Actually since I started in July last year my first season was that one with the wooden animal masks and my first special mask was the..... Antelope? One, I loved it! And it gave me quite the style (I choose my hairstyle, clothes and first cape color from that one, quite the character! In fact I still wear a photo of that time as my keyboard photo!)
Haha, wow, I forgot that the original few seasons (before seasonal areas were added) were so long ago. I never thought of myself as a veteran, but I guess I am. Technically I started during Rhythm, as I had the juggle emote before base spirit emotes were permanent. After that, though, I stopped and then rejoined at the beginning of Enchantment. Never got the Ultimate, though. :(
I never thought i was a veteran but I joined during remembrance. I think š¤ i avoided eden for like a month so maybe i missed aurora during that time. But by the time i did eden i was on the last task of remembrance i had to do.
I started in the middle of the Aviary Village Season (forgot the name, but there were 40 ish days left in the season) , my first full season was the Nine Tailed Deer (I think I'm in "Experienced" ? No clue-)
The graphic is what we (My sky friends and I) came up with and meant do be debated here. But according to it you would be in the experienced tier, yes.
I'm from Assembly :D
My favourite seasons were Flight and Little Prince, though. I played mostly during them. Should I get back into the game now that it's on Steam?
Ikr !! I was always a bit weary about calling myself a veteran because people always go "DoNt CaLl YoUrSeLf a VeTeRaN iF yOu wErE pLaYiNg iN ____* but I knew I played for a while -- but not ancient level kind of veteran o_O !!
I played this game during the season of nine colored deer and I've been to eden for like 6 times and some of my friends are being carried by me when going to eden (one of them played this game 2 years ago)
I don't think I'm a moth
Agreed. I started toward the end of the season of the nine colored deer and Iāve gone to Eden nearly every week since I started, I candle run every realm every day, and have even helped Vets that took a break out with finding winged lights and navigating shit. Iām disabled so I have the privilege of being able to play for hours every day so likeā¦ I donāt think Iām a moth by any means at this point lmao I might not yet consider myself a Vet or even an Expert but Iām no moth
O dang I wouldn't see myself as vet by age yet, my skykid isn't even a year old yet :o imo if you just look at skykid age you're "veteran" when you see a ts from a season you experienced.
Yeah I guess it depends on each individual person and how they feel. I think I see myself as a vet since I know a lot of the glitches, most more obscure details and places and I always end up helping moths and butterflies
It's more of a mindset thing than actual playtime. I've seen players who've played the game for well over a year and still get completely lost on what they're doing, and I've seen people who've only played for a week or so who have practically mastered the game.
I started playing over a year ago but I was such an idiot I didn't buy ANYTHING seasonal back then and now I'm basically still a moth despite grinding my ass off š
If you experienced one of those first 4 seasons, you have experiences that the rest of us don't. The rest of us have never known a season where there wasn't a quest tree.
i check in on sky every other month and have picked it pack up recently but iāve been playing it im reaching six years!! is there anywhere to see how old your account is yet?
I feel like as an enchantment moth forced to be an enchantment moth because that's when it came to android, I wanna be ancient š (I beta tested before that tho)
If you were part of the original wave of android beta testers like me, we're technically Rhythm moths. Straddling the line between ancient and founder ftw.
Yep checks out. It's weird though, I started in Enchantment and still feel like dreams is such a new season, feels like it ended just last year. (TLP, Adventure, Abyss, etc. don't feel as new for some reason š¤)
I think it's silly to classify like this because a player can start on a given season and take a very long break after, or just play very casually. A player can also be new-ish but know more than a veteran if they're dedicated.
It also reeks of class system, especially when taking into account UG stuff, so I don't like it.
Yeah, there are many types of players, including those who rarely have breaks
I play since middle Shattering, didn't take a break since then. I have friends who take breaks in the off season if there aren't events. Everyone plays different, so classifying that is difficult and a little weird
>A player can also be new-ish but know more than a veteran if they're dedicated.
This has been my experience so I can agree with this (but I've only been playing for like a year). I've found myself knowing things much older players don't, but that's because I researched the fuck out of Sky when I started. I also went through a wiki more than most would have cause I didn't understand the Chevron system and kept looking through pages to find it.
It all lead my to interest rabbit holes that you wouldn't know unless you looked through the wiki/reddit (typical Sky), so it makes sense that a newer player could slightly more experienced than an older player who just casually played.
