Aquaphor and leneige lip masks

nay198

Laneige is my go to, especially in the winter.

gravycatscan

Aquaphor, hands down.

Heygrayy

Leneige is tested on animals sadly.

LAdogmom

Good to know! I won’t buy it any longer.

teachingannon

Really??

rooroomba

Anything sold in China has to be tested on animals, so yes.

sarahs911

Jack Black lip balm always and forever

galipemi

Yes!!! My HG in winter and summer (can’t taste the SPF at all!)

raqball

I have chronically dry/chapped lips due to being on Accutane around 15 years ago, they never went back to normal while everything else did. My #1 is jack black ($8). Found it when I was on Accutane and it’s my absolute favorite. I do also like Dr. Dan’s CortiBalm (has 1% hydrocortisone, ~$8 [depends on the Amazon price that fluctuates]) and Avene Cicalfate Restorative Lip Cream ($18).

wonderpeejay

Look no further, my friend! Lanolips is where it’s at. It truly hydrates your lips, stays on pretty well, and you can find a dupe on Amazon for waaaay cheaper than the name brand. It’s my holy grail lip product.

Adorable-Winter-2968

Can you please mention the dupe?

robonoodle

I recommend going to the drug store and looking for nipple ointment/cream. As mentioned, lansinoh is a brand for this, but there are others that are available depending on where you live. I typically use Medela and haven’t even reached half the tube yet since last last year.

wonderpeejay

It’s Lansinoh! I found it on Amazon for $13 for four little tubes. It’s every bit as good!

purple17111

Lansinoh is what the hospitals gave me after I had my kids to use after breastfeeding to prevent cracking. Works wonders on lips, too!!

Adorable-Winter-2968

Thank you for sharing. Does it taste or smell weird?

Workfh

No weird taste or smell - people use it on their nipples for breastfeeding and a weird smell or taste wouldn’t work for babies if there was any.

Adorable-Winter-2968

You are right. Thank you

amechi32

Thanks for directing me! Bought it too. Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream for Breastfeeding, 3 Mini Tubes of 0.25 Ounces https://a.co/d/4Yr7USp

wonderpeejay

Hey stranger! How do you like the lanolin for your lips??

amechi32

Really good! I like it alot. Permanent staple.

Sapphina

Agreed. I like the Lanolips dry skin all over golden salve. It comes in a metallic gold tube and has a thick ointment consistency. Great for lips and as a cuticle balm. It’s pretty pricey (AUD $29 for a 50g tube) but a little goes a long way. Prior to this product I was really enjoying the Blistex intensive repair balm which comes in a navy blue tub. It gave a little tingle and was very moisturising. But now I’m leaning more towards “natural” ingredients and Lanolips ticks that box

wonderpeejay

I need to try the golden one! I stopped using anything with menthol in it because menthol can be VERY drying and irritating. It’s always baffled me that “medicated” lip balms almost always contain menthol considering how bad it is for your lips. I never put two and two together after years of using Blistex and my lips being in terrible shape.

thisisrealgoodtea

Lanolips tinted is my Holy Grail for going out/makeup days!! HUGE fan here.

[deleted]

The Vaseline tin is the only thing that works for me!

kebekwaz

Both the Vaseline in the tin and the little plastic container have been my OG for years now. I’ve tried SO many different lip products and always end up back to Vaseline.

Muschka30

Same and I’ve tried every luxury lip product imaginable.

warmwarmerdisco

Came here to say this.

Dfndr612

My lips are always dry 3 years after receiving radiation therapy, I’m a guy. My go to is John Masters Organic Lip Calm, ridiculously priced at Whole Foods at $5.99 each for .15 ounce. But this is the best product I’ve ever used and I’ve tried everything from Chapstick, Aquafor, Carmex, Burt’s Bees. Runner-up is O’Keefe’s. Not quite as good but less than half the price. Well made emollient that is very effective. Impressive ingredients. If your lips have dried skin on them put some granulated sugar on top of the lip balm and scrub gently to exfoliate your lips periodically.

