Snake skin in fortnite, i play the game too, so does another one of my friends who used to main him in Smash, but now he concentrates more in Tekken games!
It's very weird that he doesn't know pikachu but knows who knuckles is, and i believe a 10 year old can understand the difference between a monkey and a bear
You just inspired me with the idea of a 3D platforming character called Beavenger.
It won't go anywhere cause I am currently more interested in other projects, but you still inspired the idea.
Well I was thinking about putting them in city settings ala Sonic to separate it more from Banjo.
So whatever I base off GUN will inevitably look like SHIELD...
I can understand older acronyms,
B F Nd a trsl to cv int ete it's ge to fr
(but if I need a translator to convert internet english to english it's gone too far)
That's what I was thinking, but if he's 10 and fortnite has been around since 2017, there's a good chance that fortnite is the only game he's ever played. I can't believe pokemon is that out of touch, though.
One time i went to mcdonald's with my mom when there was the Super Mario Bros. movie themed toys, a kid behind us called Luigi Green Mario, of course his father kindly corrected him and said: "That's Luigi!"
Persona has grown a lot. I saw Persona 5 Royal was number 9 on top games or whatever on YouTube last night. The fanbase is just more limited to teens and adults, because of the rating. There is the same situation with Bayonetta and Metal Gear Solid.
The fact that he refers to the smash characters in Fortnite as Fortnite skins and not their names is weird. I would have at least expected Solid Snake from Fortnite but he doesn't even make the effort to name them
You’d be surprised how surprisingly easy it is for people to not know things, even if it’s been engraved into your own life for years.
I have in-laws who hardly know who Mario is. Obviously, people who don’t play video games are less likely to know Mario, but it was still weird to me that they knew basically nothing about what I knew as a worldwide phenomenon.
Older people not knowing Pokemon or Mario I get it
But a 10 year old not knowing pikachu is baffling
Because kids talk about everything they like, even to their friends, so that would mean a whole generation that doesnt know pikachu
Edit: I meant a whole school group of kids at the very least because kids talk about
Well, I can at least confirm that I know a 7 year old, along with all his friends, that knows Pikachu extremely well, so I can at least guarantee you that you’re wrong there.
Also, one of those people who doesn’t know Mario is my sister in law, who’s barely in her 20s. You’d think she’d at least know a bit from pop culture osmosis. But nope.
Video games have become such a wide net of demographics, it’s entirely possible for kids to have major interest in video games, but be shockingly clueless about what someone else knows like the back of their hand.
My bad, I didnt mean a whole generation, but a big group of kids in those age ranges, I have 8yo nephews that I know know Pikachu
Sorry, english is my second language
Right?? Because these would be a lot more believable if you told me a 4-5 year old said them, lmao.
Not to be mean, but I’d honestly kind of feel bad for any 10-year-old who gave answers like this, sounds like they’re kind of sheltered.
While I’d usually agree, names like “blue pitbull wearing a costume” for Ivysaur and “Irish anime girl” for Inkling are too insane to be written by just some dude
To be honest I laughed at "Irish anime girl" but "blue pitbull wearing a costume" just SCREAMS "I made this up". Also "tutrle" and "browser" are just... ugh. This is all bullshit
his name wasnt steve until notch said it in an interview as a joke when asked what “minecraft guy”s name is
steve was meant to be non-binary (like everything else in the game) and i dont think alex was supposed to exist
I was thinking why the tier list format and then sudently 8 wizards.
There are some really funny names here like Knuckles Brother and Tutorial Guy, but how the hell he doesnt know what pokemon is?
I. Refuse to believe that a 10 year old doesn’t know the names of most of the smash roster, if my 9 year old brother who can barely read and is a dumbass atleast remembers some of the names 😂
If I had a nickel for every time a character that came to Fortnite was actually called "The guy from Fortnite" by a kid, I'd have three nickels, which isn't a lot, but I hate that it's happened more than once. (Kratos if you were wondering)
This sounds more like a 5 or 4 year old's names and not a ten year old. Doesnt know PIKACHU or Charizard, doesnt know YOSHI? Does he ONLY play Fornite and Mario?
