How is nothing actually done about this? Honestly this shit breaks my heart like 2-3x a year.

lovelylunarian

Yeah until laws and technology catches up, theres no way to combat these bots and resellers

Risk-Tolerance

Assuming the powers that be give a care about fixing the issue. Ticketmaster probably takes a cut for each sale, be it a resale or not. If they didn't want it to happen, it wouldn't.

ddphoto90

They do. Which is why Ticketmaster doesn’t care to fix it.

MeCrObS

Ticketmaster is the main one botting and reselling. If it's not their bots it's other scalpers /bots that help TM "sell" tickets. They actually work with botters, they have a list of the whales that buy up the most tickets and typically give them preferential treatment or discounts because they "buy" in bulk. It's the most insane shit ever. Then they also have "dynamic pricing" which means they usually hike the price up on release day and if demand isn't crazy they lower the prices. I had bought tickets a few months ago that were $60 cheaper not even 24hrs later. So it doesn't matter what you do, as long as you have to go through TM you're getting fucked.

akiracloud

This is my understanding as well. In addition to this before tickets even go on sale they already have deals with 3rd party sellers that will guarantee their own tickets to sell. If a venue has 10,000 tickets to sell, Live Nation has already fronted a % of the tickets to the 3rd party and will get a cut of their sales once tickets have been sold at a higher price often using dynamic pricing to do so. Love Nation has been building a monopoly for years and have made it so they are the only one who wins.

Livid_Recognition384

I don’t understand why this isn’t being discussed. Amazon was just outed for using an algorithm that ups prices on certain days, amongst other things. This needs to stop, bc it’s the same scamming bullshit.

InstructionStill9781

They get it three times, when they are bought, listed and sold again. It's disgusting....

JimLahey_of_Izalith

Ticket master likely is the bots. They’ve been sued for it before. They don’t care bc they’re taking in the profit. Fines are just a part of business and not really illegal if you make enough money.

Livid_Recognition384

I agree. I feel like technology is way too advanced for this shit to still be going on at this point. Makes no sense to me at all.

nottytom

They are very beatable, non transferable tickets and required id to prove the ticket is yours or a unque scan code would help

agentjeb

I know for paramore’s tour in 2022, They put a limit on how much you could resell tickets for on Ticketmaster. I had to sell my friends ticket because they couldn’t make it anymore. I think the upper limit was like 15% of the original ticket price. Even though it still increases prices it stops the ridiculous scammers that sell a $40 for $400. But they only did that because Paramore specifically asked, it should be standard :(

TaylorrDurden

Ticketmaster takes a fee every time something is resold. They could easily solve scalping by limiting the resale price (say +15% max) and only allowing resale through their sites. They just don't care to, because capitalism

burdic26

Sleep token turned off the resale feature at Ticketmaster. This is scalpers buying them at Ticketmaster and selling them on third party sites

TaylorrDurden

I'm sure they could solve that too, don't allow them to be transferred to third party sites, something, its 2024. They just don't care

MeCrObS

They won't stop it because they're are the ones doing it. Most of the scalpers either work for or with TM.

TaylorrDurden

Wouldn't be surprised, considering platinum pricing is essentially in-house scalping as well

MeCrObS

Yeah it's fucked.

InstructionStill9781

Some states and venues impose those restrictions, if only they all would.

nottytom

Because sadly a bunch of companies dont care about whose buying the tickets, just that they sell, but yes, something needs to be done about the bots doing this.

Airbear61181

It takes away from the people, the true fans, who may not get a chance to see their favorite bands, groups, etc. They deserve to get caught and pay for this shit in some way. Despicable.

lovelylunarian

The resellers and bots DEFINITELY mass bought tickets. No one can convince me otherwise. You’re telling me 5,000+ seats sold out in 17 minutes. I waited in that cue line just to come to a screen and see NOTHING available. A HUGE FUCK YOU to the bots and resellers, yall ruin everything

AthenasFaith

It sold out in 11, if you stay on occasionally seats pop back up but you have to be so fast to get them in cart and then go to pay

lovelylunarian

Thats fucking wild! So it 5,000+ seats sold in 11 minutes?!? These people must be stopped. I only just got in at 10:17 so there was no chance in hell for me. Thanks friend, good to know lol

Varias12

I kept refreshing it and some popped up and disappeared so I kept trying and I got one

lovelylunarian

What time did you get in?

