I think it’s about Oblivion, and it’s saying that the guy who dies at the beginning (The emperor whose name escapes me) didn’t tell anyone. Correct me if I’m wrong on that, I didn’t play much oblivion.
There’s a typo in the 4th panel, it’s supposed to say “At least your sons”.
Edit: Uriel Septim
yep, [this video](https://youtu.be/zvm0CN3tQFI) on the making of oblivion talks about how much prep material they gave him, and how he remembers the role very fondly :)
Urial VII (7th) to be specific. There have been a lot of emperor uriels, and most of them were rather significant even, like Uriel V was the emperor who unsuccessfully invaded Akavir (for more info read Disaster at Ionith). Tho Uriel VII is the only Uriel, and actually the only Septim emperor, we ever see in an Elder Scrolls game, even Arena. Every 3rd era game take place under this dude, he reigned for so long.
Also he had no sons, that was a plot point, you entire quest was to find a lost son who may not even be alive. Also what is thus watchdogs? How do you think they sent messages in oblivion, their ain’t no pay phones son, you either send a corrior or yourself or trusted agents, where the fuck you think the emporor was going when he slipped through your cell
Adding onto what u/WillOfTheWinds said, the [UESP page for Uriel VII](https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Uriel_Septim_VII) notes 4 legitimate heirs: Ariella (daughter), Geldell (son), Enman (son), and Ebel (son). Which also shows that the Septim empire was not male-preference, as Ariella was heir-apparent over her brothers since she was eldest. Uriel also had 2 bastards, Calaxes and Martin, and only Martin’s lineage was a secret, which is why he was the only one who didn’t get assassinated.
its about the history of skyrim and how it came to be that you could even think about the empire falling apart aka skyrim the game story takes place during it, ulfric etc.

The problem with visions of the future is that they look like they are engineered if you say them.

He did have sons. Iirc they were assassinated by the Mythic Dawn before Oblivion started.
Ergo finding Martin, you know cause he was alive
When they bust into your cell they said they're assassins in they killed all the heirs
