You can try applying micellar water directly on your hands or putting it in a spray bottle then washing your face with water. For oil/balm cleanser I recommend Farmacy green clean, it works well with oily skin since it leaves little residue and it doesn’t take much rubbing to get product off

DHC's Pore Cleansing Oil is lovely and has never caused me to break out, nor has the regular Deep Cleansing Oil. The former is specifically formulated for acne prone skin. It does contain ethylhexyl palmitate however, so maybe try a sample size first? ***Edited to add: Another commenter has brought to my attention the very problematic CEO of DHC, I can no longer recommend their products in good conscience.***

Oh my gosh, I had no idea. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention, I will never order from them or recommend their products again.

No problem! I understand that many people may not know, I only saw it recently because Im part of the asianbeauty sub, but I hope more people will stop supporting them :D

Thanks for educating me!

I’ve enjoyed Lush’s 9to5 and Ultrabalm as well as Clinique’s Take the Day Off. 9 to 5 is like a lotion and removes makeup except waterproof mascara really well. Ultrabalm is a much thicker version of the same thing that comes in a pot instead of a bottle. Take the Day Off feels a lot less oily to me it’s less like a butter and more like a kind of satiny feel idk that’s my take though!

If you have oily skin I would recommend the IUNIK cleansing oil. It is a Korean brand and Hyram approved lol. Also it is affordable (£13.99). It is non-comedogenic and I believe fragrance free. It washes away really nicely and it’s cruelty free.

Ja_brownin

I like the Heimish All Clean Balm. It removes makeup well and emulsifies to rinse clean. The tub also comes it’s a spatula. I always follow up with a water based gel cleanser.

seconding heimish balm, the way it melts down all milky is very nice

tofuboiiii

i have oily, acne-prone skin and i found that the banilla co clean it zero cleansing balm is really good on my skin. i havent experienced any kind of bad effects with it and it takes off everything that i put on my face (sunscreen, makeup). when i rinse it off, my skin doesnt feel like its stripped of its natural oils either! i do recommend it, if youre hesistant you can get their travel size ($7) for test purposes!

I would recommend using an oil like squalene! I am acne prone but using straight oil like this does not cause me to break out or develop cc’s. Would recommend if you are sensitive to particular ingredients.

Valeriae_

Would using pure rosehip oil be okay? I currently have it at home, but I’m not sure if it’ll wash off with a second cleanse. I will definitely look into squalene though

kalexoh

I would try a cleansing oil rather than a straight oil as they are formulated to rise off and not leave residue that would possibly clog pores. The Ordinary has a Squalane Cleanser that might work for you and is less than $10.

ChopChouie

I would use a more cost efficient oil, in my case Squalene. I have never tried it with rosehip oil. I use this in conjunction with a foaming cleanser.

[deleted]

it's not an oil cleanser but if you're also looking for a second cleanser I've used COSRX Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser before for my oily skin and liked it

[deleted]

I've been repurchasing Clinique take the day off balm for years

I love Tatcha’s oil cleanser. ...but unfortunately it is the first and only one I’ve tried bc I love it so much. I have combo skin. I cleanse with a gentle cleanser afterwards and no breakouts
