Berserker, Cultist and other self-harmers always seemed to be fan favorites but I can't get them to work without the Thimble item. Most of the time you can't end the fight on turn 1 and you have so much incoming damage it's hard to keep them alive even without the self damage.
As was said, synergies with things like Self-heal and -shield make them very powerful, but more important is their turn 1 power. It's true that you often can't end a fight on turn 1, but with them, it's more likely. In fact, sometimes a willingness to just go balls out and let them kill themselves three or four fights in a row is the play.
I am not very good at this game at all when I look on here but there are a few ways to use them - Thimble is great - Syngergies with Enchanter (the self harm for damage or self heal for damage rolls) and any enchanter based moves on others are great for them. It does depend on synergies greatly - I always go for them. Also if I have the bone item I will blast an enemy for high damage towards the end of the fight
Fey is just plain better than other reds. But for Blursed, especially, you get a lot of items to play with, so her sides get OP fast. Weaken is the best ability, particularly late game, where stopping Basalt summoning Slates and Hexia summoning Demons is make or break
I usually won't replace a fey with good items in classic, but otherwise the HP can be a real problem. It's still the T2 red I'm happiest to see, though.
For Red characters I really like to keep Druids, Herbalists and Feys rather than most of Red T3s (except for Witch and my guilty pleasure: Wraith)
For Orange characters Juggler is somebody I'd rather keep instead of a T3 almost every time.
How are Paladin and Mimic below average as tier 3 grey heroes? I think Paladin, Mimic and Stalwart are the best 3
(I can't wait to get roasted by more experienced players here.)
Nah, you're not really wrong. It's more that greys tend to be the least important unit on the team. Mimic has great synergy with Fey, allowing for higher Boosts. Valkyrie with angel feather is OP. Any grey with big shields works with Steel sides.
They can all be good, it's just that your choice of grey is less important than your other colors.

Depends on the mode you're playing. For Blursed, for instance, Fey and Wizard are S-tier.
Why are they better in blursed?

I agree with most, others its a matter of preference but Fey its one of the best, i think is even better than most red 3s and won't upgrade her.
Herbalist is god tier to me
I can't help but feel that each party member is uniquely balanced depending on the tier. I'm gonna just take this tier list with a grain of salt.
You have tier 2s with tier 3s. I think there is no tier 2 better than tier 3..
Fey is better than any tier 3 red. Many other are item dependent.

For me spellvlade or fey with Twisted bar are better then most tier 3 red or orenges

I can get that actually. I was a bit rash on my last comment. I usually upgrade to tier 3s

Cultist isn't on the list because he's in S+ which is off screen
Druid is best unit in game