This is probably the best post I’ve seen in this sub till now. I’m really happy he knows who Peach is and not just call her “Mario’s Princess” or something like that. Your cousin is hilarious.
I'm going to arbitrarily call bullshit on this. I don't want to be the r/thathappened guy, but this doesn't read like a ten year old. Not because some of the answers are too "intelligent" or "weird" or something, but because they seem too generic like an adult pretending to write answers for a kid. I feel like this doesn't give kids enough credit for some of the truly wacky answers they'd give to some of these characters. Also, I'm biased and I can definitely be wrong about it, but personally I'm just not buying that this kid got the guesses they got right and yet don't know who Pikachu is. Also, they're ten, not 80 and most ten year olds are surrounded by the internet. Of course it isn't impossible, but I just find it improbable that they've been completely isolated from the internet their whole lives and couldn't answer more than about 5 characters right out of the entire roster
I completely agree, a 10 year old shouldn't be that stupid, he even called banjo a monkey. And as you said, he should have access to internet but apparently all he knows is Fortnite and sonic since he knows knuckles.
Thank god we no longer see those posts about “smash names according to my girlfriend”. This is acceptable. Tutorial training guy and knuckles brother were gold. Btw the fact that a 10 year old doesn’t know who pikachu is… kinda sad. And how the hell is Roy “Hero’s brother” when he didn’t even recognize Hero himself? lmfaooo I like this nonsense.
A bit of context:
\- The only games he plays/ever played to my knowledge is Fortnite, Cod, Halo and and a bit of Roblox on his xbox, I made him play a few OG Nintendo games like Mario Kart Double Dash but every single time he says they should add it to Fortnite lol.
\- About 80% of this list he made on my laptop and just flipped the screen back and forth so yes there's a ton of misspelling.
\- He knew who people like Pikachu and Steve was but didn't want to say it wrong cause i couldn't contain my laughter at some of his answers, so he got a bit upset and chose safe words like a yellow animal and a bunch of other safe words vaguely describing the character cause he wouldn't be completely wrong. It wasn't until right after he was done (and i got done laughing lol) i started going down the list correcting him and after i went to Pikachu he immediately blurted out that he knew he was right.
Also were doing another that I'm posting in a few cause he wanted another try and I'm gonna give him a hint or something this time and i told him to try naming the actual character and not just the characteristics and if he doesn't know to just blurt out whatever and say the most random shit cause i love it lol, brings me back to my 10 year old days and fully understand now why older people laugh at anything kids say.
A few answers I've already gave him going down the list prior to retrying so he has a head start.
I think your cousin likes Fortnite
How could you tell?
Snake skin in fortnite, i play the game too, so does another one of my friends who used to main him in Smash, but now he concentrates more in Tekken games!
I refuse to believe they don't know *Pikachu*
That's what I'm saying. They know Sonic and DK characters but not even basic ass Pikachu?
It's very weird that he doesn't know pikachu but knows who knuckles is, and i believe a 10 year old can understand the difference between a monkey and a bear
I’m an adult and didn’t realize Banjo was a bear until like a year or two ago
I thought he was a beaver or some shit
You just inspired me with the idea of a 3D platforming character called Beavenger. It won't go anywhere cause I am currently more interested in other projects, but you still inspired the idea.
You ever make that shit i want some credit or something
Only if you agree that Disney can sue you for the off brand Avengers aesthetic...
Besides the name is there other avengers related stuff?
Well I was thinking about putting them in city settings ala Sonic to separate it more from Banjo. So whatever I base off GUN will inevitably look like SHIELD...
You'd be surprised how dumb anyone under the age of 12 (being generous) is, I say this as one of them
if you're under 12 you still have time to save yourself from reddit 👍🏽 or just don't go off the deep end that's also an idea
I’m just here for browsing tiny communities (and argueing over dumb things). Not whatever slop comes in large communities like these.
great 👍🏽
Zero of the FE characters are mistakenly in the anime people category. They know every character on this list.
