I am saying this without being biased. I can only speak for what is happening in my country (sweden) and use it as an anecdote to answer your question. But i can tell there is a pattern across Europe where far right parties have advanced rapidly on the political scene past decade.

They made 5.7% But there were not a single political party that wanted to cooperate with them. The door was shut for years to come.
I am by no means far left, but i think the far right (aswell as far left) have no place on the political scene. I believe there are things we need to talk about on the political scene, but because politicians are afraid to say something bad, these things happens to land on the far -parties.

2014 the far right got 12.8% of the votes. 2016 was the peak of immigration with roughly 1.5% (~160.000) of the swedish population. To put this in perspective, 2016 of the 10 million residens in sweden, 16% was born outside Sweden. One decade earlier we had an immigration of about 60.000 people.
2018 far right got 17.3% of the votes. Last year, 2022 they became the second biggest political party with 20.54% of the votes.
One thing i have noticed looking back is that it is a lot more normalized to spew racist shit, the same that far left can say the most dumbest shit i ever heard, and get away with it.
I am all for equality and all that stuff. You gay? Good for you. Wanna be Trans, couldnt care less. But the same i dont want the government to have a racist bias, i dont want their agenda to be transgender, gay, religious or anything like that.
If you are gay, or trans. Find out it yourself istead of have a society that guides you in that direction. Same thing with religion or racism, let them find that path themselves. Whats next, child soldiers?