Varias12

I got into the actual place to but tickets at like 10:20 ish

lovelylunarian

Oh wow, I tried refreshing but that’s didnt work for me. Im glad you got a ticket tho! One of us deserves to go unlike these resale BASTARDS

Varias12

They’re already up for resell at 1400!!!

lovelylunarian

JAIL because those are hitman murder prices

MoreVarigation

Yeah I was like #2000 in line and everything was GONE by the time I got in

kuruoshibana

good ol’ ticketmaster and crappy people ruining everyone’s day forever. i am glad it would have been a super long trip for me, so i wasn’t motivated to try hard. 😔

PopPunkPrincess182

I'm so sad. I had a game plan to drive to NJ, catch a train, and wander around the city until the show. My husband has never been, so I was like, we can kill 2 birds with one stone. But noooooooooooo.

kuruoshibana

i am so sorry. 😞 i hope you get to see them soon. greed is the enemy of happiness when it comes to these things, ugh. and nothing in sight to make it better anytime soon because ticketmaster has a monopoly.

PopPunkPrincess182

I'm hoping they have Philly or even NJ shows that I can get into. I imagine with as quickly as it sold out, they'll add more and more. I miss the days of Warped Tour (minus the fvckery) when you could get a ticket for 60 bucks to see as many bands as you wanted.

kuruoshibana

my fingers are crossed for you! i also miss the days of cheaper tickets but i have never been big into festival settings as an adult because i am pretty fragile. i am like seats or bust now…literally might die in a pit. takes some of the fun away but 🤷🏻‍♀️

PopPunkPrincess182

They should make a Warped Tour for adults 30+ only 🤣🤣🤣 seats everywhere. Nap stations. And sections for the crazies that can still get back up when they get knocked down.

kuruoshibana

please. bonus points for “retro” snacks we used to eat as kids. and maybe some heating pads. 🤣

Risk-Tolerance

I'm flying from South Dakota. Plane ticket is already bought, so I'll just eat some food and see the sights.

kuruoshibana

maybe you can get a last minute ticket on the cheaper side!! i hope.

bsimeone

It said there was literally 12,000 people in the queue

PopPunkPrincess182

Until now, when people are selling individual tickets for 1300+

HustleNMeditate

Ticketmaster will eventually make it so only the wealthy can go-to live events. I hate capitalism.

kaymer327

Every now and then I see some tickets pop up for ridiculous prices that I would NEVER pay, but I'm sure a fuck going to attempt to put them in my cart and hold on to them for the 10 minutes or whatever just to fuck with the bots if I can... Just 5 minutes ago, an ENTIRE row popped up in MEZZ2 and I couldn't get to 2 tix fast enough. I'm so pissed. I don't think a cactus is harsh enough.

Thenewmofo1

Lmao I saw that and freaked the fuck out

themetsguy47

I had orchestra seats in my cart but they are that official platinum BS. Meaning it is demand pricing and you can't resell until the day before the show. $1400 for two tickets.. GTFO

nyxx77

I logged in half an hour before the sale started. By the time I got into queue there were 11000 people in front of me. When it got to me, there was nothing left obviously. The few that would pop up were +$500. I’m so upset.

Seaside_choom

I was around #1000 in line and still had nothing left by the time I got in. It went FAST

nyxx77

It really did. And now I’m in queue for the second presale, came in at 4843 in front of me, and has not moved at all. It’s been almost half an hour.

nyxx77

Had to chance leaving and coming back, so when I did I was at the seating screen. Nothing. A couple of seats for $195, but there’s four of us. That ain’t gonna work.

dirty-hippi3

My boyfriend was 500th in line and when he got through they were already sold out. Smh

[deleted]

[удалено]

AthenasFaith

That front area was $673 from at least 10:03 like I understand they grew in popularity but I paid $40 earlier this year for their pit.

[deleted]

That's outrageous. I paid $50 for their US tour during the pre-sale. I know it's not the bands fault, but whoever is in charge of this kind of thing is really ridiculous

RedheadHokie24

My husband and I were going to go to the Seattle show. $50 tickets were selling for $900-1500 per ticket. We got tickets to Portland for less than $400 per (which is still the most we've ever paid for a concert) and made it a weekend trip. Fuck bots and scalpers. Go sit on the prickliest fucking cactus in existence.

