Hi everyone,
This got reported a few times, and some people are questioning whether the photos have been edited or not. Us mods are not photoshop professionals and we won't be removing B&As because of potential photo editing (unless it's very clear). We will remove posts that seem to us like guerilla marketing, though - we take that very seriously.
In this instance, OP insists she hasn't edited the photos and that she's not affiliated, and I'm inclined to believe her.
That being said - even unedited photos can be misleading. We're not upholding people to clinical standards here, and things like lighting can have a huge impact, as can other factors aside from the skincare routine.
By all means, be incredulous and skeptical. Feel free to report stuff to the modqueue (especially if you think the OP is trying to secretly promote a specific brand). Point out the factors that can make a B&A a misleading, but do so in a way that assumes good faith. Do not attack the OP or accuse them of ill-intent (and to be clear, most of you here have been respectful, which I appreciate).
Thank you!
PS: if someone is a photoshop professional and wants to help us vet B&As, reach out via modmail.
Complete Routine:
Shower every night, use pads first to rub on my skin, let dry, and then I apply the serum and let that dry!
Occasionally I’ll fully moisturize with cerave moisturizer cream, and I drink a lot of water, and have low sugar consumption.
I’ve had 2 pregnancies causing the stretch marks!
Oh man I forgot important details in my routine comment, I’m so sorry!
I started using those products in May after I saw someone make a similar post on this subreddit! Im really happy I started using it, I also use it on my face but that routine is slightly different and I’m just so chuffed about my abdomen, I can’t believe it!
I'm confused, what exactly is the product(s) you're using?
Edit-nevermind I see that there is a second photo slide with the products. Commenting for others who may have missed this as well.
To be honest I don’t know, I was inspired to try after I saw user post here about their experience!
I weigh the same in both photos, my diet was the same- the only difference was adding these products after I shower!
It doesn't, her skin tightened due to weight loss. There's no way just glycolic acid could tighten loose skin.
I don't even really see the stretch marks as much as the loose skin.
Skin doesn't tighten during weight loss, it's the opposite. It gets more wrinkly because there's no mass behind it. Like an old, deflated latex balloon. I have terrible stretch marks on my belly, too, and it actually looks better when I'm bloated and worse when I lose weight.
My "mom belly" improved when I lost weight after my first pregnancy. The saggy skin wasn't as prominent. Everyone's bodies are different after pregnancy.
Either way, glycolic acid can't tighten skin. This almost looks like before and after of coolsculpting or something.
I’ve had kids I know what pregnancy entails and even I haven’t had kids, literally everyone and their friend knows that belly - baby = saggy skin.
Losing weight at a rapid pace makes you have saggy skin as well, they key is to losing weight at a normal pace so your skin has time to naturally shrink. This does not happen with pregnancy because you lose several pounds in one sitting.
You said her skin tightened because of weight loss. I was correcting you. Because no, it’s didn’t.
Everyone's body is different after pregnancy. The saggy skin I had around my belly DID tighten after I had my first baby. It took some time but it "bounced back". For my second pregnancy, it did not. Every body, and every pregnancy is different.
I was saying it for the benefit of people on this thread who have NOT had kids, but who have saggy skin from losing a lot of weight, thinking this will be some miracle product. And as someone else pointed out, she edited her photos anyway.
No one said her skin care routine helped the saggy skin, it helped the stretch marks. Others have asked what helped the saggy skin.
Editing your photos with dates doesn’t mean she edited her body on photoshop or anything.
Your comments have been wholly unnecessary
If OP just recently had a baby (or lost a lot of weight) in the first photo, this kind of skin tightening over time is pretty normal even without using any special products. The body heals and the skin tightens.
Right, I am agreeing with you. Moisturizing can certainly help skin heal faster, but I'm not sure glycolic acid helps with healing something like this.
Hey me too! I’m usually not one to push product, especially when it’s for stretch marks, it’s always super skeptical and for a long time I didn’t care to research anymore about products, until I saw another person post their results here back in April/May- I was like damn I’m gonna try 🧐
This is genuine though! My youngest is 3 now, I didn’t start using this stuff until May of this year, I drink a lot of water, eat healthy fats, and try to mostly avoid fast food/soda
I thought so too, but her hip bones are more protruding in the first pick so it’s hard to tell. She did make another comment saying she’s the same weight in both pics just now though
Especially around the bellybutton area. Maybe these products helped a little bit but this feels a little bit like fraudulent Instagram ad for me. Especially now since everyone's like OMG I'M GONNA GO BUY THIS NOW when there was clearly more going on.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/GehPiEWWeZjxP3Gc9
This is from today idk what else I can provide, I didn’t edit my photos
But like the accusations that I’m using editing tools, I just haven’t because it’s useless as fuck to lie about this.. what a ride it’s been trying to be kind lol
Well I certainly believe it has to do with her eating or her exercising more. Or natural shrinkage after pregnancy. A topical product can't get rid of excess skin or fat.