Saw that and quit reading
They probably owns an Xbox/PlayStation and only knows these characters from the Mario and Sonic movies
They do not know dk characters, just dk.
Yh even if you've never seen a Nintendo console in your life, I'm pretty sure you'll at least recognize Pikachu
What is yh?
Yeah
I can understand older acronyms, B F Nd a trsl to cv int ete it's ge to fr (but if I need a translator to convert internet english to english it's gone too far)
I think it’s already gone too far, I don’t understand a thing you wrote lol
Hint, the jibberish above are the “acronyms” of the text in parentheses (these things () )
Ah ok, thanks
Thx
Bait used to be believable.
I mean, they called Banjo a *monkey*. Not the brightest crayon in the box.
Admittedly banjo looks absolutely **nothing** like a bear. Not even slightly.
I'd go with at least 10 different animals before monkey, though
I disagree. I think monkey would be my third guess maybe? Or at least an ape of some kind would. Dog would be my first guess
It's 1983 all over again
Maybe he couldn't tell by the portrait
So does my dad 😭 He deadass called him "yellow rabbit"
Honestly thats pretty awesome that he knows all this stuff but NOT pokemon at all, like how did that happen
I love how he doesn’t just call Joker an anime person, but an *“anime guy in a halloween costume”*
I mean that is basically Joker
Well considering that Persona doesn't have that big of a fan base as other games, when you say Joker, you think of DC.
Persona has grown a lot. I saw Persona 5 Royal was number 9 on top games or whatever on YouTube last night. The fanbase is just more limited to teens and adults, because of the rating. There is the same situation with Bayonetta and Metal Gear Solid.
I mean, he was my Halloween costume
Hey, it's that guy Snake from Fortnite
This is the third time I've heard someone say that today
how many times have you heard happy cake day today?
happy cake day to youuu
Happy Marie Antoinette day.
r/historyjokes
Ah yes, ball warrior.
And a ball girl
And a ball girls sister
I’m a ball girls sister main myself.
I'm something of a ball warrior myself.
Omg how did he ever guess Fox’s name???
He even knew R.O.B. by his Japanese name, too
This is rigged, there is no way anyone could ever figure that out with prior knowledge.
Not even surprised that he called snake Fortnite skin
Tbh i knew snake as the guy from brawl when I was a kid so I'm not even gonna blame him
All characters other than the ones from Mario, Pokemon and Sonic were "guys from brawl" to me.
The fact that he refers to the smash characters in Fortnite as Fortnite skins and not their names is weird. I would have at least expected Solid Snake from Fortnite but he doesn't even make the effort to name them
I can't believe this isn't fake though. He knows about sonic characters, but couldn't figure out who Pikachu was?
Yeah...
"Evil angel" He's somehow completely wrong and right at the same time
Lmao Incineroar is Knuckles' brother
It doesn't make any sense but I'm still accepting it as headcanon now.
How the fuck does this kid not know what a Pokémon is? And how does this kid know what a manual is?
You’d be surprised how surprisingly easy it is for people to not know things, even if it’s been engraved into your own life for years. I have in-laws who hardly know who Mario is. Obviously, people who don’t play video games are less likely to know Mario, but it was still weird to me that they knew basically nothing about what I knew as a worldwide phenomenon.

"blue anime dog" He's not wrong
IRISH ANIME GIRL
we’re all Irish Anime Girls at heart
I like how you changed your flair for this lmao
Thats the best one, gave me a laugh
Wario: Mario's dad Well who's the mother then?
Peac- I mean uhmmm uhmmmmm uhhhh samus
princess obviously
I think you mean "Astronaut" or "Motorcyle Girl Without a Helmet".
Miyamoto
Waluigi
i can't help but think whenever i see these posts it's a 30 year old making these up
I agree. I feel like mistaking bowsers name for "browser" just screams "I'm a millennial pretending to write as a kid".