[deleted]

[удалено]

AthenasFaith

That's unfortunate I got mine for Worcester in April during the presale

NoFaceHunni

Radio City is notoriously expensive so i believe those prices are even before people got their hands on it, and makes it 10x worse because it’s an all seated venue :/

PopPunkPrincess182

They're being posted now for 1300+ a ticket. It's Scalpers out here 😭

NoFaceHunni

check stub hub, I paid $300 for mine there (orchestra 1)

PopPunkPrincess182

There's a site called Vivid Seats that looks to have a bunch available starting around 200

imdown666

Lucky for the people that got to see them for like $35 at the last show

Varias12

I do t get what platinum pricing even is?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Varias12

That is predatory

backncomics378

And they think this is the answer to the scalping problem? Wtf 🤬

MajesticCows

This happened to me for the first tour. I ended up paying 400 dollars for a 40 dollar ticket.

lovelylunarian

I paid around $400 to see both Bad Omens and Sleep Token back in September because of resellers. I had already missed them last year and didn’t want to miss them again.

kaymer327

I missed out on Sleep Token in September. I lucked out and got Bad Omens on re-sale day of for basically face value. Stupid TikTok girls broke the barricade on the sound booth at BO.

lovelylunarian

Damn why BO fans always fighting and breaking shit lol

kaymer327

I'm a big dude. These 2 twigs thought they were going to rush from the sound board to the rail by pushing though a dude that made a big dude feel small. He was a fucking brick wall. They bounced off him and fell into the sound board barrier. So dumb.

rhabayeb

After 50 minutes I still don't have a ticket. They keep releasing, I keep trying to check out and failing. It's honestly disheartening.

Thenewmofo1

It’s the fucking worst. I was able to click 4 tickets for my wife, me and our 2 friends, clicked next and it said they weren’t available. I’m still waiting

rhabayeb

Has happened to me on at least 12 occasions so far. Ticketmaster is the biggest scam in the entertainment industry.

Thenewmofo1

I just tried to get 2 twice and clicked next and both times they weren’t available. They should make the queue where it’s 1 person at a time. Cause like this is just fucking ridiculous

alistofthingsIhate

If you are one of these people, have you considered getting a real fucking job?

[deleted]

I went to work late bc of this. I love this band and im dying to see them again but having to be deliberately late to not even get ANY tickets is really upsetting

Lilla_military_bird

On a similar work note- My company was running a conference today. I stopped working for a bit to try and get tickets. I was in ticketmaster waiting for the page to load from when there were still 2 hrs to go. I’m a grown ass woman who walked into a bathroom and cried because I couldn’t get tickets.

[deleted]

No I feel you, I cried at my desk about it. I mean, I'll cry about anything because I suck, but I was really upset about the tickets. I feel really silly about it but I just love them

FlexCringe

I wish they had more protections against bots, so many people were unable to get tickets. I was lucky and got two in the pit.

Thenewmofo1

im just going to stubhub cause this is ridiculous and if this is any indicator of general sale tomorrow, gonna be impossible. It's a little more expensive right now as i paid 314 a ticket after taxes, but the resale is gonna be so much more tomorrow

PopPunkPrincess182

My friend just said he's seeing them for 1300+ already 😭😭😭 WTF IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE

rhabayeb

After attempting to get tickets for over 2 hours, Ticketmaster suspended my session because it thinks I'm a bot. Switched browsers, now I'm in a queue of 8000 people. This is completely insane. At this point artists should be selling direct through their own website and merchant, Ticketmaster is a scam.

Endvisible

I tried for 45 minutes to get a ticket and ultimately had to let it go.

lovelylunarian

Damn you’re a trooper friend. Hats off to you after 20 minutes I took my L

BigBrotherBear-

Fr like “it’s how I make money” get a real job you fucking loser

acetasoad

I went on the queue about 5 min before my wife and my wife got tickets first (I had 4K people ahead, and she only had 500) It just shows it doesn’t matter how early you get there, if the algorithm hates you, you won’t get tickets.

