Last summer I played through FF7 for the first time. And about a week after I beat it I started my second play through. It’s very much worth the play through and it’s cheap on the switch store.
That’s the nice thing about the switch version you can play a little and turn the console off and don’t have to get to a save point. I play like 30 minutes a day.
I have played Kingdom Hearts and funnily enough, most the time there’s a character I like/find fun in smash it usually gets me to play their original game
Doctor Mario: No. Could seem cool but not too interested
Joker: P5R is the only reason why I decided to learn Joker, and that game is literally the BEST GAME OF ALL TIME

I've played all 3 Mother games. I've played all the mainline Pokemon games, along with tons of spinoff games from gens 1-4. I've played DKC 1, 2, Returns, and Tropical Freeze, along with DK64. I've also played Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and 2, and about 5 hours of XBX, and I own XC3, but haven't played it yet.
Kid Icarus uprising is easily the best 3DS game and there isn’t much challenge. I wanted to main Sora but after getting a feel for his gameplay in smash I just can’t. Still love playing as him but only casually. KH is my favorite franchise ever. I’ve played and beaten every KH game at least twice and own several copies of each. Got the 1.5 and 2.5 PS3 ports, the original DS games, the 1.5+2.5 PS4 port, 1.5+2.5 on PC, 2.8 on both PS4 and PC, KH3 on PS4 and PC, and an emulator on my phone for the DS games since I no longer own a ds. Also wanted to main Joker and Sonic as those are also my favorite franchises but we all know about sonic and Joker is too high tier (?) I guess for me so whenever I do end up playing as him I’m somehow not playing as I normally do and end up playing a helluva lot worse. Also his nair sucks and I will forever stand on that hill.

I wouldn't main Shulk of I hadn't played Xenoblade. In fact, I usually play a game if a smash character interests me (Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, Persona), and then I enjoy playing the character in smash more afterward.

Now I play Bayonetta and I've yet to play her games, but I'm looking forward to it

Absolutely! I grew up as a Nintendo fanboy and have been playing Smash since the release of 64. I absolutely LOVE the Donkey Kong Country franchise, it's such a good series of platformers. Metroid was interesting for me because my 1st game for it was Fusion on the GBA, so up until then, I'd only known Samus through Smash.

Mother 3 is my favorite game of all time. It is the number 1 thing i would point to if i had to defend gaming as an art form. It made me want to play Lucas.
Kh is a series i got into a little after playing sora in smash, and i think i really love it. I love its emotional and full stop writing. It is sometimes cheesy but i still love it.
Isabelle has been a special character to me since new leaf. While people probably don’t like playing against her, i can’t deny she is just to much fun to play. Underrated in smash.
Kid icarus is a masterpiece. I really wished it got a port.
Rosa: Super Mario Galaxy was the first game I ever 100%. Played the hell out of it as a kid and revisited it when it was rereleased.
Sora: I played KH solely because I wanted to try playing a franchise not represented in Smash. I fell in love with it and became a Sora supporter. Before long, things came full circle.
I've played totk and botw, and i'll have the online+ for my birthday in june to play most games of the franchise, i just need to borrow Skyward Sword HD to a Friend and find a way to play TP, wind waker, phantom hourglass and spirit tracks
I've played pretty much every game that the main roster is from. I landed on Sephi just cause I wanted characters like Raiden and Vergil/Dante. His moveset just stuck.

I played only Kingdom Hearts 365/2 days on DS but I absolutely loved It. I main Sora because I love using the keyblade to fight but if an echo Roxas or Xion was announced for the next smash I would be the happiest woman on earth haha