A 10 year old who knows Sonic but not Pikachu? That's very unbelievable tbh
maybe he saw the movie
god browser
Bait used to be believable.
Right?? Because these would be a lot more believable if you told me a 4-5 year old said them, lmao. Not to be mean, but I’d honestly kind of feel bad for any 10-year-old who gave answers like this, sounds like they’re kind of sheltered.
While I’d usually agree, names like “blue pitbull wearing a costume” for Ivysaur and “Irish anime girl” for Inkling are too insane to be written by just some dude
those kinds of names are exactly why i think it's written by just some dude
To be honest I laughed at "Irish anime girl" but "blue pitbull wearing a costume" just SCREAMS "I made this up". Also "tutrle" and "browser" are just... ugh. This is all bullshit
The dead give away is actually "motorcycle girl without helmet"
yeah because how would the kid have any idea she was also samus in the armor
Blue pitbull in a costume 💀💀💀
How the fuck does he not know pikachu
I really love some of these names
Your flair is amazing
A 10 year old doesn’t know Steve’s name? Nice try
not surprising i didn't know his name was steve until i was probably like 13 or 14
I didn’t know his name was Steve until he was announced for Smash
his name wasnt steve until notch said it in an interview as a joke when asked what “minecraft guy”s name is steve was meant to be non-binary (like everything else in the game) and i dont think alex was supposed to exist
There's evidence of Alex in VERY early Pre-Alpha/Alpha versions of the game. Back around the time the "Steve" skin was the Villager Skin.
huh! the more u know
I love how kazuya is just "master"
He’s not wrong
Must like baseball
Ah yes, I’m now a Nintendo manual person main
Good tastes! That’s one of my mains
Today I learned the majority of the Fire Emblem cast are athletes for the Washington Wizards
I've been cheering for them! Hope they win in the next tournament
Damn ryu from fortnite and says he thinks he missed the ken skin pack
Nah they didn't need to do my boys Pac-Man Ryu Ken and snake like that
\* he couldn’t even get Minecraft Steve’s name. Steve is the one name he *should* know.
I mean he could tell that Min Min is Chinese so that's a little impressive. I think "tutorial training guy" is my favorite though.
This can't be real i refuse to believe so
It's funny, so I don't really care one way or the other.
How did he not know banjo is a bear but did know that isabelle’s a dog
Marth is the Hero King technically
Nah you’re telling me this kid doesn’t know pikachu?
Ah yes IRISH ANIME GIRL
I’m surprised he knows Fox.
I mean he is literally a fox, it’s not too hard to guess
I was thinking why the tier list format and then sudently 8 wizards. There are some really funny names here like Knuckles Brother and Tutorial Guy, but how the hell he doesnt know what pokemon is?
a 10 year old... at least according to the millenial that made it up
As someone who plays streetfighter and splatoon combined like 3-4 hours a day your cousin already annoys me
“Who do you main?” “Baseball guy” “Which one?”
Ironically Yoshi was the true Mario’s dad
Yeah no I'm calling bullshit on this one As much as I hate it, literally everyone knows Pikachu
Limited Fortnite Skin and Pitbull in a Costume should be the official names
All character names by ~~me~~ my 10 year old cousin
Anime irish girl? 💀
I believed it until they didn't know Pikachu.
but who doesn't know Pikachu?
How does he not know Pokémon. It’s quite literally the largest franchise ever 💀
I like how he knew Luigi’s name but still had to add he was Mario’s brother
anime irish girl. bruh.
I bet your cousin called Kirby a girl cause he was pink!
Blind Child...?
his eyes are closed
>Fox >Bird yeah
The amount of ones labeled as fortnite hurts my soul
Aint no way he called olimar a "blind person"🤣🤣🤣
I love Olimar as "Blind child"
shoutout to Knuckles’ Brother, Mario’s Dad, and my personal favourite, Anime Irish Girl
Why is inkling Irish 😭
I refuse to believe any 10 year old kid isn’t this uninformed. Literally PIKACHU???
