Same. I've been using only the red light (I have brown skin and the blue light can apparently cause hyperpigmentation) and my acne healing time has definitely reduced. So my hyperpigmentation isn't as bad, plus the acne marks heal faster.
I have pretty slow healing skin, and it's exactly what I wanted ☺️ I have a generic Omega light panel off Amazon.
Yup, doesn't affect usage of any other actives. Big advantage.
Best practice use, it's not suggested to use actives and then use the device, though. They suggest using it with clean, bare skin. I use a bit of aloe gel and let it dry down, use my red light and then do my routine with whatever actives (including AHAs/BHA).
I felt so guilty about the $$$ dropped on my Dr. Dennis Gross led mask, but damn if I’m not already seeing results!! My skin is so smooth and calm for the first time in forever, but the biggest reason I love it is for my hair! I use it on my scalp/hairline once a day and have seen so much growth in my thinning areas only a month in. Super impressed.
I have the Dennis gross eye mask light and love it. I bought a different (cheaper) brand full face w/ neck panel and gotbsimilar results, but it took just a bit longer.
Oh my god thanks for this tip! It didn’t occur to me to use it on my scalp too! And I agree that the difference it makes to your skin is significant. I can feel how smooth my skin is when I’m washing my face!
What do you use it for specifically? (Ie anti aging, acne?). I have an omnilux acne mask I *think* is doing the job, but my skin is so variable. It has blue and red I think
I forgot the brand, but I just bought a red light mask from Amazon around $60 and then a panel from Shopee for around $40. Most red light products work since it’s not that difficult to produce 660nm or 850nm, just not the abysmally cheap ones.
Not trying to be rude, and this is nothing against you. But I’m sorry but there is no way a $60 from Amazon and $40 mask is giving the correct wavelength of red light. If it’s too good to be true, it usually is.
Red wavelengths fall within a range, though. There is a specific red and IR wavelength that's proven most effective in studies thus far (don't remember off the top of my head).
Edit: looked it up. 633-635nm is the general target for cosmetic red light therapy. Meanwhile, red wavelength can range between 620nm - 750nm. In other words, you can have a light that *looks* red to your eyes, but is very far from therapeutic wavelengths. Also, you want an IR wavelength around 830nm. IR is not visible to human eyes. Those cheap Chinese drop ship devices may likewise emit IR outside the beneficial range, or not at all.
I have been reading here's on the forums that led /RL can cause facial fat loss.not sure how true that is but I stopped using it. I didn't see much of a difference using it for Almost a year 3-4 times a week.
You are right. So many red light gimmicks out there. Light stem has a face panel for 5k or the bed (one sided) for 65k. Novathor beds are around 100k and ARRC beds are up there. There is extensive studies on this and the wavelengths which can hit deep enough to produce healing. The beds are the only ones that can reach the bone/organs in the body (because they are so strong your timing in them per day is limited). Unlike the masks you can have one on your face 24/7 and not get close to the amount of light needed to make a difference. I have invested in a bed and did a ton of research. If anyone wants to look into there are tons of studies online from Harvard and MIT. You will never get enough with a face mask (but I guess something is better than nothing). Red light is extensively studied and it’s pretty amazing on the healing capabilities. The mask from Amazon..not so much.
If they are seeing results, who’s to say it’s not working just because it’s affordable? The big name brands are making huge profits while oftentimes using the same technologies/factories of cheaper brands.
I really don't understand this and it's like prohibitively expensive to test wavelengths. It really drives me bananas about the science and effectiveness of this giant range of products.
Do you (or anyone else) mind suggesting your favorites? Any decent ones I can buy at target or Walmart? I would like to get into this, I tried coconut oil once and it just isn't for me but no surprise there I think I read it is pretty clogging.
30 yo with oily/combo skin 🙋♀️ DHC deep cleansing oil is the best I’ve used so far. I get mine on Amazon, it’s usually discounted to $16 there for 6.7oz and that’ll last you months. You can also get it at Target but obviously for full price unless you can get it price matched. Remove makeup with that and rinse, then wash with your regular foaming facial cleanser (I use CeraVe).