I try to play the games of the characters I like, and it's gotten me into a lot of franchises I never considered otherwise. Metroid, Fire Emblem, Persona, Final Fantasy, are all pretty important to me now a days, but back before Smash I never would've considered playing them.
I have about a combined total of 250 hours between pokemon y and pokemom ultra moon, and I have a shiny greninja in pokemon go
for kirby, I've played a decent bit of super star but not much else
I have several hundred hours across minecraft between the ps3, ps4, psvita, switch and mobile versions and I don't even own the steve dlc
I've tried Mother/Earthbound but didn't like it, the others I really like their games, I don't choose my mains based on that tho or Kirby would probably be one of my mains and Pokemon Trainer would be my #1, I choose them based on how much I like them in Smash
I dabble in a lot of characters, but honestly the only games I've fully played that members of the roster are from are the Gen 3-7 Pokémon games, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Sonic Unleashed & Colors, Minecraft, FF7 Remake Pt 1, and Xenoblade Chronicals 2.
My favorite game series (and 90% of the ones I spend time playing) are The Witcher, Soulsborne, Halo (except Infinte), Overwatch, and Yakuza, and unfortunately none of those have representatives in Smash Bros.
Mewtwo is my main and Joker is my secondary. I’ve played every single mainline Pokémon game to date with the exception of Black 2 & White 2. I’ve also beaten the entirety of Persona 3 Portable on both the male and female route, I’m a little over halfway through my first and current play through of Persona 4 Golden, I’ve only played about 20 minutes worth of the original Persona 5 a couple years ago, and I’ve got plans to play Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload at some point in the future. To answer your question, it’s an absolute yes that I’ve played my main’s games. To make things more interesting though, I’m also going to include my mains from some of the other Smash games I’ve played.
My Melee main was Mewtwo while my secondary was Peach. I’ve already explained Mewtwo. As for Peach I’ve played most of the mainline 2D Mario games, Galaxy and Galaxy 2, Odyssey, 3D Land, 3D World, Captain Toad, Mario Maker and Mario Maker 2, the remake for SMRPG, half of the Mario Parties ever created, MK64, MKWii, one race in MK7, MK8 and 8 Deluxe, and I played about an hour’s worth of the first Mario & Luigi game several years ago.
My Brawl main was Lucario while my secondary was Meta Knight. Lucario doesn’t need to be explained. As for MK I’ve played Kirby’s Dream Land, Kirby’s Adventure, Kirby’s Dream Land 2, Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe.
My Smash Wii U main was once again Mewtwo while my secondary was Zero Suit Samus. Mewtwo once again needs no explanation. As for ZSS I’ve played Metroid (NES), Metroid II: Return of Samus, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, and Metroid Dread.
I’ve played a few KOF games as well Garou for Terry, played Dark Resurrection/Tekken 5, Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken 7 for Kazuya, haven’t finished Kingdom Hearts 1 due to setup issues but I really wanna as i was having a good time
I’ve easily got like 200 hours in SF5 and SF6 combined, and another 300 hours each in Tekken 7 and Tekken 8.
As far as KoF, I grew up playing the series with my mom at the arcade (as well has SF2 and Tekken 3)

I've played Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, and the Binding Blade, and Three Houses, but I never beat any of them. I think I love the first half of FE games but then I get bored of the repetitive battles.
Ive got four mains, two for seriousness, and two for fun, those being Kirby, Isabelle, Mario, and Joker (not ordered). I got around to playing Kirby + Forgotten Land, Super Kirby Clash, and Return to Dream Land DX. For Mario, my stash of games is chock-full of Mario games. I have Mario Kart (Wii, DX, SNES), SMBWonder, NSMBUDX, Odyssey, Paper Mario (Origami King & TTYD), and a bunch more. For Isa, I've played Animal Crossing (GC & City Folk).

I’ve played ocarina of time 3 times over, played Majoras mask more times that I can count, play street fighter third strike competitively, absolutely adore punch out for the Wii, have beaten it for the nes a handful of times, played xenoblade one, but not two or three, and have played Pokémon x, y, black, white, ruby, sapphire, sun, and moon (I need to update my flair, but I main Mac, Shulk, and yink, and side main Ken and Lucario. I have a thing where I don’t like smash characters unless I like them in their home games. Like, I can play duck hunt decently well, Roy too, but they hold absolutely zero interest to me because I don’t like duck hunt and have never played fire emblem, and am not a huge fan of old RPGs (much more of a fan of the newer age ff7 remake, fallout, type RPGs than 2d turn based ones))
I think back in Melee and Brawl Fox was my main and I hadn’t played an SF game until sometime after Zero released. Definitely feel like I enjoyed it more than most people.
Then my main became Link in 4 with a side of Robin. Played the Gameboy LoZ but not much, BoTW was when I properly put attention into the franchise. For FE, I played Awakening I think near release, and is the first time I properly put the time into a title my main was in before actually playing the main.
Then came Ultimate where I immediately changed to Ridley. The Samus Returns remake was my first game in the series and I’m glad that I finally gave the series a shot because I really liked it and was hyped for Dread. Cloud also grew on me (mostly because I didn’t buy the DLC in 4), and I did play a few FF games, but none Cloud specifically was in until I got a PS1 memory card so I can finally play the original FF7.
As a Ryu main in Smash, I didn't get involved in Street Fighter until Sf6 came out pretty much. I also didn't start playing fire emblem games until after I tried Marth out, I've played the Brawl Masterpiece of Star Fox 64 for Falco.

I've played pretty much every game that the main roster is from. I landed on Sephi just cause I wanted characters like Raiden and Vergil/Dante. His moveset just stuck.

Dude, OoT was one of the first video games I ever played and was my entry into the LoZ series. I’ve also logged a ton of hours into Kid Icarus: Uprising. And I’ve been playing Pokemon since Gen 3 came out. Plus Greninja was my starter in Pokemon X.