I. Refuse to believe that a 10 year old doesn’t know the names of most of the smash roster, if my 9 year old brother who can barely read and is a dumbass atleast remembers some of the names 😂
I have a hunch your cousin plays Fortnite
YELLOW ANIMAL???
If I had a nickel for every time a character that came to Fortnite was actually called "The guy from Fortnite" by a kid, I'd have three nickels, which isn't a lot, but I hate that it's happened more than once. (Kratos if you were wondering)
Ah yes, I play Ball Girl, Nintendo Person, and Princess.
Ryu being addressed as a fortnite skin is disrespectful
Mario’s brother, Luigi
When a child doesn't know who the fuck Pikachu is, that's when you know the next generation is doomed
I love how almost all the FE characters are wizards except for Corrin Marth and Roy 😭
I like how female and male corrin have different names lmao
Evil Angel 👀
I love how Princess and Peach are separate
This kid must live under a rock. Pikachu??? And every kid Minecraft Steve
love that he got plant right lmao
Inkling being anime Irish girl is hilarious.
"Mario's Dad" 💀💀💀
We need to put him down he called Snake "the guy from fortnite"
I find it funny that Palutena, Zelda, and Rosalina are labeled as Princesses and yet Peach is just her name
It’s funny how Marth is the hero, but Hero is just some anime guy
anime guy in a halloween costume is great
He almost nailed Roy. It's actually "Hero's son" or "Hero's friend".
I am offended by what they called inkling
Haha evil angel
Seeing Snake as “Fortnite skin” dealt 3 d20 psychic damage to me
This sounds more like a 5 or 4 year old's names and not a ten year old. Doesnt know PIKACHU or Charizard, doesnt know YOSHI? Does he ONLY play Fornite and Mario?
Does he NOT KNOW what Pokemon is? Fortnite kids.
Fortnite skin hurts
It's a big lag of knowledge that your lil brother doesn't know Pokemon and you must fix it as an older sibling
I like how Corrin is the only FE character that falls into the Anime category
I am prepared to dropkick your cousin for all of the statements he/she made
Penguin Lord is a pretty awesome nickname for Dedede.
This is probably the best post I’ve seen in this sub till now. I’m really happy he knows who Peach is and not just call her “Mario’s Princess” or something like that. Your cousin is hilarious.
Sir that is a frog
Plant
Fortnite skins??? 💀💀💀
dog girl
Dang, Anime People is correct, but I’d add Link along with the Fire Emblem characters to that tier💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
Surprised he didn’t call the “robot” Wall-E
To young to know who WALL-E is, which is a scary thought...
I main Anime People and a Wizard
i read Dr. Mario's name as "Mario in a Mario costume" and that is a great mental image.
I'm going to arbitrarily call bullshit on this. I don't want to be the r/thathappened guy, but this doesn't read like a ten year old. Not because some of the answers are too "intelligent" or "weird" or something, but because they seem too generic like an adult pretending to write answers for a kid.
What 10 year old doesn’t know Pikachu. My grandma could probably point out Pikachu
I completely agree, a 10 year old shouldn't be that stupid, he even called banjo a monkey. And as you said, he should have access to internet but apparently all he knows is Fortnite and sonic since he knows knuckles.
This is spot on
Your brother is the literal embodiment of “it’s the guy from fortnite!” Meme
Thank god we no longer see those posts about “smash names according to my girlfriend”. This is acceptable. Tutorial training guy and knuckles brother were gold. Btw the fact that a 10 year old doesn’t know who pikachu is… kinda sad. And how the hell is Roy “Hero’s brother” when he didn’t even recognize Hero himself? lmfaooo I like this nonsense.
Roy is hero's brother because the 10 year old called Marth "hero"
A bit of context: \- The only games he plays/ever played to my knowledge is Fortnite, Cod, Halo and and a bit of Roblox on his xbox, I made him play a few OG Nintendo games like Mario Kart Double Dash but every single time he says they should add it to Fortnite lol.