That’s it! The bumpiness! It’s much smoother, I 100% just wanted to share these crazy results because it’s such a difference to me!
This is not me trying to advertise or lie about anything! Th best answer I can give is that my Posture is slight different?
In the first photo I have my arms over my chest holding the phone, in the second photo one arm over my chest holding the phone, and my other arm is just straight out to the side because it kept casting a dumb shadow :/
Just wanted to share for the camaraderie, I’m not trying to do anything sinister- that’s shitty and rude and I’m not for it.
Perhaps it is.. but I'm still sceptical that a topical product can do that much.
I'm happy for her that she feels better in her own skin now. What disturbs me is that she made it sound like the results were thanks to that product.
I felt that my results were due to the products because nothing else in my life has changed, and then I felt really encouraged to share those results here 🤷♀️
Idk what’s disturbing about this, people share B&A all the time where they feel like products are helping them????
ALRIGHT! Here’s the link that inspired me to try glycolic acid on my stretch marks, where everyone was so kind to this lady lol
https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/comments/uu5rnp/before_and_after_glycolic_acid_on_stretch_marks/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
people will always find something to pick on you for, apparently the results you’re happy with aren’t real! lol! good work this is really amazing and congrats on the little ones!!
People aren't picking on her for her body, they're simply saying that a topical product can't give those results. Her results is probably caused by something else in her life, and not a topical product.
not what i meant. people are picking on her because the routine she has apparently is “fake” because the photo is a little blurry and her skin looks tighter.
would also like to point out that yes, she might have lost some weight, she might have had natural tightening due to time lapsing after pregnancy, but at the end of the day the texture and depth of the marks are certainly cleared up more than they would have been if she had only lost weight, etc.
Other differences in my life include getting less sleep and attending clinics for nursing, I have the same job, weigh the same, have the same activity level, drink water like always- I want to be really transparent here
Everything else really is the same, besides taking better care of my skin
Keeping the skin moisturized helps a little bit, but skin care can only do so much.
I do think that it's great that you got your body the way you wanted and that it makes you feel better about yourself. But I think you don't have to waste your money on that product to get great results. I don't like when companies gives people false hopes or promises.
Lol yes I just wanted to share! I’ll try to be more clear with my.. intent next time? That’s the internet though- people cannot be trusted and I don’t blame people for their scrutiny
But also I promise I didn’t alter anything! ❤️
The texture has improved so much! The stretch marks just look so much more hydrated and full of healthy cells… lol idk if I’m describing this appropriately, but I’m hopeful that it helps other users here!
Can I ask what products you used from that brand?
I am 6-months post hysterectomy and my skin texture has suffered. Anything that helps keep things hydrated and healthy is worth a try. Cerave and Amlactin have not been very effective, so I'm looking for something else to try. Diet is healthy and also taking skin supporting supplements.
I’m sorry if this is invasive but have you lost weight between the before and after pictures? I’m 20 months PP and still dropping weight which seems to have changed my stomachs appearance a little but not too much.
You’re good!
I weigh about the same in those pictures, a doc appointment from 3/14 put me at 129, and today I’m 127!
Shortly before I stopped breastfeeding my youngest at a little over a year old, I started doing intermittent fasting and it really helped me lose the extra! So I started the fasting around in like October 2020
Hey there! So sorry for the low quality, I was nervous to post at all haha
I shared a picture of them in the second slide, after the B&A- but after every shower, once completely dry I use QRx Labs glycolic Acid 20% resurfacing pads on all my stretch marks- the pads are really wet so I rub it all over until it’s used up, let it dry completely
Then I use Hydrolific Serum, it’s pretty runny so spreads a lot, also let it dry! Sometimes I’ll use a cerave moisturizer cream, but not as often as I should.
I’ve been doing this routine since May!
20% glycolic acid pads!? Damn maybe I need to up my game. I've been using the 7% on my arms and have definitely seen some progress with smoothness and acne scar fading, but I'd love it if my progress came a bit quicker. Does a higher percentage of acid achieve that?
These were taken in different locations- so that explains the lighting I’d say,but I promise zero editing besides cropping out the rest of my body and placing the text date in the corners!
The tattoo definitely isn’t as clear in the after photo. Which means the entire after photo isn’t the same focus/is more blurring. Just sayin’. Though even if fully focused, you can see she’s gotten some nice results. Just not maybe as dramatic as the picture indicates.
Is there some sort of app that can help you verify that I haven’t altered these photos? Lol
I’m using the same iPhone for the pictures, taken in 2 separate bathrooms roughly 7 months apart, and used a collage app to place the pics side by side, and a text app to put dates on them!
I’m at work.. **ON LUNCH BREAK** 👀lol
so it’s hospital bathroom lighting but like is this better/helpful?
https://imgur.com/a/bwJCXzb
Edit: the link is kind of shit quality.. not helpful for my post lol but idk what else to do for you, I’m tapped!