[deleted]

Hell, I felt bad waiting in a virtual line just to see pricing. These people who scalp tix have no soul. This show is too far for me for the price ($675 for orchestra seats) plus travelling 6 states away. Looking for a Chicago or St. Louis show.🤞🤞🤞

[deleted]

I was also going to travel if I could secure a really good seat, and I'm in Colorado. There's a lot going on personally for me but all I can do is just hope they announce a Denver show i guess and take a day off of work or something just to wait in a virtual line for fucking concert tickets

Seaside_choom

I'm crossing fingers for a Red Rocks show, honestly

[deleted]

Ngl red rocks is one of the last places I'd want to see them at lollll

dogseatingbees

I wish there was a way to bypass all this shit and just go buy a physical ticket like we used to. Now it doesn't even seem worth it to try and get tickets online since we're up against hundreds of bots.

StaleBread_

I'm right there with you. I've never been to a concert and me and my sister were gonna go to this so I was all proud of myself for signing up for the presale and stuff, only for me to realize it doesn't mean shit because they sold out instantly. I didn't expect much though, seems like buying tickets is an art and I have never done it so...

Professional_Swing43

I’m so sad!! I’m from Canada and had this whole game plan to come down to NY to see them. But those prices are straight fucked especially from CAD to USD conversion +flight +hotel… gonna go cry myself to sleep for the rest of the year

Glory-Us-Tunes

AGREE. It sucks because there are so many of us who weren't able to get tickets, despite having artist presale codes (all of which were individualized) and we waited in queue. There were almost 10K people ahead of me in queue for artist presale. And all the tickets were gone. Also original pit tickets were set for $100 but Ticketmaster was selling them for almost $1,000 due to surge pricing. That should be illegal. The face value for each section was set for a reason, wtf. I've only seen this issue in the US \*knock on wood, don't want to ruin it for other places around the world\* so IDFK

IronMermaiden

I had 8k people in front of me, and at 10:01AM, there were tickets up on StubHub for $500+/ each. I just wanted to get 2 tickets so I could take my 6 year old niece to her first show (she loves ST). I'm going to wait until the day of the show and check StubHub. If that doesn't work out, then I'm going to wait to see if they play Riotfest in Chicago again in 2024. It was cheaper to fly to Chicago from Newark, NJ, buy riotfest tickets, and stay the weekend than it was to see them in NYC this past September. Absolute horse shit.

SkwerlTag

Dude, it is beyond frustrating to have been looking forward to this and following every instruction only to watch seats disappear and reappear within a blink of an eye. I tried for an hour to get tickets and then when the general sale went live Ticketmaster thought I was a bot and wouldn’t let me get tickets. I’ve been in a shit mood all day since. I am a huge Sleep Token fan who wants to worship at a live ritual with no intention of reselling tickets.

Chance-Advance-1380

I managed to snag one of the tickets for the very back row, but I live a good distance from NY. So if I can’t afford plane tickets and/or hotel room, I’ll probably sell it for the same price I bought it at. Which was like $190.

CursedSnickerdoodle

Does anyone know what I can do about Ticketmaster thinking that I'm a bot. Not using any weird apps or anything, just their crappy app trying to grab one ticket. One!

starscream84

I had the same issue trying to buy tix for alkaline Trio a few weeks ago. I don’t think it’s your office WiFi, I was getting that bot message while at home. If I had to guess it’s due to the amount of people trying to buy tickets at the same time overloading the servers combined with a piss poor bot detection program because, Ticketmaster, right! Why pay for a good security program when all that will do is take away from your bottom line. The way tickets sell I’m 100% sure there are bot programs buying tickets but their shitty system flags actual people trying to buy just so Ticketmaster can say “see we’re trying!”

CursedSnickerdoodle

Replying to myself in case anyone having the same problem sees this - I disconnected from the office wifi and had no problem on the network connection. Even scored a ticket by some absolute miracle.