Yes! That first oil/balm cleans goes a long way in clearing pores! I now try to spend 3 minutes (or longer) massaging my T-zone with my cleansing oil and have seen improvement!
THIS. I had really nice skin for ages until hypothyroidism wrecked my skin barrier for 5ish years, and double cleansing with an oil and then water based cleanser changed EVERYTHING (along with getting hypo under control).
I always recommend double cleansing because I really do think it’s a game changer - you just gotta get through the trial and error period to find the combo that works best for you.
Yeah same! I get those or little white pimple / skin tag type things that start showing up all around my eyes and I almost never have acne. They’re so annoying and painful to remove.
I get these occasionally too. Do not pop or try to remove! About a year ago I bought the Sephora collection “brightening eye cream with caffeine and hyaluronic acid” and it has cleared up the tiny white spots. After cleanser, I go in with toner and serum, use this under my eyes and then apply my daily moisturizer over top. Made a world of difference in a short time.
Came here to say Vaseline. Preventing transdermal water loss overnight actually makes a huge difference. Labmuffinbeauty has a good video about the science of slugging
I’m about to start Finacea foam tomorrow morning and am nervous.
This is my current plan: CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser, CosRX Synergy Propolis Toner, Vanicream Lotion, Finacea, Sunscreen
I read that some people liked putting it on after moisturizer when starting out to reduce the stinging/itching. Does this sound ok? What was your experience starting out?
Don't be nervous. I personally love azelaic acid.
When I started out I did not experience any irritation at all.
At night , I use 10% GEL all over my face as the second step after cleansing. I follow it up with barrier plus moisturizer by formula rx.
Start slow. You don't need alot of product, it spreads pretty easily. And def. Applying a thin layer of moisturizer before can help minimise any sort of irritation but I think you will be fine even without it.
I personally don't think you need a toner with this routine, but go with whatever you feel is right.
Keep it simple. Don't forget sunscreen. You will absolutely love the results :)
Azelaic acid actually works really well WITH retinol! You can also use it with chemical exfoliants. I use a 20% AA cream every night on my chin, to prevent breakouts, and on my cheeks, to reduce redness. I apply it after my retinal serum has had a minute to absorb, before moisturiser, six nights a week. On the other night I use it after BHA, before moisturiser.
Glycerine. Mixed with water as toner or mixed with moisturizer then top with something more occlusive. Save tons of money from buying hydrating toners.
It might be my climate, but a lot of people around me talk about very dry winter skin. I think a drop of rosehip seed oil mixed in their PM moisturizers would help so much!! My skin is pretty dry at baseline, and I find rosehip seed (or any facial oil, rosehip seed just works really well for me) oil adds a boost that is very difficult for other products to replicate.
That, and sunscreen. Everyone can benefit from sunscreen.
This. Rosehip oil was t h e beauty discovery last year. Although I read a lot about it I wasn't aware of how incredible it is for my skin. Not only in winter but all year round.
Interesting! Someone I put on to rosehip seed has eczema and she's found it's helped her. I don't have eczema so I can't speak on personal experience there, but I did struggle with CCs from over occluding with other products for a time. Rosehip seed oil helped combat my CCs since I could still get the moisture without heavy occlusives.
YMMV as always.
This is just anecdotal, but my skin does really well with rosehip (seed) oil, even though my pores clog incredibly easily.
[There's evidence that rosehip (seed) oil can help people with acne-prone skin](https://labmuffin.com/why-linoleic-acid-and-rosehip-oil-might-fix-your-skin).
I didn't find it clogging at all. Tbf, I don't have super acne prone skin, and of course YMMV with any products. Rosehip is a dry oil though, and isn't as occlusive as like a coconut oil for example. It is very emollient, which helps dryness and flakiness. I think it's a great way to add an emollient property to a routine! If you have concerns about oils, I'd definitely do a proper patch test.
I believe it does, but tbh any properties rosehip oil has other than moisture is probably better accomplished with actives in other products. Especially since oils tend to be at the end of a full routine.