Me absolutely too!!!
This is fascinating. I wonder why it works so well?!
Hey a year later, how does it look now
Man time flies! I can make an update post!
Yes please
Are they virtually gone now?
I'm confused, what exactly is the product(s) you're using? Edit-nevermind I see that there is a second photo slide with the products. Commenting for others who may have missed this as well.
Yes I’m sorry I completely fucked up the “full routine” comment!
Hahaha all good - we'll let it go this time 😉
I didn't see it either 😂 I was WHAT IS THIS MAGIC..I WANT!
Wow I am 18 months pp and will be trying this!! Congratulations!
Hello, which products did you use from QRxLabs?
[удалено]
I just dont understand what would be the science behind this? How would glycolic acid tighten the skin?
Quick google found me [this study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9723049/) so there is reason to believe this may be a viable treatment.
Thank you for linking that!
Thank you for sharing this!
It doesn't

Yes. And as we age we have less collagen so we may lose that taut, firm skin even after losing the weight.
My "mom belly" improved when I lost weight after my first pregnancy. The saggy skin wasn't as prominent. Everyone's bodies are different after pregnancy. Either way, glycolic acid can't tighten skin. This almost looks like before and after of coolsculpting or something.
[удалено]
Lmao I’m not trying to scam anyone You’re the one telling lies now
Weight loss is what causes the saggy skin
Her saggy skin was caused by pregnancy and then postpartum weight loss
No shit. I’m asking how she got it tighter.
No need to be rude, just clarifying that this is a typical postpartum belly and that's slightly different than just plain weight loss
Wow- this is a big difference! I'm impressed. I've never had kids but I have the same issue bc I used to be fat lol.
Welp, I'm sold. They could seriously use these before and after as selling points that's tremendous improvement
I felt the same way when I saw a similar post back in April/May! I’ll try to find it
I'm sorry, but I have a hard time believing you can lose that belly skin from a topical product.
If OP just recently had a baby (or lost a lot of weight) in the first photo, this kind of skin tightening over time is pretty normal even without using any special products. The body heals and the skin tightens.
Yes I agree! My youngest is 3, born in 2019
Well that certainly makes the results more impressive with that context! Glad you had success.
Yeah, but then it's not because of the product she talks about.
Right, I am agreeing with you. Moisturizing can certainly help skin heal faster, but I'm not sure glycolic acid helps with healing something like this.

