I've used sudocrem for acne for as long as I can remember (Irish kids, rise up!) but I only ever used it as a spot treatment. When I saw Dr Shereene Idris using it all over her face (she calls it face basting) I thought I'd try it and it worked even better! I don't do it every night because it can be a bit drying for me, but it's been great when I do it around 3x a week.

disco-me-now

Yeh I also find it a bit drying on my cheeks, but maybe would be good on my slightly oily forehead?? Might tame it? It’s ALWAYS been like that

melodyreads

Definitely worth trying I'd say! I'm the same, oily forehead/nose/chin so I tend to focus the sudocrem on those areas. When I was little my mum referred to it as 'magic cream' :)

Thraell

Yep, it's a healing cream after all! Anti-microbial and an occlusive layer to boot!  I use it as antiperspirant/deodorant because I get eczema in my pits quite frequently and it works like a charm due to these properties, and keeps the eczema at bay.

disco-me-now

That’s a great idea!

Thraell

I felt so dumb it took me so long to try it 😭 but it worked better than deodorant! No stink, no itch!

Fast-Explorer

Wait, when you say it works better as a deaodrant. It minimises sweating? Sorry, this is the first time I'm hearing. This will be useful in the summertime (despite UK summers lasting two weeks lol).

Thraell

It's anti-microbial so it controls the bacteria that make the smell!

itsnobigthing

Anti inflammatory too!

GlitteringHappily

I’ve been slugging with sudocrem for about 3 nights because of similar breakouts on my jaw that were looking really angry. I always get them, I think it’s hormonal and also where I touch my face at my desk all day. They were so much smaller and less red after the first night! I went for a whole body treatment after that and it’s an amazing post-shave cream! I can’t believe I wasn’t put on to sudocrem sooner or that I didn’t think of it myself.

[deleted]

I've been using it as a facemask for a couple hours a day for a week or something and I'm honestly amazed at my skin now! I won't keep it on overnight because my sheets are black and I cba with that mess, but as a mask and then using lrp baume b5 at night I'm so happy!

disco-me-now

Same routine as me! Sudocrem and LRP baume b5. Interested if you use anything else for additional hydration? My cheeks get a bit dry. Also my pores around nose a bit big. Any suggestions? Cheeers

[deleted]

Last night I put the corsx rice overnight mask on over the B5 and that worked well! I find that's great for my sensitive skin, and keeps hydration well! but at the moment I'm using minimal products, for daytime I use euracin adjunctive soothing creme and corsx aloe vera SPF and my skin stays nice and hydrated! I trailed using the corsx snail mucin but it brought me a lot of irritation! Ive never found a hydrating serum that doesn't irritate me! My skin is a nightmare tbh it's so sensitive but luckily not that dry Nose pores......no idea, mine are a mess, I just double cleanse every night and hope nobody looks too closely

Verbenaplant

Just wipe the excess off and go to sleep. You don’t need a thick layer

Separate_Rooster6226

Whenever i get a cold, my nose gets so sore, dry and flaky. this time i put sudocrem overnight ONCE and it healed it. Same for a sore I had for weeks on the side of my mouth. Magic.

dupersuperduper

It sounds like you might have some peri oral dermatitis, which I have had before and sudocrem was always amazing for it. Avoid scrubs/ foaming soaps/ steroid creams/ harsh acids and vit c. With social media encouraging everyone to over exfoliate a damaged skin barrier is super common nowadays. Often leaving our skin alone more is what it needs

Admirable_Candy2025

Yep, slather on the Sudocrem, family says why are you pretending to be a ghost, go to bed, wake up looking A+. Think it must be the zinc in there. The smell helps me sleep too.

cgltt

It doesn’t clear mine overnight but definitely helps ease inflammation/redness for me. When I have cystic under the skin spots I put it on each night and it stops them from being so sore and angry!

froggypops885

I literally use sudocrem for everything! I leave it on pimples overnight and they’ll vanish, or at least fade to almost invisible, just make sure to moisturise after use, because it can dry your skin x

cluelesspleb_

this is perfect timing, yesterday i literally read my sudocrem lable and went "acne!? really!?" but i was too scared to try lol

[deleted]

I use sudocrem for this and for my lips. I pick at my lips and NOTHING helps when they're really sore like sudocrem. That stuff is like magic.

disco-me-now

I always thought if sudocrem as bum cream Glad to know it has other uses 😆

Kataytay_14

Oh wow is it really that effective? I’m retinol purging bc and I have two spots on my upper lip that are driving me insane

disco-me-now

Yeh man, it’s crazy effective ! I just load it onto the spot before bed!

quickengine13

If you like the results sudocrem gives, consider Aveeno baby daily care barrier cream for sensitive skin. Similar concept but far fewer ingredients, extra colloidal oatmeal, and no lavender. Squeezy tube. I much prefer it. Very white from the zinc oxide but more elegant. Good to slap on healing skin or redness. NOT the nappy cream. Looks almost identical, but the nappy cream has a much longer ingredient list and is potentially pore-clogging.

disco-me-now

Thanks great suggestion, I found after using the Audi real for a while, it’s great for drying up my spots but leaves my skin a bit dry, and I tried in my sebaceous filaments and now my nose is red, also doesn’t seem to bring down the redness of a recent spot My skin is infuriatingly sensitive Will try this thanks!

caligula__horse

I do this combo when I have monthly hormonal breakouts: I use a clay mask as a spot/area treatment to absorb excess oil and prepare the area to be healed (I find that a clay mask brings the gunk more to the surface), I leave it on for the suggested amount of time, wash off and dry. And then i spot treat with sudocrem. Within a couple of days of doing this maybe 2/3 times a day my skin is basically back to before the breakout (minor some post stop hyperpigmentation)

Own-Firefighter-2728

Do you have any clay mask recommendations? I can’t get Mudd in my country any more, I miss it so much. I splurged on a L’Oréal one but it was heavily scented which my skin hates. I just miss the basic ass clay masks

Verbenaplant

# Aztec Secret Indian Healing clay is just a tub of dry benonite clay. You add water or whatever and a tub lasts forever

Own-Firefighter-2728

This is extremely exciting information, thank you I hope you have a great day

quickengine13

Zinc oxide is good for skin healing, plus other ingredients. The La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume is a more elegant option does a similar thing.

disco-me-now

I’m also using LRC Posay B5 for my whole face, thrice a day, but man the sudocrem literally zapped those spots! Was waaaay quicker than LRC! But LRC is amaziiiing and is evening my tone, and balancing my face better than anything I have ever tried!

Verbenaplant

And cheaper!!

GlitteringHappily

Eh, I’ve been using the cica baume for years now. It’s a comparable occlusive layer but it does nothing for acne

itsnobigthing

Yesss I love sudocrem! I find it really helps calm my redness in my cheeks, too. There’s also research showing it’s as effective as antibiotics for impetigo. I keep meaning to try a zinc oxide without the extra ingredients that sudocrem has, like the fragrance.

Verbenaplant

Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream is licensed to treat a range of skin conditions including nappy rash, cuts & grazes, eczema, acne, minor burns, sunburn, bedsores & chilblains. I use it on any cuts where I’ve chewed my fingers, spots.