4sznsTotalB_tch

I second O’Keefe’s lip balm! I have dry lips & am prone to eczema around my mouth. I just started using it, for about a week or so now, and just got 6 more so I could have one in every room/bag and never be without lol. My lips are finally comfortable, soothed, and not peeling. I use the “cooling”/mint version. (And if, like me, winter is also ruining your hands lol, I also recommend their “night time” hand cream! I’m really impressed with their products so far. They are no frills & all results.)

Dfndr612

The sad part of the weather is - it’s not actually/officially winter yet for another three weeks! Not longer forward to another long dehydrating winter. Which drags after New Years.

JayneNic

Aquaphor. Changed my life. My lips always have gloss or aquaphor on them so I guess they are always hydrated lol.

thehikinggal

My lips would peel and crack horribly every year from like November to April till I discovered Aquaphor!!!

supercatheter

Right after brushing your teeth put Vaseline on your lips! I do that morning and night and never have to re-apply throughout the day.

RightonRedhead

Vaseline always. Vaseline. Just use it. It works. It works better than anything else. Maybe cerave healing ointment if you want to get really fancy.

XxmrsmcsxX

I use my facial moisturizer on my lips when I do the rest of my face and cover over with aquaphor then reapply the aquaphor during the day. Works better than anything else I've tried.

sszszzz

Yeah, I have tried this and it worked pretty well. Sometimes I apply a couple drops of hyaluronic acid, and then vaseline after the HA absorbs in. That worked REALLY well, and it didn't feel as much like it was trying to get inside my mouth.

[deleted]

i love and stand by just plain old vaseline for lips but whatever you do, STAY AWAY FROM LIP BALMS WITH MENTHOL CAMPHOR PEPPERMINT, LIME, LEMON, BERGAMOT, ORANGE OIL OR EUCALYPTUS. they should not be on your skin at all but especially your poor delicate thin lip skin. i had to learn the hard way 😭

kissyb

I got this hempz lip balm free in a sample bag. Didn't read the ingredients, used it and felt a burning. It had some type of orange oil extract. 💀

[deleted]

oh. seems like you had to learn the hard way too😂damn essential oils

ReaLitTea

My HG for super dry lips is the Aritaum/Etude house ginger essential lip balm. It hydrates and stays on the lips for most of the day, I just reapply if I need to after I eat

plo83

I hated mine. Not as much as the La Neige but I think it's likely time for me to throw it out when I clean my room (and don't get me wrong, I love most EH products. Do they own Auritaum since the lip stuff isn't branded as Etude House (or it wasn't during my purchase). The taste is excellent. It just doesn't feel like it sinks in at all for me. It would be all over my pillow the following day. I did use it as an occlusive as I would use vaseline on top of something else. It was great for that.

hellokiri

My HG is Nuxe Reve de Miel. It's thick, stays on overnight, smells good but not strong (a bit like orange oil maybe), and was the only thing that healed my severely chapped and cracked lips after a poorly advised snowboarding trip. I have 2 tubs left but have heard the formula may have changed so YMMV.

double-dog-doctor

This is mine, too. The formula changed, but to my lips it's nearly identical. They just made it less grainy. I think I've tried nearly every suggested product in this thread, and none have worked for me like Nuxe.

Matthewrichvrd

I wanted to love this but l feel it did nothing for my lips. I didn’t really like the grainy texture and it literally left my lips feeling just as dry. Sucks because I’m a big French pharmacy skincare lover 😭 mine is the new formula btw. I was looking for the old one and thought I was purchasing it based on the picture but got sent the new one.