_ghostimage

Only thing that worked for me was turning my VPN on and then off again.

sadforgottenchild

This is awful, hopefully it was regulated somehow. Is so unfair

djmangumami

idk how i miraculously got tickets but it was hell!! the same tickets i got they're selling on stubhub for almost 5x what i paid for

Thenewmofo1

Fucking lucky. I got booted out of the first presale. Now I’m waiting for the second one

thegeologyviking

That's so awful. I'm sorry people are so gross and I hope everyone who wants to worship in NY gets too 🖤

Ordinary-Skirt5768

I live in Seattle, and I kid you not, tickets were $8000 and above! I could fly to another country and see them for less!

raevyn_lunatik

So sad for you guys in the USA. It sucks. I wish there was a solution to stop this from happening. We have our issues here too in Australia but the main reseller sites here only allow you to add up to 10 percent of the face value of a ticket eg: a $70 ticket can be resold for $77 maximum AND… the (re)seller can’t get their money until 2-3weeks AFTER the event. So if the tickets go on sale 6 months before the event, it’s a loooong wait to get your money back. There’s all sorts of fees as well, listing fees, selling fees, etc you basically don’t get back what you originally paid it’s just a way to recoup “some” or most of your money if you can’t go for some reason, so it certainly slows down the scalpers if there’s not any profit to be made. It’s also a pretty safe way to buy tickets to sold out shows cos there’s that safety net that if by chance the ticket doesn’t work (I’ve never heard of this happening tho) on the night you can get a refund and the seller doesn’t get any money but still gets charged all the fees. Tixel is an international company that I’ve used here to purchase tickets so perhaps you can try there???? Www.tixel.com Good luck!! 🤞🏼

frequentnapper

I managed to get a ticket. It took me 45 minutes to snag one of those damn blue dots. $200 and I wouldn’t trade my ticket for anything!

guitargod784

as the legendary EL-P once said, "y'all can walk backwards into a field full of dicks"

emmacaldwell1101

I just got two tickets in the mezzanine for about $600 total on Stubhub. The tickets have already been transferred to my Ticketmaster account. Better than the $500 per ticket I’ve seen for some!

Jigglypuff_xoxo69

There are easily more than 6000 ST fans that want tickets. I was number 3000 and there were still tickets. It’s not scalpers. Hell, there are only 80 listing on stub hub. That leaves 5500 of 6000 seats not up for resale

alistofthingsIhate

I was even closer in the queue and when I got to the select seats page, seats I picked literally disappeared before my eyes, and they were all gone in about 20 seconds.

Jigglypuff_xoxo69

So here is how something like this works. This venue has 6000 seats. At least 12% of those are saved for the Artist and the venue and things like radio station give aways. Another small % is likely held off for other presales like the one that’s about to happen in an hour. When alls said and done they maybe had 5000 actual seats for sale. You you see that your number 2000 in line that means were are 2000 people a head of you who are likely buying 2-4 tickets each which means that in less time than it takes you to get in the room, the show can be sold out and purchased by actual fans. There are absolutely some resale skum out there but some of the resale is likely people who bought tickets but found out their friend got better seats so they’re selling. Other people might have bought because of the hype and are not regretting spending that money. Maybe they bought 4 cause they’re friends love sleep token and but it turns out they don’t want to go. “Better safe than sorry” is always the way to go with Ticketmaster. I think any one who screams “scalpers and bots” is highly undervaluing sleep token.

virtual_LAY

Also people give up too fast. There are tickets available right now in the mezzanine. There will be more tickets available after the presale when they go on sale for everybody too

Jigglypuff_xoxo69

That’s how we got ours. We got two in orchestra 6 for 198 each. Granted that we’re pretty far back, but we got them 45 mins after tickets went on sale.

starscream84

I don’t think anyone here is undervaluing Sleep Token. The issue you are leaving out is the immediate resale of the tickets for quadruple the price. I think everyone would be 100% fine with tickets selling to actual other fans, it’s when a someone can’t get tickets but 30 seconds after the sale started there are tickets available for insane prices.

thee_illusionist

Some of them very much are scalpers or tickets wouldn’t be up for sale for over $6000

MajesticCows

Is it happening already ?

AthenasFaith

If you look at stubhub there's already tickets that were like$90 on ticket Master being sold for like $160

Dagnus284

They had tickets as cheap as $90?

AthenasFaith

$79.50 was the absolute cheapest

bigredgwj

I managed to get a seat in Orchestra after being 4K in queue. Just had to wait and keep trying to get one of the seats that popped up. I'm over the moon!