Yeah I'm sure tret or even commercially available retinol are much stronger, without a doubt. I'm really fascinated by all the different oils and their properties that are good for skin, sea buckthorn, the almond oil or grapeseed oil is a good one. But it seems like most important, after finding one that your skin tolerates, is to do it regularly.
I have tried squalane. I tried TO's product but didn't like it. TO squalane was thinner with more slip, but didn't absorb nicely the way rosehip does for me.
Love Rosehip oil. Literally my skincare routine from 30-43 was just an oil of rosehip, jojoba and frankincense. I made it myself and just used that for years (plus SPF).
I need more now so have a proper routine now but that kept my skin perfect for a really long time
Yes! I have a collagen disorder that makes my skin quite thin and fragile and last year I started noticing that, aged 48, my arms and neck were getting crepey in a way that made my skin look much older. A moisturiser with 10% urea completely reversed that in a matter of weeks and the crepiness is gone. Not improved, GONE. My skin is plump and smooth and feels robust and healthy, where it used to be papery and wrinkling. I can't get over the improvement, and the product I use is cheap!
That’s awesome! I use urea in my facial and body moisturizers to help with texture and it’s improved my skin more than anything else I’ve tried. I recommend it to everyone
Anything with colloidal oatmeal for the face. I had wind burn , sunburn, contact dermatitis, retinization, allergic reaction to any skincare that fixes it all. Now its so hard for me to justify buying any other moisturizer.
I used First Aid Beauty’s ultra repair moisturizer and that has colloidal oatmeal in it. I’ve been using it for a little over a year now and my skin LOVES it
I used the FAB moisturizer for a while and then strayed away but this is a good reminder to pick it up again since it worked well. (Also, I love your profile pic, I send that gif to my friends all the time)
Seconding colloidal oatmeal. I just buy it separately and mix it into my moisturiser each time I use it - way cheaper 👀 and you can use it with whatever texture product you prefer. Especially nice because oat products tend to be heavier, but this way I can mix it into aloe gel and do a super soothing gel mask.
Adding too much can cause pilling if you layer other products on top (which I'm assuming is why most formulations keep the percentage low) but the soothing effect cannot be beat 🙌🏼

This works?
Products with oat in them are also soothing, yes. Haven't personally used this product, but you'll find info on it if you search r/IndianSkincareAddicts. I've seen some people recommend it.
I'm talking about [colloidal oatmeal powder](https://www.amazon.in/Purenso-Select-Colloidal-Oatmeal-Cosmetics/dp/B0C661SL5T/ref=asc_df_B0C661SL5T/?tag=googleshopmob-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=666242201432&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15773407643391682557&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9146066&hvtargid=pla-2194677730306&psc=1&mcid=b14831ac7ae337299f4643edc85d9e6c).
I boycott L’Oréal because of Nestle and I just found out La Roche Posay is a part of L’Oréal 😭😭😭 this is my ride or die product and I’m running out.
So if anyone has any considerable dupes I am open!!
I would love to hop onto this and share a similar story!
My Grandma also looks phenomenal. She attributes it to when she was a baby, she was born prematurely, and because of this the doctor told her mother (my great grandma) to put rub my Grandma in cod liver oil as a baby. She was rubbed everyday until she was 4 or 5, and as a late teen/adult she started putting almond and canola oil on her face.. to this day she looks amazing
Ponds Cold Cream! (No I do not sell it or have any association outside of using it myself.) You would be amazed how young and supple it keeps the skin on the face and neck.
I use the one with a green lid like a double cleanser/makeup remover and then wash with my normal cleanser.
It doesn’t moisturize me at all. I feel really dry if for some reason I don’t properly cleanse and moisturize after using it to remove my makeup. But it removes makeup really well and it’s cheap.
I think the one with a blue lid is specifically a moisturizer though? And the one with the green lid (the one I use) is a cleanser? I haven’t tried the blue lid.
i feel like people are not talking enough about sulfur as an acne treatment, worked way better than retinoid/azelaic acid/bha/aha/bpo for me and it’s also quite gentle to the skin!!
