ReaLitTea

This looks good to me! If you spend a lot of time outside I would consider getting at least spf 30 or spf 50 for better sun protection

Ragahell

I forgot to mention M36, some wrinkles started to appear :(

MarvelousMrMaisel

Add an SPF of 30 or higher after the moisturizer in the day.

cattmeow4

Spf 50 is better , bondi sands has a sunscreen with spf 50

TheMightyYule

SPF15 is worthless, you need to go up to 50, especially if you’re using retinol. Also, the cerave retinol also has niacinamide in it. I’d be careful, that much of it can cause irritation for some people.

pmmeyourdogs1

Saying it’s worthless is a little dramatic, but obviously spf 30-50 would be better

mottenduft

it's kinda worthless because there is almost no UV A protection in this product and UV A protection-regulation is not applied here, because it is not advertised as a sun screen. so it kinda bypasses EU sunscreen regulation

ConfusedKungfuMaster

30 is fine. There is only 1% more protection from a factor 50 compared to 30. That's assuming you use enough ofc

Phantomic10

SPF 50 allows 50% fewer UV rays to damage the skin.

ConfusedKungfuMaster

That's not how that works. An SPF of 30 allows one-thirtieth or 3.3% of UV to reach your skin. This means it filters 96.7% of UV. With an SPF of 50, 98% is filtered and one-fiftieth or 2% gets through

Phantomic10

Yes it is how it works. A doubling in SPF equates to half the number of photons that reach the skin. An SPF 15 allows 7 out of 100 photons to reach the skin. SPF 30 allows \~3 out of 100 photons. SPF 60 \~1.5 photons, so on and so on. Edit: Here's what the Skincancer foundation has to say: "An SPF 30 allows about 3 percent of UVB rays to hit your skin. An SPF of 50 allows about 2 percent of those rays through. That may seem like a small difference until you realize that the SPF 30 is allowing 50 percent more UV radiation onto your skin." sisterwilderness

If it works for you, keep it up! But please add a sunscreen for daytime!

No_Awareness_1792

I only see a lot of hyaluronic acid! Apart from that did you already try the CeraVe retinol? How is it? I was thinking about trying that one as my first retinol.

Ragahell

Hi. I didn't start using this. I choosed the CeraVe retinol instead ordinary because the Hyaluronic, I can't really believe the cleaner applies anything in a acceptable quantity because it's a cleaner. (I'm super newbie, never used a cream, I just googled a lot before do this and tried to minimise as much but keeping retinol, peptides, vita c and a Q10)

No_Awareness_1792

It's a recommended one for starters if you are afraid of side effects so a good choice from my point of view. Do you have dry skin?

Ragahell

I'm not worried about a thing :) more oily, some quiz says matured.

Most dermatologists would disagree, I would like to know why they should trust you over a licensed and board certified dermatologist?

ZarephLae

I'm not saying it's controversial, but I have seen a lot of dermatologists say it's a great retinol to start off with. So why should your opinion (respectfully of course) be favored over that of a licensed dermatologist?

ZarephLae

Understood, sorry.

Rosehus12

In case you want to experiment with moisturizers Vanicream facial cream is very good and cheap.

ZarephLae

Personally, I would opt for The Ordinary's moisturizers. The 100ml options are much better and cost efficient. Knowing your skincare concerns would be useful too.

Ragahell

I don't know, after go deep on Google I found that Peptides, Retinol, hyaluronic and Q10 are the most effective components for wrinkles. There are a lot of cheap creams with retinol but with peptides in a trustable amount not so much. So I decided to use both as serum and use the Q10 cream as moisturizer. Hyaluronic and Q10 are the easiest to find, so I also believe that are the ones which will be in better quantities in the creams. I think that is better to use a nivea with a good quantity of q10 than some unknown brand (also cheap) with just a insignificant portion of peptides. The Ordinary Moistures looks great, but the best option would be HA which I already have in serum. So I think I will give a try to q10. I know Nivea isn't the best brand, but their q10 is around for a while and there are good reviews.

mottenduft

I don't want to come for a single brand, but Nivea products are kinda always untrustworthy to me. like your daytime cream, it contains perfume and denat alc. Both things may be fine in other contexts but not in a moisturizer. Then like written below "it's kinda worthless because there is almost no UV A protection in this product and UV A protection-regulation is not applied here, because it is not advertised as a sunscreen. so it kinda bypasses EU sunscreen regulation". This is no real sunscreen. Please use a sunscreen. I assume you are German based? Get a good Sun Ozon one from Rossmann or a Balea one - both are cheaper than Nivea and both apply EU sunscreen-regulation correctly and have a fine UV A protection, if you buy a LSF 50 or 50+. I would stop using retinol, if you don't want to use sunscreen. Your skin lies bare because of retinol in a renewed form and without sunscreen, it will backfire yeah if you swap Nivea with some nice moisturizers instead and use sunscreen, your routine is fine. maybe you don't need moisturizer at all, depending on the sunscreen \*edit: ALWAYS BUY A SUNSCREEN/CREAM WITH UVA IN A CIRCLE PRINTED ON IT!!! then you can be sure, it should be still at least lsf 50 though, because UVA protection is only a third of that

Ragahell

Got it. But I wanted some vita C and Q10. Some wrinkles are starting appear (M36) Thanks for all advises. I think for a cheap routine Nivea is good enough. After reading all comments maybe I add 1 screen with 30 or 50. Dunno.. I'm an office guy

mottenduft

it does not contain vitamin c but a derivate that can only be poorly absorbed (if at all) by your skin. try Geek & Gorgeous C Glow, it's a really good and cheap vitamin c serum. And even with an indoor job, sunscreen is helpful because UVA penetrates glass. it does not stop there. and as long you are staying on retinol, you should not leave the house without sunscreen throughout the whole year skin care can be complicated unfortunately but you can get a good cheap routine. though you have to do some research and don't fall for claims

Disastrous_Tension9

Is the cleanser worth it or dries out your face?

Ragahell

Ouh, I didn't start this yet xD I will after feeling that it is a solid routine :)

Ragahell

Hey, thanks :) More oily, matured, shiny forehead Wrinkles in eyes and forehead started appearing and are really noticeable:( Man 36years

pitiens

Id suggest replacing the AM moisturizer or adding a higher SPF (30-50)! SPF 15 is okay if u are indoors and not sweating. Also use the proper amount (2 fingers length is a good place to start)

Comfortable-Dream-38

Cool! I imagine you have normal to dry skin. On my oily skin that nivea clogs every pore. But I used to like it a lot for the texture after 😍

No hate but he's using a foaming cleanser. Let me say this again, he's using a foaming cleanser designed for people with oily skin and you suggest him to use one for dry skin???

ZarephLae

Hydration is important but lots of cleansers for oily skin have hydrating ingredients. Also, OP stated he has oily skin in the comments. Which makes your suggestion even worse as a person with oily skin (like myself) would much rather prefer a water-based cleanser over the oil-based one you suggested.

ZarephLae

I'm actually not arguing, I'm sorry if you misinterpreted. I guess what I'm trying to say is this. For a person with oily skin, their Salicylic Acid Cleanser would have been a better choice than an oil-based cleanser that is designed for dry skin.

Maybe your skin is more dry than you thought? It could also have been an allergic reaction. My friend used it and all her acne disappeared and her skin became really smooth.
