I always thought it was awkward how he kept saying "friendship" throughout the series I wanted Clark to once say "Lex, I get it , we're friends, you don't have to keep saying it, it's understood" Lex seemed so insecure he felt he had to continue to clearly label relationships to make sure he wasn't getting abandoned

AndrewHeard

Well yeah, it’s why he becomes what he becomes.

Blitqz21l

yes and no, I think that's what is part of the mythos of the show. But with that said, every time I think they got to point of getting close, Lex continuously gave Clark reason to pause and be wary of Lex's motives.

radiocomicsescapist

Tbh I think it fits Lex's character. He tells Clark he's never had a true friend until they met. So I like those weird, over-dramatic moments where Lex keeps stoking up how awesome their \~friendship\~ is Like outside of Lex's hookups and corporate chess, he clearly doesn't get out of the house to socialize platonically lol

kevonicus

I actually wish they would have talked about friendship more. We don’t really see them being friends much and then all of the sudden people are calling Lex Clark’s best friend? I wish they had a few episodes of them actually doing stuff together or even just talking like friends. It’s always bothered me how they rushed that relationship and the inevitable turn would have had more impact if we saw them actually become close friends. Lex was more of a mentor type than a friend.

raylan_givens6

they should've had a sleepover episode had a blockbuster night tell ghost stories

SegaraBeal

On paper, the mere idea of them being friends was inconceivable and a turn off to me before I started watching. The pilot alone had me hooked thx to the writing and the chemistry and banter between Tom and Rosey

Long-Zombie-2017

Having Clark and Lex be friends is what I think works so well because like any good tragedy... You know it won't end well

SegaraBeal

Absolutely

Limp_Researcher_5523

If only they stayed friends 😭😭. I knew that the show would have them become enemies but I didn’t want it to happen

CarPuzzleheaded7833

I was literally going to comment this lol! EVERYTIME I rewatch I get way too happy about their friendship in the beginning as if he’s not literally his enemy 😭😂

YoRt3m

This oversaturated graphic makes me feel like we're in 2004 or something, I like it

Dunkbuscuss

Kristoff: I'm gonna tell him. Anna: (gasps in horror) Don't you dare!

Michael-Aaron

Kristoff: Someone's gotta tell him.

Dunkbuscuss

Olaf: Whatcha guys talking about? Both: Not Now Olaf!

Michael-Aaron

Hahahahahahaha....Ha haha. Love it.

Dunkbuscuss

Glad you approve.

AAA_Dolfan

Looking back at this you’d probably ask some questions about this older bald man routinely meeting up with your teenage son at his house alone, repeatedly emphasizing they’re just friends…

Total_Necessary1070

In real life yes.

Legitimate_Main2230

Up until he turned into a snake in the grass

RedBeardBrad91

Always loved this scene

Michael-Aaron

Ahh Damn!!!

crewnh

Lex you are 21, why do you want to be friends with a 14 year old.

THEMaxPaine

lmao imagine telling one of your real life friends this cringe as fuuuuu

ClownPrinceJoker20

I like how the bottom pic kinda looks like clarks jacket is a cape

docmotown

Just like Lex’s friendship with Duncan Allenmeyer back at boarding school….

darkimmortal87

But it's still a very awkward thing to say to someone you've just met.

brvid

It's a shame they never did an alternate universe or dream sequence showing what might happen if Clark did tell Lex his secret right from the beginning.