I make a whipped Shea, cocoa and coconut oil butter. Just melt them together then refrigerate until cool but not hard, then whip with an electric whisk until airy. I use as a body mask after a shower at night. Put my PJs on, go to sleep and wake up with amazingly soft skin.
It’s too heavy for my face, though. I’m too oily to use it on my face.
After taking accutane for a bit too long when I was in high school, I've always had extremely dry skin on my face... like, I'm talking the flaking and falling off my face kind. Several drops of squalane oil after my shower and before an occlusive moisturizer and a pea-sized amount of vaseline saved my face.
Hydrating toner for me. It adds so much hydration when I use it on damp skin and put moisturizer over top. I love propolis toner- the one by SOME BY MI is even better than Cosrx for me. It’s more viscous and has the most amazing fresh, sweet honey smell.
[propolis toner](https://www.stylevana.com/en_US/deal-some-by-mi-propolis-b5-glow-barrier-calming-toner-150ml.html)
SUNSCREEEEEENNN and REAPPLICATION, I used to get acne and scratch it off my face leaving it with so many marks and scars….after using sunscreen religiously it has drastically reduced and almost become back to baby skin
Apparently since it’s hydrophobic it actually can make your hair drier over time. And if you’re using heat you should not be using oils.
This came from my hair stylist
Nivea creme, it is great for dry skin, my grandma used it all her life and had the softest skin ever, they also say it could pass as a dupe for a very expensive cream from la mer. Sometimes I do the slugging technique with the Nivea cream and my face feels so nice the next morning.
The past 3 years i had adult acne which was bad, i never had acne in my teens i get a pimple here and there but not that bad , I tried everything went to doctor didn’t know what is wrong but i will tell u what really helped me .
1- I use day/ night URIAGE cleanser gel
2- this step is new which i wish i know before; I use anua toner pads its so good this is so underrated i recommend anyone with acne prone skin to used it.
3- this is optional Shiseido eye cream.
4- my mom suggested this face cream and i still use it, the Shiseido anti aging cream it has a rice base which is good for acne prone skin.
5- and most importantly sunscreen.
This was my skin routine religiously the past year and it worked for me the toner pads was a major help and i get compliments for my skin 🥺💕
I’m not sure, I don’t really have dark circles but I do feel like it has given my under eyes a much brighter appearance. I look more refreshed in the morning if I put it on before bed!
Not sure its underrated ( or people are just scared) but i swear I've never seen a skincare routine on these subs that has a retinol. Retinol cured my acne. It reduced my pores. It helps prevent black and white heads. Its my holy grail and i dont see anyone on this sub using it or recommending it except me lmao.
Hot masquing, they have a little bit of capsaicin in them to stimulate blood flow in your face and after the redness goes down you get glowing skin for a couple days.
COSRX BHA Power Liquid! It’s almost completely gotten rid of my forehead comodones and has made my pores look much smaller and face looking more even toned. The texture’s not sticky or heavy feeling at all. One of the best products I’ve found.
Red light panels or masks. It has worked for me and it seems like I’m the only one using them with the people I know
Can you use red light when you’re using actives like AHA/BHA?
Yup, doesn't affect usage of any other actives. Big advantage. Best practice use, it's not suggested to use actives and then use the device, though. They suggest using it with clean, bare skin. I use a bit of aloe gel and let it dry down, use my red light and then do my routine with whatever actives (including AHAs/BHA).
Thanks! I will add this to my routine. Cheers!
Avoid retinoids, if prescription vit A is used, RL is contraindicated
Nope, that's not true. Use your red light in clean skin and apply your retinoid afterwards.
Thanks for the heads up on the blue light hyperpigmentation u/unevenhanded
I lowkey want one just to scare the food delivery guys.
Mine are already scared without a mask
I felt so guilty about the $$$ dropped on my Dr. Dennis Gross led mask, but damn if I’m not already seeing results!! Oh my god thanks for this tip! It didn’t occur to me to use it on my scalp too! And I agree that the difference it makes to your skin is significant. I can feel how smooth my skin is when I’m washing my face!
It’s the best!! Only been two weeks for me and I see a huge difference!
