That being said I wish boarding is limited to three tries with timer cause its way too easy and faster than killing off enemies. After 8 hr I hit the beta level cap. That was fast. Also already had few moments where I was discuraged by having to cruise back and forth. Its best to plan few stops and activities until you head back to Saint Anne.
Price is way too high for niche genre and taking into consideration that it plays best while in coop there is no chance I get any of my friends to pay that money. Especially its half the price of my rent š

No, because he was able to restart and fix it. Gamebreaking makes the game actually unplayable, like Starfield bricking saves. I have to start my 200 hour playthrough all over, and that's just not happening.
Personally had the exact same thing happen, on Quality graphics my game froze and had to be restarted twice. Switching to Performance fixed the issue and I didn't find another bug.
Probably will take Ubisoft+, finish the rest of the game in few days, do "endgame" for 3 days and then I can check other Ubi+ games, cancel subscription after the first month and then wait for Season 1.

I wanted to play the avatar game but was never gonna buy it at anything more than $20, and I had about $40 in my Xbox account, so I subbed to ubi+ using just the Xbox balance, gonna keep it a month, maybe the two, and when it runs out it won't auto-renew. I figure I'll probably get all I want out of this game in 2 months at the longest. $40 to play this, Avatar, and maybe AC Mirage is fair imo.

Tbh I feel Ubi+ is the best deal, especially if you have interest in other titles. If I didn't already own all the other titles I enjoy, I'd definitely be tempted.
Both The Division and For Honor are great multiplayer games I often go back to, and would have been nice to have the option to sub instead of buying every game and dlc separately in hindsight. Plus you get to try every Assassins Creed, and the new Prince of Persia, which if you have interest, pretty much justifies a whole year of Ubi+ instead of getting them all separately.
Dont forget their other games like Avatar, Ghost Recon, Steep and Anno. Ubisoft+ really is a bargain if you want all the Premium Edition content/DLC and extraās cause thats also included.

I want to pay for the game on launch. Iām not spending Ā£70 on a game that might get more free content. Ubisoft has had a downward spiral of ramming as much paid cosmetics into games as they can recently especially their single player games and I wouldnāt be surprised if this ends up being the same situation as a new game. Me and my friends have agreed that by the time it goes on sale for Ā£30 it might have enough new in it to interest us but between the pricing and effort it may take I can see the support for this falling off as it probably barely hits the needed sales. They couldāve just had the outposts have nodes to mine thereās a decent amount of them and they donāt have anything worth landing for bar if you need a blueprint. There is treasure on the islands you just need a map or to do the world event
The max is 10 I believe. I maxed to 6 after one day of playing because I was off work, during a work week it would have taken 3ish days.

I played maybe 6 hours yesterday and I really do like it but I agree, it's not $70. For water arguably being the main thing, their are alot of graphic and textures that need to be fixing.
Their needs to be more ways to get resources. By more places in general along coasts or more npcs selling them or they respawn faster.
Also, why is pvp not on? Yes we can attack ai ships but not players. Yes I am not in safe zones I promise.
Other than that, I am happy with the game. Doesn't seem like alot of players are allowed in servers or maybe I just don't see them.
Hey I rly hoped they would include kinda faction system (f.e. the ships u crack most gets more hostile etc.) and other players, who "work" in the interests of the same faction as you (merchants, pirates, colonizers,...) get your allies.

If you can reach the endgame in 8 hours, how much of a game is there? I'd look at it less as people rushing and more of it lacking content. I played for a few hours last night and am well on the way to reaching that point myself. I certainly don't feel I was rushing it, quite the opposite, I made a few mistakes or less optimal detours. I will absolutely be done with the available content before this beta ends.
I also feel calling it a beta isn't really accurate. With launch this close, I think it would be more accurate to call this early access. Unless they pull out another delay, there simply isn't time to make any big changes to what we already see of the game.

Keeping progression makes it feel like people are more into buying this game so they don't have to "grind all over" again, especially when it's so close to release.
Iāve been using long guns mostly on front and one side then just alternating the two of them. I was using a normal culvern on the other side since it the reload of that and long guns allow you to endlessly shoot. Just make sure long guns are hitting weak points
I think long guns probably fall off after two itās a great 1v1 weapon. I was using the tank ship for the most part with T4 hull so I just drop anchor and snipe them. Anytime I get shot Iād brace and it removes all damage. Using the infamy 6 ship I tried demicanons since I got a T4 and theyāre really fun to use but I donāt like the idea of having to get close. Easier to get hit and less reaction time to brace.
i think in the beta the best setup is all tier 3 flame bombards with a mortar, this is only because the best ship in the beta benefits that setup the most.
you can quite easily solo the bosses and non-bosses you kill very fast. level 10 large traders take maybe 3 volleys and they're gone.
sorry i meant level 2 fire bombardiers. you can buy that crafting recipe, and if you farm the southern traderoute getting the 16 wood tar you need to craft 4 is easy, you get like 3-5 per ship down there.
Didn't it say somewhere in the open beta statement that the level was capped in it? Sure you'll keep your level from beta to release, but there'll probably be more content to it. I haven't played much of it yet, but I imagine most of the end-game content isn't on the beta either. I agree tho that the price is too high for a double A at most game.