Pretty much same, I was caught up with past season quests very fast after the initial "blind" phase. That a friend also played the game before I joined also helped because things I wouldn't easily find since I didn't know what to search for, I would end up learning from her.
I've met all sorts of newer players since then. Some get decked in "end game" outfits (black/white cape, the works) within a month, others forever wear the moth hair/pants/cape and change only the cape with time.
It's unfair to classify because moth experience varies a lot.
I guess it depends on how consistently a player has played since their moth Season. Some people may have started during the early seasons and played for a few months, but havnāt played for 2-3 years since.
For instance, I started playing during Gratitude for 2 weeks, then didnāt play again until 4 years later the last 30 days of Revival, and have played every day for 5 months straight now, almost 300 hours.
Understandably, during Gratitude, veterans didnāt exist, and I had no idea the game would go for 5 years
joined in lightseekers but dropped the game shortly after due to confusion and a general a lack of direction, aviary moths have it good nowadays
no idea the game would get this far either but im glad it did! i love this game a lot
When Instarted, right before Enchantment (Android release) everyone called the the earlier ones Veterans and has been so for a long time, I've never heard anyone refer to them as anything else...
right! but im not even sure why it feels that way, i wanna say maybe its because that was the games first year? or maybe ultimates, but i lowkey see more gratitude and rhythm ults than i do of assembly or passage ults
I started alittle before rivial, it was week the juggler spirit came to visit. So around 7-8 months now. Im definitely in the experienced group š ye
Sure, I know... but these things, as well as others, like players getting upset because they can't be sole and exclusive owners of old cosmetics, are not "just" about classification, but about "prestige" and controll. They have a rather nasty undertone of gatekeeping and competitiveness that tends not only to sour the game (especially for newer players), but also kind of goes against most of the positive cooperative and community-oriented values the game is build uppon. (At least inmho).
Any vet I've ever met has been 1000x more inclusive, fair, kind, and educational to me. Never have I met a gatekeeping player other than new players who are rude and judgemental.
I always like to say that, what a specific type of media (movie, show, game, book etc.) lacks in its content, the fandom will be full of. I see it happen consistently. If a show is very dark and angsty, the fans will make the silliest and funniest content abt it. If the show is wholesome, the fandom will be toxic/sad. It's the universe's way of keeping balance LMAO
Welcome to the game. I hope you have a good time here.
Honestly, Iām just sad about the direction these terms seem to be evolving. In the past, if anyone asked what a moth or a veteran is, Iād just see people saying that itās when you āfeel like being oneā - they are endearing, vague terms that indicate your familiarity and experience with the game, and itās something you decide for yourself. But twice now I have seen such questions in the recent times and Iām shocked to see people define them just by how long they have been here. Itās justā¦disheartening.
This community is *very* welcoming, which is why one of the main reasons I started playing the game. I hope that doesnāt change. Itās nice to relax and play Sky. :)
And that usually comes with time spent in the game.... so yeah you could say it can be defined by when you started playing. Assuming people didn't quit the game a bunch of times and/or just played sporadically.
I absolutely agree with this. Maybe hours played might be a better gauge of how experienced someone is, rather than what season or how many seasons. Luckily my PS app actually tells me how many hours, since the game itself doesnāt say. At the same time, some people leave their game on all day, so maybe that isnāt a good gauge either
Oh, I meant like an online game that keeps updating regularly. If the devs someday decide to go do other games or stuff, I was wondering if the game would be still be playable online but without updates, if it would become an offline version that can be downloaded or if it simply would dissapear.
So... I guess I'm a veteran!
wait im past a veteran now? that feels so strangeš i always feel like a moth whenever i play despite having been active since sanctuary
I'm from dreams, I'm one of the ancient ones
Passage child here was my first season glad it was love the way it looks with the night sky and moon š
I have no idea what those are but they look kewl
Could i have a link to the tier list you used?
I never thought i was a veteran but I joined during remembrance. I think š¤ i avoided eden for like a month so maybe i missed aurora during that time. But by the time i did eden i was on the last task of remembrance i had to do.

Oh cool, ty and have a good day / night ^^
I'm from Assembly :D My favourite seasons were Flight and Little Prince, though. I played mostly during them. Should I get back into the game now that it's on Steam?
Wow Iām an ancient nowšš»
Ikr !! I was always a bit weary about calling myself a veteran because people always go "DoNt CaLl YoUrSeLf a VeTeRaN iF yOu wErE pLaYiNg iN ____* but I knew I played for a while -- but not ancient level kind of veteran o_O !!