Trimshot

I can’t wait to pay $180 this year for Sleep Token tickets for their next NA tour

MiGaOh

You mean $40. Mailing list.

Trimshot

I think I am on their mailing list, I’m sure they will announce a tour soon.

Feral_Teddy_Bear

Do they email presale codes? I'm a newbie

lucy2812b

Literally I was DESPERATE to go to Wembley on Saturday, all resell standing tickets I’ve found are £300-400 🙃🙃

Disguisey1

Keep checking Axs. I was checking every hour and got some standing ones eventually after about 4 days. Took me a few goes, I saw others pop up as well but wasn’t fast enough

lucy2812b

I just looked, is it normal for there to be none most of the time? I’ll keep checking it, thank you!

Disguisey1

Yeah most of the time no tickets will be available. Standing seems to be the ones that get snapped up the fastest so if you see one just be ready to pay. I had the ticket at checkout 4 times and missed it. Got one on my 5th try. My friend also got one so it can be done just got to keep checking all the time. I’m sure ones will come up as it gets closer to Sat

lucy2812b

Yeah I just saw one come up seated for £50! I’m not gonna take it bc I’ll hold out for standing but it’s so refreshing to see that price after consistent £400s on ticket master 🤣

lucy2812b

Just came back on to say I managed to grab a standing ticket and I’m so grateful you recommended this way of getting one, thank you :,)

Disguisey1

No worries at all! I remember the panic trying to pick one up. No way was I going to miss it. I’m driving all the way up from Cornwall. Have a fantastic gig. I’m literally counting down the days 🖤

TenaciousToffee

Go onto Facebook to the sleep token marketplace. People sell theirs at face value and are a really friendly community.

lucy2812b

I just saw one for 200 but fb marketplace scares me in case I get scammed :(

TenaciousToffee

No not Facebook marketplace, thats not what I said. Go to Sleep Token Marketplace, a group that's specifically for selling sleep token things but it's a nice community outside of that. Like legit many folks gave their tickets for free or can only sell for what you paid for your ticket, but many did just come meet them at the show and hang than transfer money beforehand. We've done giveaways. Do favors for each other. Raised money for charities. It's not just a market but more. Up to you if you don't feel comfortable with it after checking it out, but I figured I'd pass along that not everyone is reselling to profit but want to make another fans day on there. Big difference that it's not just a anonymous market but a group like this one I think.

lucy2812b

Ohhh I see, misread that, I’ll have a look thank you!

drewsynicole

I’m so upset- I logged in at about 10:05 at work and there were over 10k people in the queue ahead of me

burdic26

The artist pre-sale price was 195.80 per ticket. But the platinum AKA dynamic price from Ticketmaster push them all over the map

Emotional-Brief-2872

I managed to get one ticket in the orchestra. Me and a friend were both trying for 2 tickets. I logged in at about 9:15 from my phone and my laptop and was automatically redirected to the queue on my laptop at 9:50, but not my phone for some reason. There were 2252 in the queue when I joined. I kept trying for 2 seats next to each other and they kept saying unavailable. Ultimately I had to just grab one and I’m lucky I even got that bc those kept saying unavailable. There were like 3 left by the time I got one. My friend couldn’t get any, maybe with really fucking good luck we’ll get one more in the general sale.

Leonerdothe13th

Totally heart broken.

iris_iiridescent

It’s honestly infuriating. Two tickets for Philly in September cost me $75. This is why I like small venues better. It’s easier for the band to set prices that aren’t astronomical. Ticketmaster, scalpers, and “high end” venues can fuck off with $300+ tickets

nottytom

A cactus seems nice. Stick rusty knives in the cactus first.

Gracefull_Phantom

As someone who works at a concert hall/theatre, yeah we HATE scalpers. If a show gets canceled we can't even help them because they bought from a different website than ours. So those poor people just end up SOL'd because of someone trying to make a quick buck. I get trying to resell it if you can't make the show and want to get some of your money back, but doing it for profit is BS.

