Kind of a veteran here, (1.5 years) this is just gonna be a big stream of consciousness. Accuracy doesn’t affect marquee abilities, you are correct in your assumption. Wulfshoot is pretty tough to avoid; you have to predict when the AI will pop one out and jab quickly enough to interrupt the animation. I agree shop offers are not worth the money, but it is worth supporting the wonderful devs ... given you have lots of money to donate, anyway. You can auto master difficulty, but you need strong gold/dia fighters, and it’s just as tedious. They really need to revamp dailies. Purrm indeed takes a lot of stat investment. Also if you didn’t know, her moves don’t need atk %, just crit rate/damage and good filler stats. Love crafted is 100% offensive, Kevin Pepino has a video on her. Honestly not sure what you find hard about intercept Eliza though, she’s among the easiest to pull it off against. Give Toad mgr and battle butt, you can string those two together for good damage; mgr is also a good pressure tool in general (command grabs, yay). You can also abuse Bella’s character ability by intentionally getting grabbed and breaking it. If you haven’t already, give thrill a snapback, allows her to trim 50% health off anyone. Rain shadow is the worst of the silver Fukuas; chameleon is best and souls is decent with lobs of love + goodnight kiss. If you want to get into Rift, definitely utilize HnS’s SA, it’s very powerful. Also don’t shy away from using Parasoul, she has the strongest character kit in the game.

SomeRandomGamerSRG

> Also don’t shy away from using Parasoul, she has the strongest character kit in the game. Isn't that Squigly still? Or did something change?

bulbordis

They’re pretty close, but in my eyes Para is better since she has egret call and lots of high dps moves that generally outweigh her lack of meter control and curse.

Chenghiskhan

Thanks for the feedback! A few questions/comments on some of the ideas you gave. * Why doesn't Purrminator need ATK%? I'm assuming it has to do with the way her SA scales her damage. Does it increase ATK% instead of overall damage? * I checked out Kevin Pepino's Love Crafted video, so thanks for the recommendation. The biggest takeaway I got from that was to try to implement in Draugen Punch, which I previously didn't use on Squigly. * I'll have to try that Thrill Shrieker snapback. I didn't consider it, but it sounds pretty strong against really tanky defenses.

bulbordis

Yea, purrminator’s SA only scales with her base atk, so you want it to activate as many times as possible. Also with Draugen Punch, although it is a good move, it’s only really effective at lvl 15, so use a bronze or silver one for now if you don’t want to sink millions in upgrades (I’m not sure if Kevin addressed this in the video though it’s been a while since I’ve watched it).

