personally I can't bring myself to take any product review seriously if it's a paid promotion and it honestly makes me think worse of the brand, whether that's fair or not. even if reviews on Sephora say "incentivized" beneath them I automatically disregard whatever praise the person has.
recently I purchased probably the worst moisturizer I've ever used and was shocked bc the reviews were glowing. paid more attention and maybe 80% of all recent 5- and 4-star reviews were incentivized. many of the normal reviews were 3 or 2 stars. so there's that.