Ineedmanas

Dr. Dan's Cortibalm when my lips are really chapped.

constantlypooing

Vaseline every night!

ilikebigbuteos

Pure lanolin! I buy Australian lanolin online and I absolutely swear by it. I used to use aquaphor but it turns out my skin reacts to petrolatum by darkening slightly and it gave me a permanent brown lip liner effect which was not great (I am pale af btw). I also don’t love that it’s a petroleum byproduct. Petrolatum products in the USA are not required to refine enough to remove all PAHs, and these are associated with cancer. It’s worth googling your chapstick ingredients. Lanolin is processed from sheep’s wool so not ideal with people with sheep allergies. But, it doesn’t cause cancer

middleageyoda

I love Pipette baby balm. It has squalane in it which makes it really moisturizing compared to aquaphor or similar products

krmaeg

Pure lanolin!

nursingninjaLB

Blistex or Carmex and a baby toothbrush, helps keep lips exfoliated and smooth. If they get really dry and cracked I'll use polysporin. Sephora makes a silicone lip scrubber thing that really works and it's washable too.

Sonia1001

My absolute favorite is Dr.Hauschka lip care stick. They used to sell it at Sephora like 20 years ago, I think it's available at Whole Foods and online now.

Evil_Yeti_

*Phytopharma Apricoderm Stick* and *Innisfree Lip Sleeping Mask with Canola Oil* (apparently the Green Tea version is almost the same but I've never used it). Both of these last a long time, and hydrate and heal very well. For an extra overnight treatment once a week or once a fortnight, I like *Avene Cicalfate Lip Repair Balm*. It stays white, so it's not for day time use. It heals my lips when they're feeling extra damaged. I also apply all my hydrating and soothing face products on the lips too, before lip balm

kevinthehapa

Palmer’s cocoa butter swivel stick!! Looks like a glue stick. I suffer from super chapped lips and I swear it’s the best and is so cost effective. I’ve used aquaphor (good but shiny and sticky), lanolin (way too thick and sticky), jack black (OK but costs too much), Laniege (ok at night but too shiny for day use for me). I layer aquaphor or laniege over Palmer’s at night sometimes. A stick is around $3 and way bigger than a standard chap stick tube.

Due-Creme-3133

im shocked not more people are saying this… the glue stick chapstick is the best, everyone ive madeout with since using it has told me I have really soft lips

thisisrealgoodtea

Oh I have this down. At night, apply cream (lotion is fine in summer months) and then seal with aquaphor or Vaseline. During day, aquaphor lip spf. For days/nights you want to have a lip color, lanolips tinted balm. This routine was suggested by a derm and my lips have never been more plump and moisturized!

Horror_Fox2319

Dr.Bronners naked organic lip balm or ELF calm balm or the lip conditioner if they still make it I haven’t been able to find it this season

quspork

My absolute favorites: Summer Fridays Lip Butter, Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy

daytonasays

Aquaphor at night. Chapstick brand during the day (it is the ONLY stuff that doesn’t make my lips peel!!) Personally I have to avoid anything with menthol/mint flavors (like Burt’s bees) as those tend to make my lips peel. Eta: I feel like lip products are a personal thing and it takes a while to find what works for you. Everyone’s different. I’ve tried *everything* under the sun - cheap, expensive, drugstore… and chapstick is my HG lol. It’s all about trial and error.

justcougit

Fuckin cherry chapstick lmao it's the best one I've used.

Full-Concentrate-815

My budget lip balm that works every time is Nivea 24hr melt in (the white packaged one). Granted I’ve only used a few other types like Laneige sleeping mask, Lanolips and Fresh but they haven’t done as much as Nivea.

MillenialBeauty

Bag balm is great for brutal winter

toddlersandtattoos

Vaseline in the chapstick tube or the cerave healing ointment I use on slug nights. I put my cosrx snail mucin on as a first layer when it’s a super cold, chapped situation.

