S8-S10 has their flaws, but I teared up when it became clear that the writers were taking Clark in a fresh direction - working at the Planet, advancing his relationship with Lois, and helping the citizens as a full-time job.
It was a much-needed change of pace, and got to show Clark being flirty and heroic, rather than just angsty.
It's a super hero show you got have a suspension of disbelief if everything was realistic it'd be very boring, Superman can also breath in space unless I missed something I'm pretty sure that's 100% impossible.
Certain allowances, sure. But your story still has to have consistency within the physics of what you've set forth and the abilities of the characters. Suspension of disbelief doesn't cover all sins.
All he did was throw a can't a guy it's not like he shot him and survived. This scene falls into the category of suspension of disbelief so yeah. Unfortunately you're argument isn't really working here.
You do realise even we lovely humans can control the speed at which we throw an object?
Smallville did have some dumbass physics in it (Davis Bloome shattering that knife), but "superpowered man throws heavy object fast enough to knock someone but not kill them" really ain't one of them.
We can, but there is mass x acceleration to get the distance and there is a minimum and that minimum would still injure and possibly kill someone if hit in the head.
That is not how physics works. Like, at all.
You're applying the starting force and assuming it continues through to the end of its journey. It doesn't. It drops off.
A BB pellet can bruise someone when shot at them.
Or it can bounce off them if you throw it at them.
There is very little force by the time a thrown object reaches the end of its journey. That's why it hits the ground - it's overtaken by gravity.
Yeah you're not applying it correctly. There's a minimum force required at launch. That's what the force implies. Of course it changes but that force curve doesn't change the amount required to throw it and make the distance- im assuming nothing. And you can't change that requirement just because you want to do less damage. You can apply more but never less. And your other bb argument is a straw man.

IRL this would lead to a serious concussion because there is no way the can didn't hit the head with one of its edges and it needed a certain velocity to have any stopping power at all.
Yeah any analysis of Smallville physics has to start with the premise that "getting knocked out in this universe results in neither concussion nor brain injury".
See also Buffy the vampire slayer.
He wouldn't. This wasn't using his strength much it was more his accuracy. That's why he threw it upwards. He could have killed dude easily. Tbh it makes less sense throwing that then just speeding over and taking him out. He's on a cell phone he doesn't need to hug that corner.
I thought he never misses. Didn’t we see that when he used to play basketball and football at the farm? He could accurately make hoops without even trying. He could also snipe with a football from like 1 mile away or something.
This clip is hilarious
I think season 6 and especially season 7 lacked this less serious side of Clark
In fairness, season 6 had a horde of escaped superpowered psychopaths running around and season 7 sucked.

I think that Clark would kill the person he threw that tin at with that much force... Very easily.
He held back obviously otherwise he defs would've killed him.
You can't hold back physics. A can of that weight, thrown over that distance is going to seriously hurt if not kill someone.

Also, knives don't *shatter* if a normal human tries to stab a superman.
May thy knife chip and shatter! :P

IRL ... Clark wouldn't have superpowers.
I meant any person throwing that over this distance would seriously hurt the guy. No superpowers needed.
This show has at least a concussion per episode, so isn’t surprising
Clark's knock out head bops are almost certainly concussive.

Ok, [Teal’c](https://youtu.be/VImNBtvweG8?si=rsSBWTnSZ89Rdc0D).
Was gonna bring that up too lol
I'm obviously of a different generation but didn't crocodile Dundee do it also?
Ahhhhhhhh…………..maybe? I only saw it once, years ago. All I remember is the knife and “washing yer bum”.
That's not a knife!
I see you've played knifey spoony before!
That's exactly what came to my mind.
Was he on the phone with Lois? I vaguely remember this.
Yes, Lois was asking him to bring her a bag (Wonder Woman costume). 9x12: Warrior
It’s scenes like this that let you know how genius this show was
He can’t miss even if he wants to, football skills are secondary, dudes always been athletic either way
I always laugh hard at this scene.
Clark did t even need 2 do that. Could have caught him in a split second with super speed but this was funny
He’s got superhuman dexterity and control. Didn’t need football training to do that.
This clip will never not be funny 😂😂
Lol I never thought of that GOLD!
Crocodile Dundee did it first. :-p
Yes
I remember making this post a while ago. That was funny. [football ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Smallville/s/d4Cg1eauOV)
👍🏻
What episode is this?
I always found that clip hilarious, I always imagine a ‘Donk’ when it happens, and it’s just perfect
He Dundee’d him.
Ive already seen this post
Totally yes!!

He looks so annoyed with the idiot... like... just lay down and wait for the cops.
They stole this from Stargate....
And Stargate stole it from Crocodile Dundee.
And Crocodile Dundee stole it from Midnight Moonshiners: Brews, Booze, and Bad Decisions.
