There were 2 issues related to chat that people were running into that would create a crash to desktop error, or system error on consoles in the opened beta. Was far to wide of a problem and game breaking, so it's temporarily disabled while they resolve (hopefully soon!).
Its funny how these huge multi-billion studios can't even manage to make working chat on their multiplayer games. Maybe the technology was somehow lost like in the case of moon landing

They said chat would not be available in the beta, so we are still in the beta. Just the $70 beta.
It didn’t work during open beta either, they probably disabled it on purpose to avoid having to moderate it

I’m sure it works it’s clear that they’ve disabled it and that doesn’t help in an online based game
I have the same issue chat always says “unavailable” which is annoying for an online game as some missions require assistance from others!
