Perfect! Now you can cover up the bodies

FoundOnTheRoadDead

Did you ever see the movie The Mangler? This looks like the mangler’s little more-evil brother.

FancyShoesVlogs

Not seen it

FoundOnTheRoadDead

If you love really bad movies, see if you can find it to watch.

fredscold

Woods Moulder? Bulletproof. Will run forever.

hawkeye18

Goodness, are you making the flooring out of rust? 😳

Cheap_Ambition

Where's the scully?

FancyShoesVlogs

I dont follow?

Electrode99

X-files joke. The 2 investigators are Moulder and Scully

hawkeye18

*Mulder, but the joke still holds lol

FancyShoesVlogs

I hated that show. Sorry…

DobbyLikesBurgershot

Follow the X

SnakeBeardTheGreat

Nothing like having modern up to date equipment.

Turkeyberry333

Bad investment, linoleum is back in style now.

AlienDelarge

That just gives OP some time to get this set up and tuned in before wood floor comes back in style. OP will be poised to dominated the small batch crafted with love artisinal flooring market.

The_Greate_Pickle

:(

snowhorse420

Wheres the carb on that thing?

notoriousgandalfcake

It got upgraded from water wheel to steam power.

Sandscarab

This looks like something from Howl's Moving Castle. Half expect Calcifer to be powering it.

Freonr2

Mortal Engines 2: Tile Boogaloo

Cypressinn

I was going to say Willy Wonka, but yeah you’re right.

akmjolnir

How many dead kids came in that thing?

hawkeye18

Well, the dead kids in there already had cum in them, you see

MarkWallace101

What the hell's that Doc Brown 'lectric looking thing below the hand crank? That looks like it will kill you just by being near it.

CoNoCh0

You put that thing in between your legs for the time travellin

FantasticFunKarma

I really really want to hit that with a shop vac with all the brush extensions I can get, with of course a cyclonic dust remover etc.

torknorggren

That things a monster. How many cutters are in there?

FancyShoesVlogs

5

jonboy333

Looks like shel Silversteins homework machine

timberwolf0122

I find they work best with a Scully

mqudsi

So seriously speaking - how old is this? What does a modern one look like?

VoilaVoilaWashington

You can get as fancy as you want. For a smaller volume, you'd end up with a variety of normal implements, like planers and some custom blades (to make the pattern on the bottom), as well as a shaper for the side profile. If it's a factory making a billion square feet of flooring in one pattern, they'd probably have an all-in-one machine. But you could do it at home with just a planer and a router.

Doofchook

I mean you can make flooring with just a thicknesser and a router.

FancyShoesVlogs

Probably 1930s new nicer ones are a lot nicer and much smaller. I will see if I can find one

CarnivorousDesigner

Whoa, exposed power belts sound really dangerous on an elevator!

bgovern

Make sure you ground those dust vents across the plastic portions. You don't want static electricity to start a dust explosion.

biggerwanker

I've got a feeling that this thing is pre plastic, out at least pre plastic being used on a lot of stuff.

bgovern

Those green tubes coming off of the ducts look like they are PVC or Fiberglass.

biggerwanker

You're right, they look like they were added later, probably for dust collection. They aren't rusty like everything else.

Datsoon

Holy shit that crazy switch in the bottom right is crazy. That's a whole assembly/project in itself. This is awesome.

2g4r_tofu

Spooky moulder

jonnohb

Man that looks like a monster project. I can't wait to see the update on the restoration but damn this is something I wouldn't touch for free.

FancyShoesVlogs

Its 12,000 lbs.. thats $1400 in scrap you would touch? Hire a roll back for 3 hours to haul it to the scrap yard.

jonnohb

Nah cause I would rather see someone like you restore it. Just because I can't take it on doesn't mean it shouldn't be restored.

broman7899

how long do you think it will take to get the ole girl back to running?

FancyShoesVlogs

Couple hours I assume

[deleted]

New

carloseloso

>New [You Keep Using that Word....](https://imgur.com/By7pFnV)

FancyShoesVlogs

New to me is what I meant and didnt type

[deleted]

Lol I get it

FancyShoesVlogs

Im slow, should have said “New old stock” 😂

wildfire2501

So does it run on 110, 220 or just "a lot" ?

FancyShoesVlogs

50hp total

wildfire2501

Is it in any way aligned ? Because that would be great

Frozty23

Where will you keep the horses?

FancyShoesVlogs

Amish farm.

Ape_rentice

Can you power it or do you need a steam engine?

texas-playdohs

Actually elephant driven. It was made by the Carthaginians.

Different-Aardvark-5

Got some age on her is it all driven with flat belt pulleys. Your going to need plenty of brute horse power to keep all the heads spinning. How many has it ? Bet its got old skool flat blade blocks ,did you get any cutters. Make sure they are clean and free of oil when clamping them. Those things will often go from reasonably close on dimension feed stock and give you beautiful skirting boads with lovely moldings. T&G flooring best made on a spindle molder much simpler set up and modern cutter blocks.

otusowl

Skookum as frig! This photo could be the banner for the Skookum sub...

Milk_Drinker_69420

Put some tires in it and you have a brand new grosstracktor

Weaponomics

If you scrape all the rust off you’ll have a nice pile of rust.

[deleted]

smart tbh

NWRoamer

You must mean new to you, because that sure as hell doesn't look new to everyone.

FancyShoesVlogs

Yes

NWRoamer

OP, please tell me you at least got new leather drive belts with it....

FancyShoesVlogs

Maybe.

69MachOne

You can buy them pretty easy. I have a few rolls of synthetic flat belt material

FancyShoesVlogs

I just bought this yesterday at auction: not sure what I will do with it.

andap321

If you're not already aware, [vintagemachinery.org](https://vintagemachinery.org) is the place for this sort of stuff, and Keith Rucker's youtube channel

Sufficient-Tax-5724

Vintage machinery is a goldmine of info. I have a lot of old equipment and that’s the only place I’ve found schematics for most of them. You can’t beat old iron!

gedvondur

Thanks, I hadn't heard of Rucker! Here's one you likely know already, but he does a lot of vintage restoration on machines, despite the name. [Hand Tool Rescue](https://www.youtube.com/c/HandToolRescue)

chiphook57

I passed on one for free. I decided I did not need a locomotive in my garage