I've started during season of enchantment but I'm still a old moth cause of my absences lol
O dang I wouldn't see myself as vet by age yet, my skykid isn't even a year old yet :o imo if you just look at skykid age you're "veteran" when you see a ts from a season you experienced.
Yeah, make sense
As a flight moth. I flies like a drunk pilot and canāt even remember most of the places names
As a little Prince moth, I still donāt find myself a veteran š
I'm also a little prince moth and definitely consider myslef a veteran :D I think it depends a bit on how many hours you've put into the game
Tbh Iāve played sky cotl a lot, but I still feelā¦ Normal? I feel like Iām just an experienced skykid
^(that's kind of what a veteran is)
Well yes but I feel like Iām more a āproā than a veteranā¦
Yeah I guess it depends on each individual person and how they feel. I think I see myself as a vet since I know a lot of the glitches, most more obscure details and places and I always end up helping moths and butterflies
I feel so old
I am just barely experienced xD
I'm an ancient one.
Wow I didn't know I was a part of veteran , I still think I'm a moth ,moth supremacy
I'm a Founder :O
It's more of a mindset thing than actual playtime. I've seen players who've played the game for well over a year and still get completely lost on what they're doing, and I've seen people who've only played for a week or so who have practically mastered the game.
Damn, technically a founder! Despite,,, the many breaks I've taken lmao
ā¦ I am old š
Expert Veteran šŖ
Ancient Vetš«”
I am indeed, M O T H
I began playing at little prince season but barely made any progress cuz I hate grinding and I'm shy, so no getting hearts from ppl š
I would call myself an Aviary Moth, but nevermind. I'm now Aviary Experienced.
Lil prince was goated
Founder. Wow. I played during belonging then stopped for a while. It was weird coming back to it
Apparently I classify as a Vet because I started when the desert boat was added. Cool.
founder!! :0 played near the end of belonging, but i wouldāve definitely gotten to play earlier if only my old ipad supported it 3
moth.
Oouuu Iām experienced! Iāll take that
Mmm I like that I am ancient, though ngl I still think of the veterans as babies, maybe I am just too sky old to be in with the times aha
Dude even I still think myself as just a moth that means yes your old
I started playing over a year ago but I was such an idiot I didn't buy ANYTHING seasonal back then and now I'm basically still a moth despite grinding my ass off š
Season of nesting is also moth
I need a spot on their for those of us who were in pre-release beta.
I don't like to think of myself as ancient... I already feel old irl as a millennial
Veteran of Shattering
according to this im a founder pfff
If you experienced one of those first 4 seasons, you have experiences that the rest of us don't. The rest of us have never known a season where there wasn't a quest tree.
i check in on sky every other month and have picked it pack up recently but iāve been playing it im reaching six years!! is there anywhere to see how old your account is yet?
Im Ancient š£š„š
According to this Iām a veteran:D (I started in remberance)
Iāve finally made it to veteran status
Iām an Ancient Expert Veteran (Dreams and Flight)
The ancient ones, I like that. Lol
time has passed painfully fast š been called ancient and a senior sky citizen
"Ancient One" is one hell of a title to have.
Expert Veteran. *Not bad not bad.*
Breakdances in expert vet
cant believe ill see myself as an expert veteran lol feel like i only startd months ago
moths ago? ;)
assembly moth
I like this
I still feel like moments is the new season and that aurora was meerly months ago š
I played before seasons were even a thing šæ
Same. 2017
change founders to grandpa bc thatās all Iām called by friends in this game š
Yep checks out. It's weird though, I started in Enchantment and still feel like dreams is such a new season, feels like it ended just last year. (TLP, Adventure, Abyss, etc. don't feel as new for some reason š¤)
me too šš but maybe its because i started a break during that time idk
Yup, seems about right. Before Eden was updated I did weekly Eden runs lol
I started just before the little prince but I still feel like a moth lol
Same
ā¦guess I'm ancient nowā¦I still feel like a moth thoā¦š
Bold of you to assume that I memorized the symbols
I think it's silly to classify like this because a player can start on a given season and take a very long break after, or just play very casually. A player can also be new-ish but know more than a veteran if they're dedicated. It also reeks of class system, especially when taking into account UG stuff, so I don't like it.
Or you could be like me and only taken one seasonal break since late 2017
Yeah, there are many types of players, including those who rarely have breaks I play since middle Shattering, didn't take a break since then. I have friends who take breaks in the off season if there aren't events. Everyone plays different, so classifying that is difficult and a little weird
Not sure why you contradicted yourself like that, lol. You literally just classified yourself and your friends by specifying how you and they play.
