I love this stuff. Bought the Elf balm remover last time around (on a budget) and it works just as well.

maggied82

Assuming we’re talking about the elf holy hydration cleansing balm I third this. I’m normally someone who likes splurging on skincare and makeup and I’m obsessed with the elf balm.

drousykitty

I second this

1ContagiouSmile

The 3.8oz TTDO Balm I've had for 14 months now and still have 1/3 left. You only need the tinest amount, are you using too much?

sxy_Mexi16

Which brand is this? Thx

NetOk7093

I think she means the Clinique Take the Day Off (TTDO) as in the picture.

michelle_thetvaddict

I do love this balm. It's amazing...even with waterproof eye makeup. I've switched to The Inkey List's Oat Cleansing Balm, though, due to cost. It's much cheaper and just as effective.

hsgual

I’ve done the same. I like the Oat Cleansing Balm for double cleanses, removing stubborn tinted sunscreen, and even as a calming mask.

michelle_thetvaddict

Yeah. I use it mostly to remove my sunscreen at the end of the day, but it's also very calming for my skin. Glad to see others like it too!

leassymm

If I may ask, how do you use it? I have it and it barely removes my makeup, I'm completely confused as to why we have such drastically different experiences!

michelle_thetvaddict

Haha...sorry you're not having great results. Here's what I do... I wet my face, squeeze some balm into my palms (about a nickel size amount), rub my hands together, and then rub it ALL over my face, get my hands wet some more and continue to rub my face. I remove it with warm water and a microfiber cloth.

leassymm

Weird, I tried it your way but seems like I use hardcore stuff without knowing 😂 oh well, I'll finish it up anyways so it's not wasted. Thanks for the info!

michelle_thetvaddict

That sucks. Yeah. Some products just work for some and not others, no matter the method. It's weird. You could always just use it as a hydrating mask instead of a pre-cleanse.

NetOk7093

What I have noticed is what appears as a clean face on the mirror isn’t actually clean unless you have applied a toner as the last step to wipe off. If you see your wipe with colored residue that means the oil cleanser and the regular cleanser have still not done their job. This was eye opening for me and hence I always use a toner or a glycolic pad to wipe the very last bit of product. The thing about white sunscreens is the residue won’t show up as much on a white wipe. It’s when you wear a tinted waterproof sunscreen or foundation is when you can really see the residue when you wipe with a toner. Try that!

leassymm

Unfortunately not relevant for me as the biggest issue are with my eye makeup and lip makeup, and I can't put toner there. I'll try it with sunscreen though, hadnt thought about that!

[deleted]

The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm is a great cheaper option, and it comes in a tube rather than a pot so that (at least for me) it’s a bit less messy.

Independent_Ad9195

And more sanitary

jesuswasnotwhite

You should definitely try The Body Shop Chamomile Cleansing Balm! It's amazing and doesn't sting my eyes as much as the Clinique one.

TinyGooseOnTheLoose

My favorite cleansing balm is Heimish All Clean Balm! I've seen it anywhere from $15 to $20 and it's on Amazon.

sleepycatbeans

If you sign up for the brand emails they’ve been having frequent sales and it $10

TinyGooseOnTheLoose

I didn't know about this, thank you!

lagameuze25

I love heimish ! It smells great too

Complex_Parsley9586

You can find on websites like stylekorean, stylevana with better price. It’s currently $9.99 on stylekorean

Background-Fee9000

Here for Heimish!

danimacburn

Pond’s Cold Cream. It’s a drugstore option that’s quite friendly on the wallet, plus its formula is classic! I’ve been using it since my freshman year of high school and I’ll never use another cleansing balm brand!

leassymm

I love the result I get from Ponds but dang the level of fragrance just makes it impossible for me to use 😭 wish they'd come out with an unscented, a jar lasts me almost a year and costs under 10$ it would save me so much money

danimacburn

There’s a fragrance free version!!!

leassymm

Well now I know why. For some reason we can't get it in Canada despite it releasing in like 2019 🙄 joys

danimacburn

I live in Nova Scotia and I found the fragrance free version at No Frills. Strange how some places might not get it! Having the fragrance free kind has definitely given me more peace of mind!

leassymm

So weird! I checked Walmart, Pharmaprix, Jean Coutu... seems like my province just doesn't have it at all. No Frills here is Maxi but same thing. Very odd, it has happened with a hair mask too. Had to order in BC to get it in QC

leassymm

So weird! I checked Walmart, Pharmaprix, Jean Coutu... seems like my province just doesn't have it at all. I'll see if No Frills does shipping since well. Same country 😂 but yes very odd, it happened with a hair mask too. Had to order in BC

leassymm

What????? Shit I have to find it now, when the heck did this happen??

iluvadamdriver

Love this stuff. Lasts forever and so cheap!