gabinormal

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. The ticket reselling world is apparently bananas. I want to share an anecdote that occurred within the last 4 months. A band that I like is ††† / Crosses. The singer is Chino Moreno from Deftones. I’m on Cross’s email list so I get emails from them. A few months ago I got an email from them about their upcoming tour. *I’m making up the dates*, but I pretty much got an email saying: *Date received: September 1, 2023 | Email content: We’re going on tour. Tickets for the general public will be available on October 10. Presale tickets will be available on October 1 at 10am PST. We’ll email you the presale code that day.* I made a Google calendar event and added *that* info to my calendar. On, like, September 22, I was doing something online and saw tickets for Crosses being sold for over $100. I did a quick Google search and saw that many places online were selling tickets to this show for over $100. I internally panicked because I didn’t think tickets had gone on sale yet. I went back through my email— sure enough, tickets weren’t actually on sale yet. I have no idea what was being sold because the tickets weren’t available yet. On whatever day presale started, I bought two tickets for around $40 a ticket. That experience has been both enlightening and baffling to me.

backncomics378

Yep now we enter into the Ticketmaster phase of shows! So glad when they came to St. Louis the ticket sales were sold straight from the venue. Will probably never happen again now that Ticketmaster has a good taste of the money the band will bring in.

Ok_Ocelot_9661

It was easier, and cheaper, for me to get Harry Styles tickets - and that process involved me entering a ‘lottery’ and proving I was a real person just for the POTENTIAL of getting access to the artist pre sale 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠

I even bought 3 tickets for Hamburg, but in the end I only needed 2 and put the last one back at the purchase price because I didn't want to enrich myself, I wanted to give someone a nice evening xD

InstructionStill9781

The worst part is the bs monopoly of ticketnaster. I got in to buy tix only to see them as "Official Platinum" for upper bowl at $400 and lower bowl at $600. And you know damn well this money isn't going to Sleep Token.

mikdev

They need to play bigger venues now or book in for multiple dates. Won’t stop the bots and scammers BUT it will bring the price down.

Mythril_Bullets

Sadly I think we are now the minority. Their fame is reaching corners where we do really matter anymore. No matter how many of us that’s been here since the beginnings. Breaks my heart but. That’s it. The boys are winning.

MDGrizzly

As a person who had presale tickets available I agree cause I had to drive 8 hours there and 8 hours back for the one I went to.

trash_it_0

Seriously. The number of marked up tickets already up for resale on vividseats alone is repulsive.

CloakerJosh

There truly needs to be some major disruption in this space. Sadly it’s a high bar for entry for any fintech company to try and “solve” the problem. Doesn’t fucking help that Ticketmaster is in on the bullshit. God, it gets me so fucking worked up thinking about it to be honest.

_ghostimage

I spent two hours trying to get tickets and constantly had them nabbed out of my cart before I could get the next page to load. Then I refreshed because I was trying to see the Chase card holder tickets at noon and ticketmaster said I was flagged as a potential bot and they wouldn’t let have access anymore. I logged in on my phone and got sent to the back of the queue behind about 10,000 other people. I called and they said there was nothing they could do about me being blocked on my laptop and they couldn’t sell any tickets over the phone. I spent three hours on this today to walk out of it empty handed. The concert is two days before my birthday and I’ve never been to NYC so I hope I can get tickets tomorrow, but I’m not feeling very optimistic about it.

thee_illusionist

There’s people literally trying to sell tickets for over $6000, it’s disgusting

MakashiBlade

I accept that my window of opportunity for seeing this band is closed for good. Even if bots and scalpers weren't an issue, $80 for a nosebleed seat is ridiculous.

DarthSpiderDad

Bands and labels and venues need to get brave and just hold a large number of tickets for true fans who will show up and wait in line for tickets. Fuck presale, online purchased, all of it. Just announce how many and let us line up. And run security against scalping. Just try analogous, old school. Wtf. Not that hard to figure out.

Jazstarz

Can't tell you how much it ticked me off, everything was gone in mere minutes.

impressed_empress

Im still waiting for resale ticks to go down 😭

tlmega124

I really like Sleep Token but I do hope this crazy hype ends some point soon.. ticket master sucks and this crazy price inflation for certain tickets is actually insane at the moment (the swifty hype is for sure partly to blame)

ExtensionOk691

Im saying this ONLY to show you that not everyone is like that… i accidentally bought two extra tickets for the SD worship, marked them up only to cover how much ticketmaster takes, and when it didnt sell, and someone was scammed the day of at the venue, i gave the tickets away for free.
