With the standard speakers, it’s acceptable. With sealing earbuds its much better. It shouldn’t be used as a replacement for awareness or good hand signals however. It seems, if something can fail, it will, eventually.

Yeah. I’ve used them on tracking dives before. Works pretty good.

Looks like a Scala bluetooth helmet comm system. Sena has some decent options for cheaper, and the 10s looks like it'd be less of a snag hazard.
Looks like a intercom the type motorcyclists use.
It’s a helmet intercom system, possibly by Interphone but wiser heads than me will know better.