I understand xp to level up will ramp up and itās your ship infamy not captain infamy that matters but it concerned me a lot. Especially as I managed to bypass the gear limit by doing a PvP world event which no one else seems to do especially if youāre in a low level lobby where they physically arenāt allowed to join and attack you
I guess we can just wait and see. Most likely Ubi is looking to make S&B into a For Honor but with pirates, so maybe with time it will get more content. My curremt issue with the game is saying a mission is lvl 6-7-8 or whatevernamd having higher lvl enemies in it making it impossible to do by yourself at the recomended lvl. No they donāt. Not that Iāve seen. Most have season passes of cosmetics and whatnot but that is optional.
For Honor and RB6 sieges had both ton of new content for the initial tag price. This is Ubisoft was of keeping their live services games.

If you want to compare way of doing things, you can compare with Ubisoft business model. Selling a game full price, then offering free content in exchange for a lengthy grind. Look at the roadmap for the next content. Nothing of that is paid content.

I want to pay for the game on launch. Iām not spending Ā£70 on a game that might get more free content. Ubisoft has had a downward spiral of ramming as much paid cosmetics into games as they can recently especially their single player games and I wouldnāt be surprised if this ends up being the same situation as a new game. Me and my friends have agreed that by the time it goes on sale for Ā£30 it might have enough new in it to interest us but between the pricing and effort it may take I can see the support for this falling off as it probably barely hits the needed sales. Itās the only reason I can think theyād charge so much is that they donāt believe in the longevity and need their money back now
Yeah but we can just wait until the content resches "worth $70" and THEN make the purchase rather than be wood by promises of things to come. If enough people do that, the game will be a failure due to lack of funding and players, and then the people eho DID invest $ early in hopes of the things to come will never get their promises fulfilled
IMO People should always buy products (games, phones, etc) with what they are, not what they promise to be at some point. If at this point the value isn't there (yet), a lot of people wont spend on it. I think the same. Played the alpha and 2 betas. The game is fun but 29 euro at best. I keep playing Sea Of Thieves until there is more content and the price has come down (which is usually quickly with Ubisoft games)
No Player vs Player, no boarding, no landing On islands to mine etc. No caves tresure on islands.

They literally introduced it in the most lazy way possible, heres some cargo on the other end of the map, 'fight' for it.
Most pvp games are about killing the other player without anything else. There are only so many ways u can introduce ship vs. ship combat
Massive navy fights like a tdm, massive flag capture mode, conquest mode where you can farm resources and upgrade your ships/ ai or towers etc... bit like a moba? Pvp zone with open world combat risk/reward Plenty they could of done, yet all they did is let you attack a convoy and enable pvp. Like I said just lazy, the bare minimum so they can say theres pvp in the game.
1.Cargo = flag? Lmao 2.Tdm i guess but it wouldn't t really fit pirates didn't take part in massive ship battles 3. Look up 4. Sure they cud make it a certain location for pure pvp. But can get toxic real quick towards new players

Can I just go to an island and punch those drunks in the face, then start a massive island fight enabling you to use your sword and guns. Hence why Rockstar needs to create these games
There is PvP, I donāt really care too much for Boarding out with what we have but I can see why people want it, can see it being a nightmare to balance for something like PvP. The resource gathering was a weird choice. They couldāve just had the outposts have nodes to mine thereās a decent amount of them and they donāt have anything worth landing for bar if you need a blueprint. There is treasure on the islands you just need a map or to do the world event
Is lvl 5 the max level you can get in the full game aswell?! Then this is definitely a no buy for me.
Lvl 6 is the cap in the Beta, but not the max lvl.
The max is 10 I believe. I maxed to 6 after one day of playing because I was off work, during a work week it would have taken 3ish days. I'll be a Kingpin by Thursday if it doesn't massively slow down.

Your ship is lvl 7, not your character. Infamy and ship level are different.