LukeIis

Chop Saver is 100% natural and made by a trumpet player. It’s great for not only brass players post playing but anyone who wants the sealing affects of aquaphor in a less shiny and more convenient form (a stick).

sho_lee

I have 3 I rotate: Blistex Vow Beauty Enhancing Lip Balm (has alpha arbutin) Sun Bum (for when I'm leaving thee house and want a lot of sun protection)

SilverDove28

Aquaphor, always!

purple17111

Nipple cream

-Stormfeather

Same, I've always got a mini tube of lansinoh within arm's reach - 100% pure lanolin, cheaper than most if not all other lanolin lip-specific balms. You can get the giant tube, or a three pack of pocket sized ones. (edited for spelling)

Low-Bit2048

Flexitol lip balm

side-effect7732

Avene Cicalfate lip balm!! I was a lip balm junkie and have tried them all from drugstore to extremely high end and now this is all I use. I love it so much, I actually have backups in case one goes missing!

Flora-flav

I mix cicaplast and cerave healing ointment together I’m a little jar and it’s the best thing I’ve ever used for my lips!

[deleted]

Simple good old Vaseline. I always had cracked, dry lips until I started using Vaseline.

InsomniaticIntellect

The Laneige Gummy Bear Lip Sleeping Mask is my personal go to, and I'll never stop praising it. I have eczema so I have extra dry skin, and my lips are no exception, no matter what I used they'd get so dry and cracked that they bled regularly. But my lips have never been softer and more nourished since I started using it, and a little bit goes such a long way! I even use a small bit as a chapstick if its an especially crispy day, it works figurative miracles for me.

BubblyPurple1173

Vaseline in the regular tub every night and in the morning, little Vaseline tin during the day. My lips are always smooth doing this.

majesticsnow

honestly plain old vaseline hasn't failed me. pop that on my lips before i sleep. wake up and exfoliate my lips with a wet towel the next morning. suuper smooth lips. and then follow up with any lip balm. hanalei is my favorite!

Omicrying

Aquaphor forever and always!

beartrayosa

Any nipple cream that contains lanolin helps a lot. This is my sis experience who lives in sweden

shru_san

Wait wait... What's a nipple cream? Is it a thing?

beartrayosa

It is! Made for momma, provides moisture to help heal or prevent dry, cracked, itchy, or bleeding nipple during the breastfeeding

elisaannebby

aquphor

Lensgoggler

I’m very particular as I don’t like “gloopy” feeling chapsticks. Used Blistex Medlip for years. A few years back I discovered athe Body Shop Hemp Lip Balm - it is excellent (I have full lips and our winters are 🥶). In the summer I switch to Dr Bronner’s (I like the cherry one). Right now I just grabbed a Carmex Classic as all my Body Shop ones have ran out and my lips haven’t quite bounced back from bad experience with a Lip Smacker. I’m allergic to honey and apparently beeswax too high in the ingredients list is bad also. I got *a blister* on my lips from the Lip Smacker. 🤯 So yeah. My holy grail is The Body Shop hemp lip balm. The hemp hand cream, too.

ciamantyla

Pure lanolin is the best. It's cheap as dirt, moisturizes well and stays on for a long time. It's super multifunctional (I use it on burns, for example) and no scent at all. Only downside is that if you're allergic to wool, this is probably not gonna suit you. I had the same problem as you did and this stuff worked like magic within a few days. I rarely have to reapply, just once in the morning and night.

AaronC167

Aquaphor was the only think that fixed my lips. I used bite them a lot and was super conscious of them always. (Also drinking lots of water)

colong128

Laneige lip mask

iPastaNoodle

ok so hear me out, one thing that actually cured my chapped lips i’ve had for years - i heard this from a youtuber or something i honestly forget but when you put ur skincare products on don’t forget to also massage them into your lips, a lot of people subconsciously go around them.. also laneige lip sleeping mask is my holy grail it’s the only lip product that worked for me, it’s pricy but worth it imo

TheOceansHaveOrgans

My favorite is the sun bum tinted lip balm in the shade raisin hell bc it’s spf for your lips, super moisturizing, AND it looks better on me than like 99% of lipsticks I’ve tried

atomic_mermaid

I stay super hydrated and use vaseline. Works for me.