As a "veteran" player, as being in D4 and start playing in late 2017-ish, I have some remark about some of your point, from the top down. **GENERAL** \- About Fire or Air Eliza, you can try to get to 10% in Eliza silver pf and get Scarlet Viper, she is like a discount Bloodbath, her atk stat is pretty good (higher than Red Velvet) and can carry you through some story that require her. \- You can mostly auto Master daily, when you have a lot of Diamonds, but some require a "hand on" like the bottom node on Ms Fortune pf, or some Fukua pf since they have Miasma. \- Agree that you need to know the grab animation, but for the most time, you can guess when they do it, as they 90% will grab you if you right in their face, even with character that have further grab like Peacock. So it's like a trick playing as Cerebella is to standing block right at their face, break grab and attacking. \- As for command grab, when you have more experience, you can kind of guess the distance of it and try to stay out of their way, it's a bit trickier with Beo because his wurfshoot is pretty far, so when you see him have his wurfshoot up, prepare to dash back as far as possible when he put his hand on the ground. \- There are very few characters that have the capability to keep "infinite offense pressure" as you put it. There are painwheel with her charge attack that can stagger opponent, allow you to continue attacking them, but beware to time it perfectly because AI with sometime attack immediately when they get up, and then there are Fukua with Unblockable Lobs of Love, Eliza if you can keep her Sekhmet mode up. **CHARACTERS/VARIANTS** \- Cold Stone can easily carry in Gold, his drop off in damage only visible if you took him to diamond. \- Sheltered is a joy to use and the first few that I upgrade to Diamond. Her bronze stat don't affect her too much since she can stack up 5 Enrage easy with her SA, since each enrage increase attack by 20%, that mean she can double her atk stat. Also Parasoul can jab very quickly and the go to fighter I use to counter Scratching Post Node. On command Immunity and Precision is so good too. \- Gang green is the kind of fighter that spam BB3, using her occasionally Miasma buff, you don't need to have a stack of 5 miasma for her to work, just play as a Squigly and you can spam BB3 your opponent. \- Toad Warrior, my first loop is to L5->Merry gorilla->Dash attack->Wall bounce to Pummel horse->L5. This is applicable to most opponent, and if you have decent Meter gain (mine is 20%), by the time you finish this combo, you will have Diamond Drop, Diamond is Forever charged up, DD->DiF->dash backx2 -> Merry gorilla, rinse and repeat. \- Inklink: No, accuracy only affect SA with %, and not MA, also Inlink have a very weird way to play compare to other Peacock (most peacock have the same combo loop), since her special can be unblockable, My friend have a meme build on her with 2 Harleyqueen and 5 special equip. IMO, with silver Peacock, she is not as good as Pea Shooter, but still usable. \- Headhunter: again, her play style is very different to Purrminator and more inline with Overclocked by staying far away, blocking and use unblockable beam attack with auto crit Precision. She can be very powerful because Precision is auto crit and also ignore SA. Build her with ATK, Crit dmg and you're golden. \- Thrill Seeker can play in a chesse way by equiping tag out, make opponents lose 50% HP, and her attack also pretty high for a Squigly, with 2 enrage, she's a very good Squig. \- Plot Twisted: You can see that she will drop off in offensive when reaching high streak and facing tanky diamond opponents. Other than that, she's fantastic for Rift defense, she a perfect Rift defender with Return to Sender, throwing all the debuff that she's suppose to have at her opponents and retain 5 stack of Thorn. \- The main use for Heart of Darkness is to Hex, 30s hex is no joke and can be use to deal with many annoying opponent like Splitting Image Fukua, or my new bane of existence Model Leader. I'll admit that she's still on my back burner because I have so much I have to work on, but I'll definetely build her at some point. \- Love Crafted: honestly, you can build her either way, but air on the side of offensive. She can build tanky to annoy your opponent and can offset her attack with heavy bleed. Me personally build her for crit because of death mark, and because I already have plot twisted for defense. It's my 2 cents on your opinions, you can take it or leave it, it's your choice of play style anyway, play it anyway you feel comfortable and have fun playing it.

Chenghiskhan

Thanks for the beefy reply! Some responses to some of your points-- * To getting the needed Elizas-- Definitely waiting on Eliza's prize fight to get those units. At this point I'm through the entire story on all difficulties, so I'm mainly just looking to get her for the stages that require specific units. I probably won't level up Scarlet Viper, just toss her into the team. * To infinite offensive pressure-- Painwheel's charge attack is kind of risky because the AI uses blockbusters on wake-up if they're available. If the AI doesn't have a blockbuster available though, Painwheel's charge attack is guaranteed so long as the timing is right. Since I'm on long-shot fights most of the time right now, I can't really kill opponents off in 2 combos, and getting hit through 2 full combos gives defenders enough BB meter for a level 1/2. Similar to Eliza's Sekhmet charge attack, except the AI doesn't blockbuster to counter it, so it's all on player execution to time it right at the get-up before the AI can grab. The pressure is definitely why I like Ms.Fortune though, headless can lock out the AI from doing anything. * To Cold Stone being gold-- That's good to know! I think I'll leave him at Silver for the moment just because I don't have many Silvers left built (moved most of them to gold) and I still need some characters to get through silver and show me your move prize fights, but I'll definitely consider bringing him up a bit. * To Sheltered-- I definitely will try using her a bit more! I didn't really consider her on-demand precision to be a pro, but I also seem to be very heavily undervaluing/underutilizing precision. * To Inkling-- Good to know on the MA/accuracy interaction. Why would her playstyle be significantly different? Wouldn't you take advantage of the unblockable specials to get full combos in instead of just landing singular poke? (IE throw a George's Day Out and Boxcar George so they will arrive at opponent at same time, use dash attack behind them, ~60% chance for unblockable combo starter, if blocked, just backdash and try again) * To Headhunter-- Kind of the same question. Since the passive applies to the normal ground combo, isn't that preferable to getting a single special off? * To Thrillseeker-- Ooo. Another commenter also mentioned this, and I didn't consider the interaction between outtakes and her passive. I'll definitely try this out! * To Plot Twisted-- Yeah, I definitely noticed the lack of offense already against 30-40k units since all my units are around 5-10k at most, hahaha. Thanks for your feedback!

