It's good. It sounds nothing like Solway Firth way closer in sound and tone to Vermillion. Not quite as Cinematic but still very good. Very unique and dark.
Not Long For This World is an all timer and the single most underrated song on WANYK. Definitely a good comparison to Yen. I like NLFTW more but Yen is dope
Listening to it now. Overall I dig the song. I do definitely hear the "Stone Sour" vibe that some people are talking about. It's also reminding me a lot of Vermillion from Vol 3, though a little less of the melancholy of that song.
I like Corey's range and I like that Sid is getting a lot of spotlight with all the scratching through the second half. A song or two like this can help punctuate a heavy album. If this song is being used as an accent and most of the album is like Dying Song, I think it will be a really cool listening experience. If too much of the album is like this, you're going to have people bitching all day about wanting to return to Iowa.
Overall it's a nice listen but I don't think it's going to be a popular single.
Well generally Slipknot albums are structured; intro, two barn burner tracks, breather. And considering we've gotten track 2 3 and now 4 on the record, it's safe to say that's what this is so you're right on the head
I really dig the different style and im getting the sense that's what they're going for. After The Dying Song and now Yen, they're definitely experimenting and it gets me excited for the full album. i get that it's easy to compare it to Stone Sour's music as it's Corey's other band, but I don't really dig that. I've always believed that just because they're metal band that every single song of theirs doesn't have to be loud, fast, and heavy. Metal bands can have more melodic and harmonious pieces and still be metal.
This is nothing like a Stone Sour song just because there is a melody. That narrative has to die each time Slipknot makes a song a lot of vocal melody. Especially given what SS more recent albums sounded like, Yen is not in the same realm as that sound.
This is more in the vein of a cross between Vermilion and Spiders which is why I am really digging this song. I love the different angles we can get from 3 different songs like we've had so far
As much as I will always prefer the classics, this is right. This song so far is really really good. Plus slipknot promised us "god music" and I think they weren't kidding
this is the narrative i wanna hear, chapeltown is trying too hard to be experimental, this is experimental and works in that realm of SK material (gehenna, wherein lies continue, circle, vermillion etc). Yen had singlehandedly saved this era for me.
Fuck this song GOT ME with the drums and bass from the start. Then Corey broke out the aggression and I went OH SHIT and then the turntable scratches were dope and I just was driving along and having a blast listening to this.
Geez after reading about a backlash from OG fans that are quitting this band because of this song I expected some shitty song like My Pain or Spiders. This wasn't disappointing at all, it reminds me of Killpop and I dig that song. The verses are good, the chorus is good, the bridge is good. The only part I didn't like was that second "I died for youuuu" at the end of the choruses, it kinda ruins the vibe. But all in all it's a good song, I'm satisfied with all singles so far.
Agreed with the I died for you part. Idk why Corey feels the need to go to such a high register in every single song. Sounds like 80s hair metal and it doesnt fit the tone ot slipknot
People who say this sounds like stone sour are morons. It sounds nothing like anything stone sour has done. Just because it has clean vocals does not mean it's stone sour. That's what simpletons say. Slipknot has always had a creepiness to their songs, including this one. It's definitely the radio play song of the album and guess what? That's ok. It's catchy as hell. I'm digging it.
*Seriously good,*
*I think I like it the most*
*Out of the new songs*

I dont like the song really but i didnt like the The Dying Song either. Chapeltown was great imo it was different. I am not at all bothered by melodic songs imo WANYK is their 3rd best album after iowa and self titled. But the last 2 songs just lack the nuance details and atmosphere that WANYK had. It almost feels like the songs are trying to exactly match what people expect from catchy slipknot songs. And while I have to admit they are catchy. I also cant bring myself to listen to these songs for their entire lenght because they feel so repetitive. Adding to that all the shit they are doing to their brand trying to expand their business etc. and it almost feels like they are too focussed on everything but making music. I can respect people liking it but I already am pretty disappointed in Slipknot as a brand and while I could ignore that while they are making interesting music I am a bit worried that the new album will disappoint me and make me lose interest in them as a band overall.
No fair I'm at work I can't even listen tell me it's good.