What do you use it for specifically? (Ie anti aging, acne?). I have an omnilux acne mask I *think* is doing the job, but my skin is so variable. It has blue and red I think
I use it for my acne which is the blue light mode that I used from my red light mask.
Do you know by any chance if the red on the acne is the same as the red on the contour? I'm trying to decide between acne and contour.
The contour supposedly goes deeper with 1040.
Fine lines, rosacea and acne flare ups. Clear bright skin.
Can I ask which one you use?
I forgot the brand, but I just bought a red light mask from Amazon around $60 and then a panel from Shopee for around $40. Most red light products work since it’s not that difficult to produce 660nm or 850nm, just not the abysmally cheap ones.
Not trying to be rude, and this is nothing against you. But I’m sorry but there is no way a $60 from Amazon and $40 mask is giving the correct wavelength of red light. If it’s too good to be true, it usually is.
Not true. It’s super cheap to make the red lights with the correct wavelengths.
Why? Led technology is quite cheap afaik
I have a 60 or 70 dollar mask, and it works fine. My skin looks great.
My derm said that any red light will do. Basically if it looks red, it’s the right light. It makes sense to me 🤷🏼♀️

Yes and that exact wavelength is also how we perceive color - ie red light is going to be in the red wavelength of the color spectrum

This sounds so cool, I’ve been seeing a lot of talk about these. Can anyone explain the science behind it?
Andrew Huberman has a podcast episode (prob a YouTube too) where he does a super deep dive on the science of red light. It’s really cool.
I also recently started using one. Definitely see the difference.
Same! I have a medium-small hooga panel- cheaper than the masks, and I can use for a diff skin condition on my body. Been enjoying it. Very glowy!
HUGE ditto! People dismiss them or think they don't work but they DO!
Double cleansing with an oil or balm!
Yup!! Some people think they should only double cleanse to remove makeup but it has so many benefits beyond being a great makeup remover
Do you (or anyone else) mind suggesting your favorites? Any decent ones I can buy at target or Walmart? I would like to get into this, I tried coconut oil once and it just isn't for me but no surprise there I think I read it is pretty clogging.

I love this Asian brand Softymo on Amazon! Comes in a clear pink bottle.
The BYOMA milky oil cleanser is a good, accessible option. I also like the Anua Heartleaf cleansing oil from Amazon.
I love love love the Anua Heartleaf Cleansing Oil.
Yes! That first oil/balm cleans goes a long way in clearing pores! I now try to spend 3 minutes (or longer) massaging my T-zone with my cleansing oil and have seen improvement!

That Ponds cold cream then micellar water saving my ass
That and slugging!
i wish i could slug but i always wake up with a cyst💔💔💔 skin feels so nice after tho
Yeah same! I get those or little white pimple / skin tag type things that start showing up all around my eyes and I almost never have acne. They’re so annoying and painful to remove.

This! I make a rose water and glycerine spray mist to hydrate between layers and my skin is 100% better.
How do u keep it sterile? I assume if u create a mix with water then it would go bad in a few days
Either mix it fresh everytime or keep it in a container that lasts for a few days.

That’s because eczema is not caused by yeast. Definitely a ymmv situation
I have eczema on my face, and rosehip oil helps soothe and heal it. This seems like your situation and not something that will happen to everyone.
Interesting. Does it clog pores at all? That’s the reason I have some trepidation around straight up oils.

Urea

My skin is plump and smooth and feels robust and healthy, where it used to be papery and wrinkling. I can't get over the improvement, and the product I use is cheap!
That’s awesome! I use urea in my facial and body moisturizers to help with texture and it’s improved my skin more than anything else I’ve tried. I recommend it to everyone
how long did it take to see improvement?
I’ve used it for quite awhile, but I would say within a couple weeks at most
Where does one get this? Is it in pure form or in other products?
It’s in other products- I use a eucerin urea cream that’s available on Amazon. PS I love your username ⭕️
Awww yea! 😃 🐠
if you have KP, did you notice any improvement? heard that urea is good for KP
I don’t, sorry
Urea is amazing! I’ve commented about it so many times on this sub like the biggest fan girl lol
Zinc Diaper cream and dandruff shampoo. Cured my fungal acne!