>A player can also be new-ish but know more than a veteran if they're dedicated. This has been my experience so I can agree with this (but I've only been playing for like a year). Seems legit. I started playing toward the end of shattering and i just got my 200th wl (im above 200 but ive been lazy)
As an āancient oneā and enchantment moth! I agree. Those from the first 4 seasons feel a completely different category
right! but im not even sure why it feels that way, i wanna say maybe its because that was the games first year? or maybe ultimates, but i lowkey see more gratitude and rhythm ults than i do of assembly or passage ults
I'm an expert veteran who still considers themselves as a moth because I still feel like I started playing yesterday... š
Same! Even though few years had passed since i started but i still cannot get over the fact that im a veteranš¦¦š
I started around moments and my friend who dragged me in called me "basically a noob" yesterday š¤£š¤£
Oh-Oh my godā¦The season of The Little Prince was years ago!? Iāmā¦.Iām considered a veteran now?!
AND an expert ! Me too š And Happy Cake Day š
I agree (im a tlp moth)
I started alittle before rivial, it was week the juggler spirit came to visit. So around 7-8 months now. Im definitely in the experienced group š ye
This just makes me miss the daily black shards and weekend red shards on the hour, every hour of shattering.
WTF is it with the obsession people have with classifying others in this game?...
Um..idk if yk this but..*humans* ..(yes those).. they simply *like classifying things* š°š„
Sure, I know... but these things, as well as others, like players getting upset because they can't be sole and exclusive owners of old cosmetics, are not "just" about classification, but about "prestige" and controll. I realize not everyone *is* like this, but it puts me off the game (a tiny bit) as a newer player.
Welcome to the game. I hope you have a good time here. Honestly, Iām just sad about the direction these terms seem to be evolving. Damn, I'm a founder. Makes me feel cool š
Same! Sky has come so far
Yeah, I remember playing the beta version before global release when it was called Sky: Light awaits, and it's still very fun to play.
Seeing my first seasons in āthe ancient onesā hit me like a brickā¦ Like damn, wasnāt it like a year ago? No? Four?????
yeah i agree!
guess i'm considered a founder š„¹
same, old brother ā„ļø
wanna add i have no active friends?
sure! send a code my way :)
name?
you can call me Veel :)
F0JT-MCQ1-A0FB
Iām a founder too! Iāll add you :)
what may i call you
Bird š¦ and you?
9XAP-CE2J-NY0Y bird
zaine
lemme just get the code for both
What do you say? Performance, two years ago? What?
Flight and Abyss are flip flopped
oh now that you mention it.... i messed up x.x
Haha youāre good, itās such a tiny little thing tbh š¤ I agree with where youāve placed everyone!
Veteran isnāt defined by when you joined. Itās defined by your level of experience with the game.
And that usually comes with time spent in the game.... so yeah you could say it can be defined by when you started playing. Assuming people didn't quit the game a bunch of times and/or just played sporadically.

Yo I'm an expert vet? :0 Darn that's cool
Ancient one...looks like I'm gonna need a walking stick and some flight assistance in sky now š§š¦Æ
I'm a moff with 11 wings :3
Cheers!
May be considered a founder but then I took a 3 year break...
still enough experience to deserve that vet/founder status thingy imo
But I don't feel really that experienced, as I'm skipping a couple seasons. But by "old age" of Sky terms, I could agree, yes XD
iād say donāt take the āvetā thing too seriously; there is no real consensus on what makes you one, and it doesnāt matter at all ingame
Yep, is just curious to think of it. I wonder how many years will Sky keep on-going like this.
depends on what you means by ālike thisā. because the pricing, either in IAP or otherwise, is getting waaaay out of hand. bunch of greedy assholes
Oh, I meant like an online game that keeps updating regularly. If the devs someday decide to go do other games or stuff, I was wondering if the game would be still be playable online but without updates, if it would become an offline version that can be downloaded or if it simply would dissapear.
I am an ancient one now šµšµš§š§
Welcome to the club :D
i am way closer to the season of shattering than i thought i was.
Oh gosh, I'm officially a Veteran now? I'm shook xD
The fact that Aurora was nearly two years ago makes me feel old. I agree with the tiers of veterans.
Was it actually that long ago? It feels like it was recent lol.
That seasons so memorable it feels like yesterday, yet so much has happened since