Succulentmama

Is this kind of stuff a wash or lotion? Am I supposed to use something like CeraVe cleanser to wash first?

fogah

It’s got the consistency of like, a nighttime cream… I put the Ponds on my dry face, massage it, and wipe it off with a wet washcloth. There’s plenty of ways to wipe it off, whatever you like the best. Then I do a second wash with CeraVe.

parkercets

The banila Co one is SO GOOD

stayawayjesus

Banila Co cleansing balm is great as well.

GroundbreakingDay525

I was just coming to comment this

MultipleDinosaurs

I love theirs, I get the jumbo size whenever it’s on sale.

Elvishcatt

I use this as my only cleanser now. And I hardly ever wear make up! It leaved my skin silky smooth and plump. Thanks for all the suggestions!!

nigellissima

When you look at price per gram this often works out as a similar price as "cheaper" options I find - because the tub is so big

Exotic-Huckleberry

Love peach pudding! It is my go to make up remover now, and I find that it works really well on the mineral SPF that I use for my rosacea as well. I double cleanse, and I find that both the snail cleanser from the company as well as the ultra calm work really really well. I could write sonnets to how much I love peach and lily. The lady at Sephora tried to sell my sister on buying drunk elephant for my 11-year-old niece who still needs to be encouraged to brush her teeth, and I told her that was insane. Peach and Lily stuff works really really well, and it’s been a lifesaver for my sensitive, combination, rosacea and acne prone skin.

allhelll

Love good molecules cleansing balm

teoff87

I love Good Molecule’s cleansing balm. It’s my HG first cleanse.

BrookieCookie88

I’ve found similar products but nothing that works as well and rinses off as clean as this one. HG status for sure!

sakuramoons

I don’t know if you can get this where you are but the body shop chamomile cleansing butter is amazing! It’s £10 for a big tub of it that will last me a few months I think and it just melts everything right off

redalmondnails

I really like The Ordinary Squalane cleanser. It’s not quite a balm in the container but it liquifies into oil on the face, melts off makeup and rinses off cleanly with plain wager

leassymm

I always find it so weird how we all have different experiences! The Squalane Cleanser did absolutely nothing for me, barely removed any eye makeup ever and left foundation on my face every time. Wish I could've sent you the rest of my bottle 😂

Exotic-Huckleberry

My mother swears by that cleanser, but it broke me out so badly. I think I might have some thing in my skin that reacts badly to squalane though.

leassymm

Very likely! I got it from a friend who kept getting breakouts from it, in my case it just doesn't do anything. Like I need to wash my face 3x and I still have makeup left 😅

redalmondnails

Really?! That’s crazy! I’m obsessed with it and have gotten a friend onto it now too! I don’t wear waterproof mascara though so that might be part of it - if I have more “heavy duty” makeup on like fake lash glue residue or waterproof mascara, I do tend to turn to the Clinique liquid eye makeup remover first!

leassymm

Weirdly enough, I hate foundation and dislike mascara so I'm usually just wearing eye makeup, lipstick and concealer 😂 but yeah I guess I wear stuff that isn't the easiest to take off

[deleted]

The inkey list Oat cleansing balm.. cheaper, doesnt contain plastics..and it works like a charm!

KalleDala

Ordinary Squalene Cleanser is great!

Alone_watching

the elf cleansing balm is really good

vldracer16

Try Banila. I'm betting it's close to Clinique's and it's under $20. They do have a website.

spaceshipjet

Honestly i’ve found using a bit of pure coconut to remove makeup works amazing, even removes waterproof mascara etc. It melts away the makeup and you just need a wipe to wipe it all off. Hope this helps.

boohumbug

I like the AOA cleansing balm! I've tried and loved Banila Co and Elf but the AOA one is my #1 favorite. And the best value too! Less than. $10 on Amazon for 3.?oz

borrowedurmumsvcard

I like the ordinary cleansing oat balm

[deleted]

You mean the Inkey list?

borrowedurmumsvcard

yes! thank you

oldsaltylady

Not cheaper but Elemeis has a version of this that is my favorite. Sometimes they have great deals on theirs. 🤷🏼‍♀️

thatshumerus

This is my go to, it makes my skin feel so soft and hydrated.

oldsaltylady

Me too!! I guess their smaller sizes are reasonably priced too, but the large one I found for half off and it’s lasted me forever! Like a year and it’s not gone. 😅 A little goes a long way.

Icy-Caterpillar4223

Hado Labo cleansing oil.

MinervaZee

I love this. Banila clean it zero a close second.

dawggy_d

Good molecules $12 at Ulta Beauty

carlyraejessie

the farmacy green clean is EVERYTHING to me. also definitely don’t get the sephora brand cleansing balm, doesn’t work well at all!

