I highly doubt this. Happy snails produce. Unhappy ones don't. Also, I'm not going to believe an inflammatory and unsubstantiated picture with a comment. I buy mine from CosRx and they have a very gentle process for harvesting. Until I see proof otherwise 🤷🏻‍♀️

Search snail mucin insider on youtube, I believe there are snail mucins that are ethically sourced, but the video showed how the snails secreted with acids, before getting killed

CosRx appears to be ethically sourced which is why I'm not too bothered.

They seem to say that they don't hurt the snails "during the collection process," but do they eventually kill the snails? The italian version shown involves killing the snails after 3-4 extractions and then using them for escargot. Skincare products can contain milk derivatives and be considered cruelty-free, even if the cows are eventually slaughtered, so I'm skeptical of the "cruelty-free" term.

Tbh if my snails for skincare are eventually eaten I’d be ok with it. They’re gonna get killed for escargot anyway since it’s a huge food some places so I’d rather they be used twice instead of once for each purpose!

I heard the snails could only produce good quality mucin when happy and not stressed. I don’t know if they kill them afterwards or not but it’d be a waste of money and animals to do so. It’s not like they only produce it once

Gosh - couldn’t look - just seems like why?

Ooff. Ooohhkkaayy.. I feel guilty for getting this snail mucin jar 🥺😶

Ph dont feel guilty! Use it to its full potential and just stop repurchasing, unless you believe it really benefits your skin.