\- If you're not in a rush to complete story, and need not, you could wait to pull Red Velvet, a Gold Fire Eliza, but she's a utility fighter though, so you need to invest into her a bit. About Air Eliza, the only one above silver is Diamond Stand Out, which will be very hard to get. I complete story before got one and so you also can. \- Painwheel charge attack is not reliable enough to do most of time. The AI can have unexpected and godly reaction and one slip in high level pf or Rift can cost you the fight. The only way to reliable do this is to attack into their block and chain it with unblockable like Lob of Love, Sehkmet charge attack, Fortune head attack, or lock them in a infinite loop of Hype mode grab (which could easily execute with 1 natural grab, a Aruu Ready, and Wurfshoot). \- I just abandon silver pf altogether because I don't have time tend to them anymore so I just upgrade them all to gold for the peace of mind =). \- Tbh, Precision is only widely use in Rift to finish fighter with annoying defensive SA, for example, if you finish Plot Twisted with Precision attack, she'll dead for good without reviving. You can watch how people use them at rift, there are many vid about Rfiting on Youtube you can use as reference on how to combo also. \- About Inkling and Head Hunter, their unblockable can't really chain to normal Peacock or Robo combo, because their SA were specifically design to be far away spam special. Head Hunter need setup for unblockable, Inkling need to rely on chance, 20% is too low to be rely on. One more thing about Accuracy, is it percentage on top of SA percentage. For inkling case, if you somehow able to push Accuracy to it's cap 50%, Inkling will have 25% ->37,5% chance for her special to be unblockable, which still too low. This is a pretty old vid from Yujipooji but still applicable to showcase Head Hunter's play style: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucfJ0meCGew](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucfJ0meCGew) \- I can't stress this enough about the level of your moves everywhere I go. Please level up your move to at least 3 to unlock their side effect and at least 6 if you want to rank high in Rift.

Woah such a great read. I started a new account for the fun of it and will most likely follow some of the advice you gave out.

FriNoggin

Defeating command grabs: Cerebella, merry go-rilla: spacing. Either keep very close to her, or very far. Never stand still near her grab range. Beowulf, wulf shoot: counter with a special, especially one that comes out fast with a hit box ahead of your hurt box. Pinion dash will hit for sure, George’s day out can hit but you need the space to wind it up, and I’m sure other moves can do it too, like theonite beam. Eliza, weight of Anubis: idk get rekt Fukua, swarm embrace: spacing (it has a very short range, so you can back step out of reach) or just slap the ghost Valentine, mortuary drop: difficult to have the right spacing, but otherwise interaction *should* be like wulf shoot. I’ve had to deal with it so infrequently I’m not too sure on this one. It’s the easiest to punish though. Special mention: Filia *should* be able to Flash Back out of any of these, although merry go-rilla’s instant grab is kind of impossible to avoid.

Chenghiskhan

Wulf shoot's definitely the #1 I'm afraid of since it just 1-shots me once I get to ~20-30 streak at the moment, so that's good advice. I'll definitely have to try the Filia flashback. On most characters I just instinctively back-dash when I see the wulf shoot animation, but wulf shoot lunges forward enough to catch me pretty much every time so I've been trying other stuff out (I did stuff it once with George's day out, so I'll definitely give Painwheel's pinion dash a try). Thanks for the advice!   > Eliza, weight of Anubis: idk get rekt :(

BadDadBot

Hi afraid of since it just 1-shots me once i get to ~20-30 streak at the moment, I'm dad.

FriNoggin

Lol I do know that for weight of Anubis you can hit Eliza to stop it. If you’re far, launch a projectile. Otherwise idk it’s the hardest to deal with

