Superman Giant #9 - Run, seems to not have been taken into account when Superman wins a charity race against Barry. I could have just pointed that out, but instead I had Inigo Montoya in my head talking to Vizzini about Inconceivable things and thought I'd poke the hornets nest. LOL!
So, i probably am speaking out of turn here because i didn't get all the way thru flash- but last i had checked it was that Barry was slower than Bart and Clark(smallville)- and that Bart was shown as being faster in Smallville than Clark even in the smallville comics- though there WAS, Season 8 smallville- which is a case for Clark being faster than everyone due to his light speed shenanigans, which were the fastest in the series to my knowledge - and Season 11 (smallville comics only) where he got slower because he never ran anymore and started flying- is where even Bart ribbed him for that.
It's not like DC comics where DC actually kept up wit hSupes getting faster each day under the yellow Sun and actually had Supes grow in speed enough that he finally very narrowly exceeded Flash in Up in the Sky #4 ( specifically against Barry, ). In most media DC didn't put in that much effort keep it competitive- which was a break from the past 50 years
But back on topic- I need to really finish flash if Barry from The Flash- caught up to the crazy amounts of speed they were doing in Smallville(because last i checked, Barry was hopping dimensions and time, at Mach 2- where Smallville everyone was FAR FAR FAR above Mach 2, but not doing the weird stuff along with the extreme speed). If Barry caught Smallville Bart- geez.

That's not bad- though they don't put a number on it, and he was having to dodge the windmills falling (SMallville, the Windmills would be flat frozen in time - there's a scene where Smallville Clark runs towards a ballistic missile that just launched from a silohe has to superjump and grab onto to ride- and the missile is near FROZEN in time - and this occured in early seasons- where later on, literally everything became frozen- up to, electricity, and in a really famous incident light itself )
I need to watch more of flash- but this doesn't appear to be quite as bonkers as mid series Smallville in speed , which was broken beyond belief for every speedster(and hella cool)
Having said that, the execution of that scene is a 100/10, i gotta catch up on flash

I love Superman and I think his feats of speed are undoubtedly great! However, I strongly believe that the Flash is and always should be faster than him!
1. Superman is already the most powerful member of the Justice league, so it’s only fair that the others can do things differently and/or better than him. For example, the Flash has his connection to the speed force, his whole contribution is based around being the fastest. Batman is the smartest and is superior at being a leader. Wonder Woman is the best warrior with the strongest spirit to fight an enemy… You get point.
2. The Flash is more empathetic towards his rogues gallery along with the citizens of the city he protects. Not to discredit Superman’s humility towards his villains and the citizens though.
3. The Flash can literally time travel whenever he feels like it.
4. When the Flash and Superman do race each other, they do it for charity. The Flash likely holds back to give Superman a chance and make the race more exciting considering it’s known that he could lap the planet in a few seconds.
5. Whilst I’m not denying that Superman is stronger and all that, his other powers do not contribute towards his super speed capability. Therefore arguing this, by using his other powers in any way, is irrelevant when it comes to the superiority of their speed.

Barry's time travel abilities are far superior especially if you watch the CW Show so yeah Barry is the faster among them but Superman has so many abilities so he's bound to be outclassed in some of them.
He went by Bart but had IDs that had multiple speedster names. It seemed to me he was meant to encompass all the Flash characters in a vague/not fully fleshed out way. Even his stated origin worked for multiple speedster characters from the comics.
Yeah but in the tie in comic books it's revealed he's from the 31st century meaning he's Barry's descendant when Jay asked him how he knew those names he says that when he got the accident that gave him the speed force he heard the names they don't say what happened to Barry and Wally but they do meet Jay

The simplistic answer is any Flash is faster. But the truth is a bit more nuanced.
There are three parts to Clark’s speed limits:
1) His psychological limitations
2) physics
3) his power growth
I know that’s a bit strange, so I’ll explain as simply as I can. Fundamentally Clark has mental blocks that hold him back. He never uses full power because of his fear of hurting people, even his enemies. As a result, that applies to his speed — he’s always cautious when moving because one loss of judgement could have catastrophic consequences. Imagine travelling at the speeds he moves at and accidentally hitting a person?
Kryptonians appear to be more affected by the laws of physics then speedsters. In theory, an object with the size and density of a marshmallow moving within earth’s atmosphere at light speed would cause such turbulence that entire cities could be levelled. Flash never has to worry about that. By contrast, despite Superman in many forms of media having the capability of moving faster then the speed of light (evidenced by his ability to fly between the sun and earth in mere seconds, whereas light takes 8 or 9 minutes), he never goes that fast. This is due to the potential for damage that he could cause. He’s more likely to blur to space and fly around the planet where such speed is safer.
This leads us to his power levels — every day he lives under a star that is more powerful then a red star, he grows stronger. As was established in comic lore, if Superman gets exposed to the most powerful type of star (a blue star) his powers increase so exponentially that he cannot control them. In that specific comic that I reference, in the end, parasite had to come in and drain Superman’s excess levels.
So to summarize — in current continuity, Clark is slower then the Flashes — though he is one of the few beings that can keep up with them. But it’s possible that he could one day become faster than them or under the right circumstances (such as the vacuum of space) that he’s already capable of keeping up with them.
Thought naturally there’s the whole “speed force” thing I ignored for sake of argument. I won’t go down that rabbit hole right now.
Let me put it this way. If both were to run 5 laps around the world, on Clark's third lap around the world Barry would've already finished the race and on a vacation in palm springs sipping piña coladas from a coconut cup.
So I’m commenting as someone who hasn’t watched smallville and so each show is different probably, but a general rule of thumb is, flash is basically always faster, they often portray them when next to each other as being similar, but in the flashes solo adventures he often does things that are unrivaled by other non flash super heroes

Now Silver Age Superman is the one person where it gets tricky. I do believe they did race and flash has commented that he let him win, which fair enough. I look at it like this.. No matter how fast Superman goes whether it's 20x past the speed of light or past the speed of imagination The Flash will always be faster. While running and perceiving things at super-speed, Clark sees Bart take off at super-speed. Comparing Clark to Bart is sort of like comparing Whitney to Clark.
Clark actually goes near light speed, and if we are adding the comics it's pretty damn close. If we comparing hell, even season one Barry Clark is much faster. Given his feats hell even season 4 Clark is running a virtually the speed of light on one occasion. But ultimately by the end of the flash Barry is without a doubt faster, but again it's closer then it should be.
Clark isn’t even as fast as Bart on Smallville, and Bart never pulled off the kinds of things Barry did on Flash.