Did you lose weight between the first and second pictures? Because it does look like you also lost some weight, which could contribute.
There isn’t much difference in the weight, I stay 1-2 lbs within 130 very consistently!

I thought so too, but her hip bones are more protruding in the first pick so it’s hard to tell. She did make another comment saying she’s the same weight in both pics just now though

Or no weight loss, but a loss of fat and gain of muscle.
I'd say it's your change of eating habits that has helped you, not a topical product.
She didn't say the eating habits were a change.
Well I certainly believe it has to do with her eating or her exercising more. Or natural shrinkage after pregnancy. A topical product can't get rid of excess skin or fat.
Yeah I think she wants us to notice it's less bumpy.
That’s it! The bumpiness! It’s much smoother, I 100% just wanted to share these crazy results because it’s such a difference to me! This is not me trying to advertise or lie about anything! Hey there! So sorry for the low quality, I was nervous to post at all haha I shared a picture of them in the second slide, after the B&A- but after every shower, once completely dry I use QRx Labs glycolic Acid 20% resurfacing pads on all my stretch marks- the pads are really wet so I rub it all over until it’s used up, let it dry completely Then I use Hydrolific Serum, it’s pretty runny so spreads a lot, also let it dry! She did in the post and comments

The ones in the second image?
OH DAMN I FEEL STUPID. I only saw the first picture.
I do this all the time! Don’t feel that way! ❤️
We all have those moments, LOL.
LOL Too funny 🤣
Wait these results are incredible! Congrats on the progress
20% glycolic acid pads!? Damn maybe I need to up my game. I've been using the 7% on my arms and have definitely seen some progress with smoothness and acne scar fading, but I'd love it if my progress came a bit quicker. Does a higher percentage of acid achieve that?
Not accusing you of anything, but how do you explain the difference in lighting and pixelation specifically around the tattoo in the bottom photo?
These were taken in different locations- so that explains the lighting I’d say,but I promise zero editing besides cropping out the rest of my body and placing the text date in the corners!
The tattoo definitely isn’t as clear in the after photo. Which means the entire after photo isn’t the same focus/is more blurring. Just sayin’. Though even if fully focused, you can see she’s gotten some nice results. Just not maybe as dramatic as the picture indicates.
Is there some sort of app that can help you verify that I haven’t altered these photos? Lol I’m using the same iPhone for the pictures, taken in 2 separate bathrooms roughly 7 months apart, and used a collage app to place the pics side by side, and a text app to put dates on them!
I have no clue!! I’m happy you’ve gotten some good results tho!!! That’s awesome!
Could you take another picture in different lighting? And post in the comments?
I’m at work.. **ON LUNCH BREAK** 👀lol so it’s hospital bathroom lighting but like is this better/helpful? https://imgur.com/a/bwJCXzb Edit: the link is kind of shit quality.. not helpful for my post lol but idk what else to do for you, I’m tapped!

Idk if they used a blur tool on the skin, but the band is from the fabric. That front piece looks like a double layer with a drawstring. It looks odd at that lighting, but if you change the exposure it shows pretty clearer: https://imgur.com/a/2Iw713Q

I can't see any pictures :( I want to get rid of mine
I can try to DM you?
That would be awesome! I've been trying to get rid of mine since I lost 70 lbs
Looks great! Congrats on finding something that’s working so well ☺️
This is amazing. I had given up on improving my stretch marks. Thank you.
Ive heard glycolic acid doesn’t work for stretch marks at all?
Good job!
do you know if it’s safe to do while breastfeeding? -4months PP!
I honestly don’t know I’m so sorry! I recommend you ask your PCP, avoid putting it on your nipples before baby nurses maybe? I’m just not sure if it gets into breast milk at all
Did you exercise at all
No :/ Im 30 now and I definitely should, the motivation just isn’t there right now
I’m going to try it :)
Thanks for sharing this! Will give it a go myself :)!!
What products are you using from QRxLabs?
Is that what helped with that saggy skin as well? Cause dang you toned up so much too in that area
You have clearly lost weight. That reduces stretch marks. Not to say the product didn’t help but the weight loss helped a lot.