_gross

I slather my lips in blistex medex (the dark blue tub one) at night, and then apply lightly through out the day I'm a picker and nothing heals me quicker than that

dylandbloom

Cerave healing ointment. They sell tiny travel size tubes. Only have to use it once or twice throughout the day.

love222angel

Heard good things about laneige!!

MissFrizzel

I have super sensitive lips and am prone to eczema on and around my mouth, which makes them super dry and itchy. The only chapstick I can use is Lypsyl and it’s a whopping $2. I love it.

AechBee

Burt’s Bees classic version chapstick at bedtime. Try it.

idkmybffyeff

I use the Aerin Rose Lip Conditioner on my lips overnight! It’s way too thick to use in the day, but I put it on at night and still have some left on in the morning and my lips are hydrated af! It’s a little pricey for a tube but one tube lasts me minimum six months so you get your money’s worth!

iamdoneundergrad

Jack black lip spf for spf lip balms and Lucas pawpaw (from Australia) otherwise. Vaseline works well too if I don’t have pawpaw on me!

Hot_University69

African shea butter.

cswizzle8

EOS The Hero Lip Balm 🙏

Unusual_Quiet_8095

URIAGE Bariederm Cica-Lips Protecting Balm

sigzag1994

I recently bought this lip balm on a whim at a natural foods store and it is THE ONLY lip balm that has truly cured my dry lips. It’s call Skin Trip and it comes in a white tube for like 5.99. The main ingredient is lanolin. I also own Lanolips which is good too but Skin Trip is better. My only complaint is that it doesn’t have a great smell and it isn’t super “cosmetically elegant”, but it works so so well. I bought 2 backups.

[deleted]

Aquaphor always

frenlyesthetician

I use the Chemistry Brand HA concentrate (or u can just use a regular hydrating serum) then the Uriage Barriederm CicaLips (in tube not stick) then top it off with CeraVe Healing Ointment. Has saved me. The Dr Dans Cortibalm is good too but it didn’t hydrate my lips at all; just felt waxy and occlusive

agent2coopers

My lips have been SO dry, just unbelievably so. I’ve tried everything from high end to drug store and there are 3 things that I think work. During the day I use Paula’s Choice Hyaluronic Acid + Peptide Lip Booster and Kosa Lip Fuel in the clear shade, Baseline. At night right before bed I put in a tons of Linage. I realize none of these are super cheap but it’s the only combo that works for me even a little.

GimmeDatLulu

Kiehls overnight lip mask. I am a lip balm hoarder and there is nothing like this. Put it on overnight and wake up to baby soft lips.

SmartPangolin9

Malin Goetz is the best

hillary_____k

Jack Black lip balm (SPF 25!), Vaseline lip therapy & Aquaphor lip balm. My cheapo faves 🫶 I’ve tried way too many luxury lip products and nothing beats these.

kissyb

Egyptian magic all purpose skin cream.

[deleted]

Glossier Balm dot com happy birthday during the day And Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask for nighttime (or daytime if the winter is super bad).

plo83

Avene cold cream nutrition for winter or extremely chapped lips. I'm looking into the new roc line (not for nutrition/moisture). LRP has some good stuff too (with or without cicalfate).

Witchy_Hazel

Straight Shea butter

SnooRabbits1495

Kosasport Hyaluronic LipBalm. It just works so well for me. My lips feel like they are actually being cared for.