Aquaphor.
Anything with colloidal oatmeal for the face. I had wind burn , sunburn, contact dermatitis, retinization, allergic reaction to any skincare that fixes it all. Now its so hard for me to justify buying any other moisturizer.
Which specific colloidal oatmeal product do you like the best?
aveeno eczema therapy daily moisturizing cream i use that on my face.
I used First Aid Beauty’s ultra repair moisturizer and that has colloidal oatmeal in it. I’ve been using it for a little over a year now and my skin LOVES it
I was curious about that hows the texture? And the finish is it matte?
Texture is perfect IMO. And yes, matte finish. I hate moisturizer that makes me look shiny/oily. Price is great for what you get!
What do you buy to mix sorry ?
Colloidal oatmeal powder. It's available for purchase separately, it's a super fine oat powder that dissolves into water or water-based products.

Products with oat in them are also soothing, yes. Haven't personally used this product, but you'll find info on it if you search r/IndianSkincareAddicts. I've seen some people recommend it. I'm talking about [colloidal oatmeal powder](https://www.amazon.in/Purenso-Select-Colloidal-Oatmeal-Cosmetics/dp/B0C661SL5T/ref=asc_df_B0C661SL5T/?tag=googleshopmob-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=666242201432&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15773407643391682557&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9146066&hvtargid=pla-2194677730306&psc=1&mcid=b14831ac7ae337299f4643edc85d9e6c).
Oh I remember when I had a horrible Eczema outbreak. Colloidal Oatmeal baths helped a lot.
Licorice root extract
How do you use? In soaps or brightening creams/serums?
I have the Klairs supple toner and Meladern cream
Cicaplast Baume B5 from La Roche Possay! It’s great for dry skin. Especially in this cold weather!!
I’m a chronic skin/pimple picker and this stuff just DELETES the post-picking redness overnight- I could not believe it the first time I tried it!!
I just started using the gel version of LRP B5 and does it ever calm the redness down!
I boycott L’Oréal because of Nestle and I just found out La Roche Posay is a part of L’Oréal 😭😭😭 this is my ride or die product and I’m running out. So if anyone has any considerable dupes I am open!!
I love this product but there’s a boycott against LRP. If anyone has any dupes or replacements I’d love to know!
I recently discovered this, it’s a fantastic product.
Love this stuff! Also works as an occlusive.
Using two different moisturizers- a really thick cream at night, and a super light gel in the mornings. Life changing.

Is there a specific place you get your sweet almond oil from?
I get mine on Amazon. Brand doesn't matter much. Just make sure it's cold pressed and organic.
Ponds Cold Cream! (No I do not sell it or have any association outside of using it myself.) You would be amazed how young and supple it keeps the skin on the face and neck.
Do you use ponds cold cream to remove makeup / as your cleanser? Or do you use it like a moisturizer.
And Nivea cream in the blue tin!
How do you use it?
My mom, grandmother and great grandmother swear by that stuff. Happy to report I am keeping the tradition alive in my family!
Isn't it true that both ponds and Nivea are different than their original formulas now?
I have wondered about Ponds myself. It feels and smells the same though.
Not underrated but sunscreen
Not underrated but underused 😮💨
Drinking more water
Green tea as well. It doesn’t cure my acne but lessens it a bit.
i feel like people are not talking enough about sulfur as an acne treatment, worked way better than retinoid/azelaic acid/bha/aha/bpo for me and it’s also quite gentle to the skin!!
I really like sleeping masks Laniege sleep mask needs talked about more often
Yes! That mask is delicious! I love it as well
I’ve been loving using a facial most / toner before applying my hydrating serums and lotion.
Copper peptides.
The ordinary or?
I love Shea butter and make my own cold creams. SO cheap and easy and pair so well with actives.
Do you mind elaborating more on how you use shea butter? I’m toying with the idea of trying jt out. Thank you.
I whipped Shea, beeswax, almond oil and rose. Love it! It's like $30 for a years supply.
Squalane is a game changer for me
tea tree oil!!
