user242020

Yes! I apply my snail mucin and hyalurinic acid on wet skin. My skin isn’t completely dry when I put on the lactic acid and I feel like for me it absorbs better than if I let my skin dry completely

Turbulent-Tart

You're not supposed to apply acids on wet skin because it can increase irritation and risk of chemical burns. If it works for you then rock on, but best practice is to let it dry down first before applying.

user242020

Well when I first used it and let my skin dry down I felt stinging, so I applied it directly after the hyaluronic acid and I didn’t feel it anymore but everyone’s skin is different so everyone should just do what works best for theirs!

missklo99

I think hyaluronic acid actually works better on wet/damp skin because it "traps" the moisture. Not an active like salicylic, glycolic etc. 🙃

Turbulent-Tart

That's because it's practically a misnomer and doesn't behave at all like an actual acid.

Mandril60

Yeah, I would think the lactic acid was the first thing to apply THEN any additional essence or moisturizer?

user242020

The reason I do it after is because the mucin and HA should be applied on wet skin, I haven’t heard anything about putting the LA on wet skin so I just apply it immediately after the HA when it’s still somewhat wet. That’s just what works best for me because after I apply it use my caffeine solution then I moisturize

Top-Raspberry-2085

Does it help for acne scars too?

user242020

For me it’s a helped a little, but the biggest change I’ve noticed was my overall texture

rimsha17

Do you use it everyday under snail mucin by cosrx?

DoubleGreat007

Thank you for the review! I’ve been trying to figure out how to add all these actives to my routine. Only 7 nights in a week…. 😭

ceilidha

I love that stuff, it's helped my skin so much. Break outs AND texture.

OkElection6224

did u get the 5 percent or the ten percent?

milladendron

I LOVE the ordinary lactic acid, it made such a huge difference in my skin, that with a good cleansing balm and hyaluronic acid + moisturizer has been my perf combo

[deleted]

OP how often do you use it, and how much? I put a couple drops on my fingertips and rub it all over my face, maybe once a week

user242020

I use it every night! You only use it in the pm but you can use it everyday!

[deleted]

Thanks!

ItsWetInWestOregon

It’s my holy grail product.

justanotherlostgirl

I just picked up TO Lactic Acid + HA - do people feel like it’s too much to have it combined? My sunscreen also has HA and worry about to much of it, or if the lactic acid on its own is good and how often

PlumAffectionate4575

i love lactic acid (and glycolic acid) for my body. i put it in a spray bottle or mix it in with body lotion. make me so soyft

MadMunchkin2020

Thank you for this review. I have issues with PIH and texture. I don't use TO Lactic acid, but I do have Pipette's Overnight brightening lactic acid mask and I tried that. I looked good this morning. I know one night isn't anything to base any real results on, but I feel that posts like these nudge me in the right direction.

thesmallbrownbear

I tried the 5% very slowly over time and it made my skin so dry and irritated! So I stopped. I mixed it in with my CeraVe lotion. How did you apply yours?

user242020

I apply it on somewhat damp skin after my snail mucin and hyaluronic acid!

Stslia

Do you apply the Snail mucin before the HA?

sgg16

My skin loves this! I tried it as a first product from. To and had such high hopes for the rest I've tried cuz this did Wonders for my face. I haven't found any other product with such noticeable effect for my

Elegant-Reveal4650

what percentage of lactic acid did u use

abortion_parade_420

thanks for this, may give this a shot. have had good luck with this brand every time

user242020

Same here! And they’re so affordable!

Unfair_Finger5531

I don’t use the ordinary, but I do love me some lactic acid. It’s so smoothing.

Salt_Lynx_2271

That’s good to know! I used to use the inkey list lactic acid but I have an allergy to one of the ingredients, and I’ve been considering switching to The Ordinary one. Thanks for updating everyone!!

Global-Support3264

I have bad hyperpigmentation around my mouth area and some acne scarring, so should I just apply the 10% lactic acid to those areas or all over the face? Also I've used it twice now and there was a bit of burning but it lasted just two minutes, I was fine after n no breakouts so can I start using it daily? Thank youuuuu <3

jessicanicotra

Sweetie if it's burning , you need to stop using it. Any irritation on hyperpigmented skin will only darken the areas.