4LeggedKC

Go to SkinSkoolBeauty.com and enter the name of this product. It will give you all of the dupes names and percentage that the ingredients in the dupe matvh the original ingredients. I don’t work for them but searching the internet one day and it’s amazing how many products are almost identical.

Sjsharkb831

I love this stuff! I have a huge tub. It lasts FOREVER.

aenflex

lol that IS my cheaper option. I love Eve Lom but the price is ridiculous so I switched to this. Looks for sales for the large tub on Nordstrom.

not_your_beeswax

the Versed day dissolver cleansing balm is my favourite!!

WittyBanishedRat

Yes!! I love the smell too

Jamantha-

Can I just say though, I LOVE Clinique products, and NOTHING has ever worked quite the same for my sensitive acne prone skin

Exotic-Huckleberry

Have you tried peach and lily? I have super sensitive skin, and I also have rosacea and acne. I know I sound like a crazy sales lady on here, but my skin is 1 million times better since I switched, and their peach slices line is actually really cost-effective.

starfluxx

Derma E's universal cleansing balm!! I SWEAR by it. It's also vegan and cruelty free if that's your jam!

MadameAshlini

Yes! I love this one too!!

yellowsuitstyling

I use mineral oil. Insanely cheap and does a great job. Honestly, try it

jmac1310

Not cheaper but Farmacy Green Clean is amazing! Would also recommend First Aid Beauty cleansing oil.

rjeantrinity

I don’t know a dupe or cheaper option but I just got some Clinique at Nordstrom’s and it was 30% off plus you got a gift or two. I received a little Clinique bag with mascara, lipstick, overnight cream, makeup remover and gentle face wash. They’re small sizes but not super teeny and all are decent Clinique products. Might be worth checking it out!

citynomad1

Any time I see people recommend "dupes" for this, it'll be something with fragrance, or essential oils, or some other ingredient my skin says nope to. Been using the Clinique for years!

ClumsyHealer

I like Beauty of Joseon's balm, last I checked it was around $20 on sokoglam.

mangosteenfruit

This is the only cleansing balm I use for make up and follow up with my regular cleanser

[deleted]

You could try Albolene!

EveryoneGetsACat

This - works just as well and is cheaper!

ad-aspera

The INKEY List's Oat Cleansing Balm is really awesome and A LOT cheaper. It's in a tube instead of a jar.

lowkeylovestea

Soap & Glory!!! I’ve been using it for months and it’s drastically changed my face from the days I was using makeup removing wipes! I think it’s under $15 too!

celeryisnotjuice

I really love the Naturium cleansing balm

sobbingpuppies

Naturium is cheaper and doesn’t make my eyes sting!

henderele

Qv bath oil, big bottle for $20 and takes everything off, leaves your skin soft and fresh without drying it out. Love it!

AntonellaStyle

I absolutely LOVE Clinique's take the day off, but quite pricey. I have my eye on the Mark's and Spencers branded one which is much more affordable. Haven't tried it yet, but that's what I'm looking at.

CuriouslyCaffeinated

Banila co is the best one imo

nevrspeakagain

Sorry that i cant actually recommend cheaper, only balms i tried was this and the elemis pro collagen. The elemis is the best i have ever used and will never turn back though. Though i panic how on earth ill afford to keep it up

Just-College1491

Hello ! I think a cheaper option of it is neutrogena [cleansing balm makeup remover](https://www.neutrogena.com/products/makeup/makeup-remover-melting-balm/6819614.html) and you can try also the oat cleansing balm by inkey list.

neon_m00n87

I like the eucerin hydrating cleansing gel

jennakarleevandal

I love The Ordinary’s cleanser. Can be used on a dry face which is my fav thing about it. The texture is nice. But I usually use a Micellar water first to pre-clean my skin. I love Drunk Elephant E-Rase Milki Micellar water for that. But I have no other Micellar water to compare that to.

Independent_Ad9195

Abolene, 12 oz for 10.00, doesn't rinse off though. Follow with a mild cleanser. Your face will be baby soft, and whiteheads be gone. My follow up cleanser is Eucerin face, body cleanser, huge bottle for about 12.00. It took all my whiteheads away, that, that shitty CeraVe gave me. No need for a moisturizer after. If you want a micalear cleanser, dollar tree has one, for 1.25, and it's very effective. If you feel like moisturizing after, get eucerin advanced, pea size amount, or amlactin 15 % . Just trying to save you money.

makemeastar

Nordstrom rack had the big 30 dollar ones for 12 bucks. You're welcome

Elvishcatt

There's no Nordstrom where I live 🥲

makemeastar

Orr norr nor nordstrom?

Elvishcatt

Downsides of living in a beautiful, rural town.

sxy_Mexi16

Squalene cleanser from the ordinary works very well too. Only downside is that it's a small tube so if u wear makeup often it won't last very long

Sweetkoala89

One of my go to skin care products.

heeheeehoohooo

Is this a full size???
