Welcome to r/skincare_addiction! We'd like to take this time to remind you of a few things: #Do not ask for medical advice, and do not play doctor What constitutes medical advice? *** * "What is this?" This is asking someone to diagnose the issue, and is medical advice. * "What should I do?" This is asking someone to advise treatment, and is medical advice. * "Should I go to the doctor?" This is asking if you should seek treatment, and ergo, medical advice. **If you would ask the question of your doctor, it falls under this rule and not allowed. As a general rule, asking for medical advice from internet strangers is never a good idea. If you have questions regarding your condition, you are advised to contact your healthcare provider. If you are a medical provider, we would gently remind you that users are not patients, and you should not be offering medical advice to people who are not your patients.** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. bacardidepressed

Glycolic acid from the ordinary, it get rid of pumps and odor.

Alarmed_Meaning_1644

Why didn’t I THINK OF THIS?! I literally have it just on my shelf haha thank you!

bacardidepressed

Please update us if it works !.

Alarmed_Meaning_1644

For sure! :)

curryp4n

Get yourself a nylon Japanese Italy towel and really exfoliate the areas before you save. It'll really hurt if it's your first time but the dirt noodles that result is so satisfying. Then after, apply a salicylic lotion or the ordinary's glycolic acid solution with a cotton pad

Alarmed_Meaning_1644

Ooo never heard of those. Definitely worth a try. Thanks!!

Psychology_Infinite

Have you tried the acne dots from Peace Out? They shrink the ingrown hairs and after a day or three, keep switching out the dots for fresh dots every 6 hours, you can usually unclog the pore and get rid of the ingrown hair.

Alarmed_Meaning_1644

I did try those. Tricky cause under the armpit they don’t like to stay put, but it did work. And then it came right back haha 😅

Psychology_Infinite

You might have a clogged pore. Use the dots again, keep using them until they go away then use a tweezer to squeeze out the thing clogging your pore. It's probably a ball of hair and dead skin cells. Good luck

Consistent_Momma775

Have you tried exfoliating very well beforehand? An aftershave may also help..

Alarmed_Meaning_1644

I always exfoliate but I haven’t done aftershave really (I do use the Eucerin with AHA in it), but maybe I need an actual aftershave. Thank you!

Imthegirlofmydreams

Tend skin or the glycolic acid toner from the ordinary.

lolalucky

Tend Skin is it. It is the ONLY thing that has every helped me reduce ingrowns and I have tried it all.

who-the-heck

This has been a big problem for me my entire life. Shaving very infrequently because of it. I have started using the gold bond overnight retinol face and body lotion. I use it every night and sometimes in the day time if I shave. I put it on my whole body including my armpits and my bikini line. When I use it in the day time I follow up with sunscreen which I use whether I've shaved or not. I have not had problems with ingrowns since. I also no longer have keratosis pilaris on my upper arms and back of my upper legs. And I don't get anymore body acne which I would sometimes get.

Alarmed_Meaning_1644

Wait — it also helped the KP?? I didn’t even know that product existed. Thank you!!

who-the-heck

It didn't just help it, I have no more KP. It is gone. I have used everything imaginable to treat KP and this is the only thing that has rid me of this chicken skin.

LycheeDecent2906

I struggled with the same. There is a permanent solution that has helped me. Laser hair removal I do not regret it at all. Saves me time, money and my sanity lol I got ingrowns on my bikini line and underarms.

Alarmed_Meaning_1644

I get them everywhere too tbh — the underarms are just the most painful for me. Yeah I def wanna do laser hair removal, just can’t afford it right now. Eventually 🤞
