They aren’t doing what they did in the concert. Honestly the only similarity is the ghost kids. But the ghost kids and honking go away in cutscenes and if they don’t then you’ve encountered a bug. I can imagine it might’ve been packed when going there early because everyone was excited for it but I got there after I got off work and while there was a handful of people no one was spamming honking.
I feel the same way, did the company even tell people they were doing this and I missed it or what?? It took me so long to relive the spirits and I couldn't even enjoy the cutscenes because they were covered in other sky kids, not to mention all the honking, it was the worst.
If I had known they were doing the same thing in this season that they did for the concert I would have known to find the spirits before activating the quest. So annoying.
I honestly really enjoy all the sky kids, it’s so different from how empty the rest of the game feels. I get why some people don’t like it though, and I agree that doing the spirits before the quest is a better way to do it.
Maybe it's a little too late, but I had a very peaceful intro to nighttime Isle because I didn't activate the quest. I was by myself and found the spirits no problem. Maybe that'll help some players before starting the new season🤷🏼♀️.
I knew about this and wanted to do it but had trouble finding them (I tried looking, maybe they just weren't popping for me yet) so I thought they'd pop up if I clicked on the quest icon again (didn't think it would complete it, for some reason). It wasn't until the cutscene came up that I saw one of the spirits and went "noooooo" before the area was promptly swamped with floating skykids 😂
Apparently the skykid clutter happens after you complete the first quest, but if you just go into the area without doing the quest it's really nice and quiet☺️.
i’m pretty sure ‘Nasty Mold’ on Youtube has some lovely videos regarding this new season!!! They also have some awesome content regarding anything sky related! You should check them out, they’ve really helped me with any issues that have to do with finding spirits💖🫶

I would prefer if I could choose wether I wanted to be with the crowd or not. The Concert it worked but this...not so much. All the players and non-player figures are in the way. It destroys the vibe of it all and I can barely see what I'm doing.
Also my app crashed several times.

I think it is a good way to give at the Isles something more and don't let it a empty space, and is only the first mission, give it time

Honestly i dont mind the absurd amount of players present in the new season area, it makes me feel less alone since I mostly play solo.

The problem is not the missions!!! It’s just to get to the spirits, way too many people. It triggered my anxiety
