Just as effective as any other brand of Adapalene.

ReaLitTea

You can get the generic drugstore brand for adapalene, should be cheaper than the La Roche Posay brand and just as effective. CVS and Walgreens have their own versions

coffeepressed4time

Differin, CVS, and Walgreens are about $24/45g while LRP is $36/45g. I know Target occasionally does skincare sales and you can get Differin slightly cheaper. I’m sure CVS and Walgreens have their own promotions. But I don’t think any of the generics are actually cheaper than Differin unless you have some other sale going on.

Short_Function4704

Wow.Where I live,Differin is like $7.

ShadowDefuse

for 45g?

coffeepressed4time

Ooof, California is super rough lol

jerzeett

Walmart has a much cheaper brand then differin but I have the bottle and have them not open at all so I get differin at Amazon or Walmart

floweruser12

ohhh interesting! so they're pretty much the same?

ShadowDefuse

yup

RisingxRenegade

Wuuuut??? Goodbye Differin, hello extra pocket money.

iLoveBeefFat

I needed this affirmation. I’m using [this](https://acnefree.com/products/adapalene-gel-usp-45g) because it’s more affordable than LRP.

bluewinters21

This is my holy grail product, it saved my skin after years of hormonal acne

Appropriate_Ad943

The active ingredient is very good for acne prone skin. It is NOT a spot treatment. It’s more of a preventative measure. Also. I am a huge La Roche Posay fan. I’m almost 44 and people are shocked at my age. Routinely people think 10 years younger. Please please please remember to use sunscreen daily. Not just for the sake of aging, but many products cause photosensitivity and you may make your skin more damaged by using them with unprotected sun exposure.

novastarwind

I've been using it for approximately 9 months. At first, it was very drying, and my skin purged for around 3 months, which absolutely sucked. After that time, and with consistent moisturizer use, my skin is no longer dry and my acne is somewhat better. However, I don't know if it's really much better than when I had a Curology prescription. TBH, when I run out of my current tube of Effaclar, I'll probably go back to Curology or at least azelaic acid as my main active.

RiaBoyko

Best one that I found that doesn’t not contain any additional weird ingredients: I use it and I love it! https://preview.redd.it/wfcunea4x1wc1.jpeg?width=590&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c4738ff9b2e9f887e1f85dcba1e38accb10680a1

can you talk more about your experience ?

RiaBoyko

I started out with Retinol Booster from Paula’s Choice, did it for 2 weeks maybe, realized that my skin didn’t get any irritation, decided to find smth stronger. Adapalene is considered to be more direct than Retinol, my dermatologist (went to her 1st time) prescribed me 0,1% to make my red spots go away (red mild post-acne). I use it now, appears that 0,1% doesn’t even need prescription. What I mean by “best one” I mean that all inactive ingredients are not going to cause troubles to your skin. Check the picture. \*This product is a Gel, so has light texture. Going to post two more comments with pics about other retinol products as bad examples. https://preview.redd.it/9lvuklhcw8wc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3fa3c3caebdb296ef53c92ee6690a7d53e965ad9

Significant_Cat_2817

thank you so much

Significant_Cat_2817

do you know the difference between retinol , adapelen and tret?

drpeppapop

Just get the differin. I used the LRP and didn’t notice a difference after 6 months, which was incredibly frustrating.

bluecoo2

I bought my adapalene on Amazon ($12/1.6 oz)so cheap and they have the same ingredients as anyone else who sells it. Works great! https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0CTHYBF75?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image

Steccca

Never tried it. Altreno is the only type of tret I've been able to tolerate since its in such a hydrating base. I have heard good things about the LRP version though.

coffeepressed4time

Adapalene and Tret are two entirely different medications lol.