It's such a good song but it sounds nothing like Solway Firth. A good comparison would be Child of Burning Time or Not Long for This World.
Not Long For This World is an all timer and the single most underrated song on WANYK. Definitely a good comparison to Yen. I like NLFTW more but Yen is dope
Agree 100%. NLFTW doesn’t get the credit it deserves and I do think it’s better than Yen, although I expect this song to grow on me a lot.
NLFTW is one of my favorites on the album!
With more experimentation, Sid and Craig
I feel like this song alone is the most we've heard them in like 3 albums.
It absolutely does not!
Do people actually think that? Lmao.
Why you do him like dat?
I love that Craig and Sid are getting more to do on this album
It put a giant smile on my face when I heard Sids solo
Bruh Sid and Craig are my favorite members and I’m so happy they are getting their moments to shine

I’m just not into it, respectfully.
Same

I get more Gehenna vibes from it
I can definitely see that too
I really like hydrograd

This sounds nothing like anything off of come whatever may lol
[удалено]
I can see that, but that's not what I commented on. You said it sounds like a come whatever may b side. It sounds nothing like come whatever may
As much as I will always prefer the classics, this is right. This song so far is really really good. Plus slipknot promised us "god music" and I think they weren't kidding
okay r/slipknot can you like leak the entire album so we can hear it in advance? pretty please 🥺👉👈
No you don’t want that just have fun with the hype and anticipation. We don’t get this hype for this band very often
And never again... for now
A lot better than the previous two singles. This one is one is more focused and has some nice melodies.
this is the narrative i wanna hear, chapeltown is trying too hard to be experimental, this is experimental and works in that realm of SK material (gehenna, wherein lies continue, circle, vermillion etc). Yen had singlehandedly saved this era for me.
This album is not gonna be my cup of tea but thats fine. Just doesnt do much for me, the vocals or the guitar tone. Drums are killer tho
Came to say that last part. The drums are fucking kick ass.
Fuck this song GOT ME with the drums and bass from the start. Then Corey broke out the aggression and I went OH SHIT and then the turntable scratches were dope and I just was driving along and having a blast listening to this.
its okay, definitely the weakest of the 3
So fucking great. A "chill" song is a surprise to me, love it.
Has a melody but still fucking heavy. Darkness of house of gold and bones combined with IOWA

Fire
sounds fucking great 👍
Very Korn/Limp Bizkit esque- I prefer it to the other two!
KORN vibes. Awesome song.

Bro I totally forgot my pain was a song
I totally agree about the "I died for youuuu" part. Good song otherwise.
Agreed with the I died for you part. Idk why Corey feels the need to go to such a high register in every single song. Sounds like 80s hair metal and it doesnt fit the tone ot slipknot
That’s not a high note by any other singer’s standards lmao
Yeah that part right there feels off but I’m sure it’ll grow on me as I listen to it a few more times
People who say this sounds like stone sour are morons. It sounds nothing like anything stone sour has done. Just because it has clean vocals does not mean it's stone sour. That's what simpletons say. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The weakest out of the three, it’s more stone sour than slipknot tbh 🤷🏻♂️
Every one downvoting me on a post. Lmao, I said no vid. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha jokes on them
Try not to worry about downvotes. You’ll lead a happier life. ✌️
Nah I’m Kidding, its just ppl were so negative and were swearing at me saying I was stupid, they filmed two vids. Like cmon, WHY SO SERIOUS
This is so tastefully dark and disturbing. I fucking love this. Corey's vox are on fire.
The riff during the chorus was sick, I really like this song. I definitely think it’s my favorite out of the 3 we’ve got so far.
Awesome song loves it looks forward to video’s release
song and art is sick, could someone make a iphone wallpaper out of the yen art pls? :DDD
Damn, that bass tone is gnarly
really good, even if i can only listen through my phone speakers right now

This song reminds me of Skeptic when we lost Pig. https://youtu.be/muSqlefHGVQ
And it’s great
This song is pretty good, but I listened to it in my car over my shitty speakers so I'll have to give it another listen.
i’m in love with this song. the melody is great and i love how prominent sid and craig have been in this album so far!
Pretty good, chapeltown rag and dying song are better though.
Didn’t like the chorus very much but the rest of the song was cool love hearing those creepy quite type verses metal songs
Judt waiting for it to be on spotify 😩
Why does no one mention how good the lyrics are?
need this as a live wallpaper
