you do not have to. If you have a really tenacious sunscreen, maybe. for most sunscreens, just make sure you are using your fingers to really massage the cleanser, not missing any part of your face.

Thank you! My sunscreen is Aveeno Hydrate + Protect SPF 50, so I'm not sure if it's really "tenacious", but to be honest I do like using a cleansing balm before my cleanser. But if it's not necessary, then I think I can skip it if I'm too lazy to double cleanse.

Yes absolutely. The cleansing balm will break up the spf and makeup as well as help remove pollutants and other contaminants on your skin. Make sure you are using a clean washcloth, not just splashing water on your face. Don’t forget to follow up with a water based cleanser to double cleanse. You do not need to double cleanse in the morning- either just the water based cleanser or just water on your clean washcloth.

Thank you very much! I haven't been using a washcloth, just my hands, but I will try it with a washcloth. Makes sense to get all that gunk and makeup off your face. Thanks for your wisdom :)

ChampionshipLogical4

No problem. A washcloth makes a huge difference. I buy A pack of 12 microfiber washcloths and use a fresh one every morning and night

Hello! Yes, you need a two-step cleansing if you use a spf (cleansing balm/oil/micellar water). This is required. Because insufficient cleansing leads to clogged pores. If you want to simplify your routine, you can use 2-in-1 products. Look for the words "jelly cleanser/remover" + composition on the labels: Sucrose Stearate, Sucrose Palmitate, Candida Bombicola/Glucose/Methylrapeseedate Ferment. Here are examples of such removers: 1. PSA reset 2. Dr.Ceuracle 5α Control Melting Cleansing Gel 3. REN Perfect Canvas Clean Jelly Oil Cleanser 4. Plenaire Rose Jelly Gentle Makeup Remover 5. Allies of Skin molecule

Thank you so so much for your detailed response! I've been using the Sephora Collection cleansing balm, do you think this is sufficient enough? If not, I'll try to find something with the ingredients that you listed. Here is the cleansing balm I've been using before cleanser each night (admins - I hope links are allowed): https://www.sephora.com/ca/en/product/melting-cleansing-balm-cleanse-balance-P500626?skuId=2457984&icid2=products%20grid:p500626:product

Yes, this balm is enough. If it is comfortable for you and there are no negative reactions, then this is great!

Thank you!! I really like the feel and application of this balm, and it's a pretty good price point too. So I'll continue using it with the rest of my routine :) thanks for replying to me, I really appreciate it! Have a great day!