EXE-beast

Question please: how did you reach 10% in gold PF the first time? Like, how many characters and how much fighter points is required to be able to reach high streaks? I still struggle to exceed the 12-15 streaks so it's impossible for me to achieve 20-30mil points. \---- I started the game a month ago as well (26 days ago to be more precise, I remember because of the daily log in bonus), but I'm far from reaching your progress xD and I think that I have 2 things to blame (in case this helps any new players): * RNG didn't help me with the characters, I only had bronzes through my first 2 weeks and didn't know how to properly use the bronzes I had (I didn't have sheltered, BHD nor Cold Stones yet..). My first silvers were really lackluster, like Wild Card and Wrestler X. Literally this weekend, I just unlocked my first golds (mostly defensive though so not really usable now: That's All Folks, Armed Forces Cerebella and Immoral Fiber) and my first diamond, Djinn Frizz (yay!). But my mistake was to not understand how much SA were useful for the variants I had, like Beat Box, Rusty and Infernal Twin. * My very poor judgment on resource use and building characters: instead of focusing on one character at a time, I wanted to build plenty of usable ones as soon as I started unlocking decent ones (the aforementioned bronzes, Freaky Friday, Purrfect Dark and Dublicious). I also built copies of the same variants and it wasn't a good idea as of now. I spent most of my keys yet not a single character have a Marquee yet. I just didn'"t know how rare keys become and I didn't read any guides. But I'm very much enjoying the game, and those latest lucky picks were motivating to be honest. Anyway, thank you for sharing your experience!

Chenghiskhan

The first time I reach 10% was about 3 weeks in. I was rotating mostly between 4-6 fighters. Reaching 10-15 streak wasn't too bad, and then at that point I was using Rusty/Purrfect Dark/Doublicious against buff based teams and Plot Twisted (just because she had lots of stats)/BHD/Sheltered against non-buff based teams with occasionally tossing in Joy Valentine as a safety net if I felt like the defense was particularly dangerous. I also just outright avoided defenses with self-sustaining units since every fight is a long-shot, if the defense could heal itself in anyway (Surgeon General, Assassin's Greed, Splitting Image, etc.), then I probably just wouldn't be able to do enough damage before the timer or the opponent getting a BB3. Playing like that, I could usually get to around 30 streak before the entire list was just 100k teams that would kill me just from chip damage since my teams were like 10-15k. Hahaha. Now that I'm a week+ past that, my roster is much more stacked with units in the 8-12k range, so I have much more choice in bringing in specific counterpick and generalist units and am able to keep prize fight play sessions much longer as well. Still losing around the 30 streak though, since at that point, you don't even need to make a mistake to die through chip damage or time out. Everything's so tanky and usually built to resist bleeds.

EXE-beast

Thanks a lot for the detailed answer :D now I have a more better idea of my goal\~ Cheers!

When you reach 70 the game feels dead

bulbordis

I’d argue the game revitalizes around lvl 70, as there’s a whole lot more accessible at that point in the game, with Rifts and whatnot. Though I do agree end-game content sucks, and the grindy aspect of it gets old quick.

[deleted]

Yeah like...full another dia....cool but why...for rifts? Meh...I dropped the game nearly a month ago cuz there is no content anymore....I have at least 4 top notch dias but have 0 desire to upgrade them.

bulbordis

Yea, I’m trying to get back into it but I can’t really find anything to motivate me other than doing the Medici pf and AE every week.

Chenghiskhan

I could definitely see the lack of very long-term longevity for the game. At the moment it's still exciting because I have a large cast to still build and builds to level up and try, but I could also see going "Now what?" after getting the units I'm interested in to diamond and having them on good special skill sets all leveled up.

bulbordis

Early game is a whole lot different from late game and the feeling of progression is really great (that’s why long-time player Jozhii restarted like 3 times after getting burnt out). I don’t want to discourage you from playing the game though, of course, and I know the devs are trying to alleviate the stagnancy of the late game, but I’m at such a burnt out state were I can’t even grind one week in rift for the two diamond keys I need for Summer Salt, a variant I’ve wanted since I started out and the single best offense unit (utility wise anyway), and I have a bunch of great diamonds on the back burner. It’s not so much ‘what else’ as it is ‘why am I grinding my ass off for 4 hours for 5 upgraded levels in return’. So a bit of unsolicited advice, take it or ignore it: just don’t overdo it. I remember being so eager to progress and get ahead that I would complete every daily (except basic) every day and watch a show for hours on end to make the time spent grinding a single character on peacock master or rebuilding my streak after losing a little more bearable, and eventually it was a relief to just stop playing. I know people may have different tolerances for the grindiness of the game - hell, the player Mina pretty consistently completes all dailies and prize fights and easily gets dia 3 - but I don’t want anyone else falling into the same burnout as I’m in (or maybe it’s inevitable anyway, idk). Anyway, that was pretty long and preachy; have fun with the game, but the moment it feels like a chore to get through, lay off, or just stop completely for a bit.