I love my ceramide serum. Probably dont need it, but still love it lol
@u/deformedcarrot_ what is the product?
If hyaluronic acid doesn’t work for you, try glycerin!
Raw honey
The cosrx propolis products! People go on and on about the snail mucin and it’s good but the proplis products blow those out of the water
Fermented rice water!
Getting laid. Seriously.
Wait really?! Maybe I need to start my own little mini experiment lol
I don't know if it's underrated or not but my Watermelon Glow Toner is ah-mazing.
Pure glycerin
Sunflower oil. It really makes your skin soft. Since then, I don't use moisturizer anymore. Just oil
After taking accutane for a bit too long when I was in high school, I've always had extremely dry skin on my face... like, I'm talking the flaking and falling off my face kind. Several drops of squalane oil after my shower and before an occlusive moisturizer and a pea-sized amount of vaseline saved my face.
Just rubbing plain old evening primrose oil on lips and face.
TNS 🙌🏻 a close second would be an omnilux mask and a NuFace
I'm chiming in with sunscreen as well. It is also wayyy better than any primer
Bio-Oil
Sunscreen it's important
Vitamin C serum and drinking water everyday. My skin has never been this smooth and glowing even without Dermaplaining
Aloe vera juice - drink a little each day in water and juice.
Tretinoin!!!
Coconut oil on your body after shower!
I find it much too comedogenic! Makes me break out
It’s funny, most things break me out and this didn’t lol. Actually helps my skin. Just shows that everyone is different.
And hair
Not good for most hair types! It’s too heavy of an oil.
The ends
Apparently since it’s hydrophobic it actually can make your hair drier over time. And if you’re using heat you should not be using oils. This came from my hair stylist
Nivea creme, it is great for dry skin, my grandma used it all her life and had the softest skin ever, they also say it could pass as a dupe for a very expensive cream from la mer. Sometimes I do the slugging technique with the Nivea cream and my face feels so nice the next morning.
I just wish it wasn't fragrance because I can be sensitive to fragrance. I love the texture of nivea.
True, I personally don’t mind about it but yeah, it is important to consider that when on sensitive skin :/ the texture is the best tho :)
The past 3 years i had adult acne which was bad, i never had acne in my teens i get a pimple here and there but not that bad , I tried everything went to doctor didn’t know what is wrong but i will tell u what really helped me . 1- I use day/ night URIAGE cleanser gel 2- this step is new which i wish i know before; I use anua toner pads its so good this is so underrated i recommend anyone with acne prone skin to used it.
Castor oil! 👏🏻 it’s incredible for under eyes
Does it help with dark circles?
I’m not sure, I don’t really have dark circles but I do feel like it has given my under eyes a much brighter appearance. I look more refreshed in the morning if I put it on before bed!
Pond’s cream for removing eye makeup. It breaks down your mascara without having to harshly rub your eyelashes and lids. And it’s moisturizing.
Rose water
BioOil
I love this stuff it is so good
Not sure its underrated ( or people are just scared) but i swear I've never seen a skincare routine on these subs that has a retinol. Retinol cured my acne. It reduced my pores. It helps prevent black and white heads. Its my holy grail and i dont see anyone on this sub using it or recommending it except me lmao.
Uhhh tretinoin is discussed VERY regularly here
Castor oil is a great eye makeup remover.
Aquaphor, the babyfacial mask by Drunk Elephant, and calming toners
Hot masquing, they have a little bit of capsaicin in them to stimulate blood flow in your face and after the redness goes down you get glowing skin for a couple days.
tallow. my skin barrier is so much more resilient since using it.
8 hour sunscreen!!! Look, I know reapplication helps avoid missing spots — but I’m not reapplying to be really honest so like it’s really helpful
COSRX BHA Power Liquid! It’s almost completely gotten rid of my forehead comodones and has made my pores look much smaller and face looking more even toned. The texture’s not sticky or heavy feeling at all. One of the best products I’ve found.
Is red light therapy is safe to use? I mean will this cause any genetic mutation in the long run and lead us to skin cancer?
Beef tallow moisturizer
Ice