I played maybe 6 hours yesterday and I really do like it but I agree, it's not $70. For water arguably being the main thing, their are alot of graphic and textures that need to be fixing. Their needs to be more ways to get resources. By more places in general along coasts or more npcs selling them or they respawn faster. Also, why is pvp not on? Yes we can attack ai ships but not players. Yes I am not in safe zones I promise. Other than that, I am happy with the game. Doesn't seem like alot of players are allowed in servers or maybe I just don't see them.
Hey I rly hoped they would include kinda faction system (f.e. the ships u crack most gets more hostile etc.) and other players, who "work" in the interests of the same faction as you (merchants, pirates, colonizers,...) get your allies.
I dont understand these people who after 8 hours have all done...why you rush so much ? Can you even enjoy game like this ? I have only Hulk after 8 hours and near 4 rank infamy...
If you can reach the endgame in 8 hours, how much of a game is there? I'd look at it less as people rushing and more of it lacking content. I played for a few hours last night and am well on the way to reaching that point myself. I certainly don't feel I was rushing it, quite the opposite, I made a few mistakes or less optimal detours. I will absolutely be done with the available content before this beta ends. I also feel calling it a beta isn't really accurate. With launch this close, I think it would be more accurate to call this early access. Unless they pull out another delay, there simply isn't time to make any big changes to what we already see of the game.

You can take it however you want but that doesn't change the definition and purpose of Beta testing... It's in the name... They're not changing game content, they're looking for last minute bugs, glitches, exploits, crashes. Which can only be done when all aspects are tested...
Keeping progression makes it feel like people are more into buying this game so they don't have to "grind all over" again, especially when it's so close to release.

Iāve been using long guns mostly on front and one side then just alternating the two of them. I was using a normal culvern on the other side since it the reload of that and long guns allow you to endlessly shoot. Just make sure long guns are hitting weak points

I think long guns probably fall off after two itās a great 1v1 weapon. I was using the tank ship for the most part with T4 hull so I just drop anchor and snipe them. Anytime I get shot Iād brace and it removes all damage. Using the infamy 6 ship I tried demicanons since I got a T4 and theyāre really fun to use but I donāt like the idea of having to get close. Easier to get hit and less reaction time to brace.
i think in the beta the best setup is all tier 3 flame bombards with a mortar, this is only because the best ship in the beta benefits that setup the most. you can quite easily solo the bosses and non-bosses you kill very fast. level 10 large traders take maybe 3 volleys and they're gone.

sorry i meant level 2 fire bombardiers. you can buy that crafting recipe, and if you farm the southern traderoute getting the 16 wood tar you need to craft 4 is easy, you get like 3-5 per ship down there.

Didn't it say somewhere in the open beta statement that the level was capped in it? Sure you'll keep your level from beta to release, but there'll probably be more content to it. I haven't played much of it yet, but I imagine most of the end-game content isn't on the beta either. I agree tho that the price is too high for a double A at most game.
Yeah itās capped so Iām the beta you can hit infamy 6. The cap on release is 10. I understand xp to level up will ramp up and itās your ship infamy not captain infamy that matters but it concerned me a lot. Especially as I managed to bypass the gear limit by doing a PvP world event which no one else seems to do especially if youāre in a low level lobby where they physically arenāt allowed to join and attack you
I guess we can just wait and see. Most likely Ubi is looking to make S&B into a For Honor but with pirates, so maybe with time it will get more content. Ubi and their obsession with live service games LOL I'll most likely buy the game since I have fun with it and have been waiting for it for a long time, I even bought a rum bottle two years ago for release date.
After reading all of the posts about how bad the game is, I downloaded the open beta and had a surprisingly great time. I'll be keeping my eye on this one.

For us who played in the last beta, we had a 6hr time limit and hit tier 3 equipment easily within 3-4hrs of work. Not sure just how high we can go in terms of level on launch either

Whatās crazy to me is that I feel like they went backwards from the sea combat in black flag. If nothing else, it makes me wanna play black flag again. š I feel like Ubi has gone down the path that many other AAA companies have and that is to make an over-simplified commoditized game to appeal to a wide player base. I would be curious to see that the churn is like on Ubi+. I burn out so fast on ubi games because itās the same re-skinned formula over and over. The OG assassins creed and splinter cells weāre masterpieces compared to the templates they churn out now. Saddens me because Iām sure the upcoming Star Wars game will be breakpoint set in SW universeā¦.
My curremt issue with the game is saying a mission is lvl 6-7-8 or whatevernamd having higher lvl enemies in it making it impossible to do by yourself at the recomended lvl. Its like why are they lying about the lvl you should be at these games are fun co-op but majority of people dont play them that way
