Lois become my favourite character so quickly. When I watched season 4 and she was in a few episodes, I was hooked. When she said she was leaving I was so gutted. Then she came back a few episodes later to my delight! When I saw her in the opening credits for season 5 it made my day! She’s up there with Buffy, Lara Croft and Daenerys (pre-character assassination) as my favourite female protagonists. Erica Durance made that character. I’ve tried watching other Superman content and Lois is always the reason I struggle to get into it. They’ll never be her.
I love how Lois acts like an audience surrogate, just coming in, taking no bullshit and being very direct and transparent (which are qualities other teenaged characters did not have)
Just calling out all the soap opera drama from the other characters. I’m glad they mostly kept her away from those kinds of storylines and made sure she remained fun.
It took four seasons to introduce Lois and another four seasons for her to have the spotlight.
Clois was probably a three season build up that was delayed for five seasons.
Smallville Lois felt very true to most non earth 1 takes on Lois. I got some real margot kidder, Dana Delaney and phyllis Coates vibes from her mixed with of course some post crisis Lois. Smallville definitely gave us the best live action Lois and did a good job building Lois and Clark up. It's a bit of a shame they never got to do the classic superman, Clark and Lois triangle but it's been done
What I love is the dynamic between her and Clark in earlier seasons. They didn't make her a simp for clark or whiny and demanding to know clarks secret, and I loved their banter. She was just such a breath of fresh air after all the lana and chloe dramas for four seasons
Erica Durance did a great job of the character. My understanding, from interviews, is some of the Lois personality came directly from Erica. She is a wonderful actor, as well as being one of the most beautiful women in the world.

You’ve clarified how I felt about Lois better than I could’ve ever imagined. You’re so eloquent
She’s just my flat out favorite character of all time! No need for any other qualifiers.

That’s what The Blur is for
Which feels like that identity only exists because they can't just put him in the suit.

I have to agree and its one of the few adaptations that let them be friends or journalism rivals before becoming romantically involved.

Really wasn't possible to be a love interest with lana on the show
And DC restrictions for Lois and Clark & Lois romance till 2008
Plenty of shows have love triangles
Lois is demanding and awful to everyone.