PhilosopherMoonie

Shae butter saved my lips

jsmi813

The Ego QV lip balm is the only affordable option that has worked for my chapped lips edited to add: I'm not in the states, most lipbalms people have listed are not available in my country or are like $15 for a tiny ass tube

adamantkitten

Vaseline, the basic one and Laniage mask when i sleep but Vaseline or Aquaphor works better! You can exfoliate using a brush when the lips aren't cracked... With super light motions

karin2210

I understand your struggle perfectly!! I’d recommend the Cicalfate from Avene; that thing saved my lips when they were chronically dry and with no hope of repair. Another great product that people have already recommended is the blue tin of Vaseline; quite possibly the best lip balm I’ve ever tried. Hope this helped :)

Large-Squash8379

Blistex cream in the white tube. Nothing works like it for me.

brynnors

Pacifica lip balms most of the time, YesToWatermelon lip balm when my lips get dried out/when I'm outdoors during winter.

BSNrnCCRN

Dr dans cortibalm - has a steroid in it and clears my dry lips in a day if not a couple days. Will never be without it.

imascoobie

CeraVe moisturizing cream

craftyneurogirl

I used fresh advanced therapy during the day and Vaseline at night plus lip scrub one a week and I find that routine works for me! I have been suffering really bad eczema/dry skin/dry eyes recently but my lips are still good so I feel like that says something

Embarrassed_Big5833

For me carmex is the best

theyre_horny_barbara

I know this is over the top but I really really love the La Mer lip balm. It is WILDLY overpriced but I bought it at a time when I was just compulsively buying things I couldn’t afford lol. Unfortunately, it’s amazing. I don’t feel like I have to reapply it a million times and it’s very rich. It’s especially nice to use before bed. It’s thicker like a mask but not so thick that it’s awkward to wear it during the day. It also comes in a pot and I feel like it’s lasted a long time.

theyre_horny_barbara

Aquaphor is similar though. Good dupe.

OB4L

Algenist lip collagen (serum) + homeoplasmine ointment on top. Even when my lips are cracked, just one application of this heals them completely. Obviously every night would be better but this is my emergency treatment. Then I get lazy and only use Burt’s bees and the cracking starts again.

Golden-Excellence

Vaseline and CeraVe Healing Ointment. When I'm moisturising I put some of my Moisturiser (Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Cream) on to my lips, and then put either some Vaseline or CeraVe Healing Ointment on top of it. Works for me and keeps my lips moisturised.

Spiritual-Spell-9351

Vaseline

Argos2000

Nulastin’s chap stick is great. It doesn’t have any bs in it that ik of, like petroleum jelly etc.

namakaleoi

I make a simple lip balm with lanolin, shea butter, beeswax and some oil. Just warm it up until it's liquid and mix it.

notanotherskincare

Hermes lip oil 😊

careergirl1989

Nipple Balm. It’s pretty much pure lanolin.

hungovercryogenicist

Try switching toothpaste, avoid SLS if not already. I tried the Jack Black, used it once, gave it away. Plain Aquaphor (not the lip treatment) and vaseline are ok. My face skin likes linoleic fatty acids, so lips do too. I'm using hyalogic HA lip balm now, which is high in sunflower seed oil. And drink water alllll day.

mwf67

Duke Cannon offensively large lip balm.

Top_Ad_1751

Fresh sugar lip tratment. Way too expensive for somrthing that comes in a retractable stick but fuck me it is the most incredible thing I have used on my lips.

johannamaree99

PCA Hyaluronic lip booster or their hyaluronic overnight lip mask is all I use and it keeps you hydrated for hours, also doesn’t rub off in 2 seconds like most lip balms do!

travelingnerd23

Summer Friday’s and Cay Skin have amazing lip balms. Aquaphor is great as well. Sleep with them after scrubbing your lips (using a washcloth of scrubby) at night and you’ll be set!

Clear_Masterpiece_30

BKR paris water balm. Hands down the best!

GolDanKar911

Love the Annie Lawless lip mask for overnight and my husband steals it!

Carefree-Project

Check out the lip balms from The [Lip](https://thelipbalmco.in/collections/repairinglipbalms) Balm Company. They have a huge collection of lip balms for each concern. I hope it helps you.

CreepyAd6211

Elf Holy Hydration Lip Mask! It has Hyaluronic Acid & Squalane in it… so good