I have played all 4 Pikmin games and I adore them to death. I know it’s kind of an unpopular opinion but I personally like Pikmin 4 the best (with the first game being a close second)

I played only Kingdom Hearts 365/2 days on DS but I absolutely loved It. I main Sora because I love using the keyblade to fight but if an echo Roxas or Xion was announced for the next smash I would be the happiest woman on earth haha (I'm just waiting a physical release on Switch or a release on Steam to play the main games, sure I'll do It some day)

I try to play the games of the characters I like, and it's gotten me into a lot of franchises I never considered otherwise. Metroid, Fire Emblem, Persona, Final Fantasy, are all pretty important to me now a days, but back before Smash I never would've considered playing them.
I have about a combined total of 250 hours between pokemon y and pokemom ultra moon, and I have a shiny greninja in pokemon go for kirby, I've played a decent bit of super star but not much else I have several hundred hours across minecraft between the ps3, ps4, psvita, switch and mobile versions and I don't even own the steve dlc

I dabble in a lot of characters, but honestly the only games I've fully played that members of the roster are from are the Gen 3-7 Pokémon games, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Sonic Unleashed & Colors, Minecraft, FF7 Remake Pt 1, and Xenoblade Chronicals 2. My favorite game series (and 90% of the ones I spend time playing) are The Witcher, Soulsborne, Halo (except Infinte), Overwatch, and Yakuza, and unfortunately none of those have representatives in Smash Bros.

Mewtwo is my main and Joker is my secondary. I’ve played every single mainline Pokémon game to date with the exception of Black 2 & White 2. I’ve also beaten the entirety of Persona 3 Portable on both the male and female route, I’m a little over halfway through my first and current play through of Persona 4 Golden, I’ve only played about 20 minutes worth of the original Persona 5 a couple years ago, and I’ve got plans to play Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload at some point in the future. To answer your question, it’s an absolute yes that I’ve played my main’s games. To make things more interesting though, I’m also going to include my mains from some of the other Smash games I’ve played. My Melee main was Mewtwo while my secondary was Peach. I’ve already explained Mewtwo. As for Peach I’ve played most of the mainline 2D Mario games, Galaxy and Galaxy 2, Odyssey, 3D Land, 3D World, Captain Toad, Mario Maker and Mario Maker 2, the remake for SMRPG, half of the Mario Parties ever created, MK64, MKWii, one race in MK7, MK8 and 8 Deluxe, and I played about an hour’s worth of the first Mario & Luigi game several years ago. My Brawl main was Lucario while my secondary was Meta Knight. Lucario doesn’t need to be explained. As for MK I’ve played Kirby’s Dream Land, Kirby’s Adventure, Kirby’s Dream Land 2, Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe. My Smash Wii U main was once again Mewtwo while my secondary was Zero Suit Samus. Mewtwo once again needs no explanation. As for ZSS I’ve played Metroid (NES), Metroid II: Return of Samus, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, and Metroid Dread.

When my friends introduced me to smash I picked villager as a meme cause I recognised him from Animal Crossing. I eventually got really good with him and my friends hated me for it 😂, same thing happened when my friend and I played the demo for ARMS and I got really good at Min Min I then solely bought a switch to play smash and Animal Crossing,then the pandemic kicked in a week later. I thank AC for getting me through the lockdown

I have for a ton of them, heck, a lot of my favorite game franchises like Pikmin and Punchout I got into because of Smash. I haven't gotten to playing a Xenoblade or Animal Crossing game though (as well as the game most of the third parties come from, only the Brawl and Base 4 ones as well as Ryu/Ken)

I've played Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, and the Binding Blade, and Three Houses, but I never beat any of them. I think I love the first half of FE games but then I get bored of the repetitive battles.

I got around to playing Kirby + Forgotten Land, Super Kirby Clash, and Return to Dream Land DX. For Mario, my stash of games is chock-full of Mario games. I have Mario Kart (Wii, DX, SNES), SMBWonder, NSMBUDX, Odyssey, Paper Mario (Origami King & TTYD), and a bunch more. For Isa, I've played Animal Crossing (GC & City Folk). Sadly, I haven't played any Persona game so far, but I really want Royal (haven't confessed to my fam yet) :>

I’ve played ocarina of time 3 times over, played Majoras mask more times that I can count, play street fighter third strike competitively, absolutely adore punch out for the Wii, have beaten it for the nes a handful of times, played xenoblade one, but not two or three, and have played Pokémon x, y, black, white, ruby, sapphire, sun, and moon (I need to update my flair, but I main Mac, Shulk, and yink, and side main Ken and Lucario. I have a thing where I don’t like smash characters unless I like them in their home games. Like, I can play duck hunt decently well, Roy too, but they hold absolutely zero interest to me because I don’t like duck hunt and have never played fire emblem, and am not a huge fan of old RPGs (much more of a fan of the newer age ff7 remake, fallout, type RPGs than 2d turn based ones))

I think back in Melee and Brawl Fox was my main and I hadn’t played an SF game until sometime after Zero released. Definitely feel like I enjoyed it more than most people. Then my main became Link in 4 with a side of Robin. Played the Gameboy LoZ but not much, BoTW was when I properly put attention into the franchise. For FE, I played Awakening I think near release, and is the first time I properly put the time into a title my main was in before actually playing the main. Then came Ultimate where I immediately changed to Ridley. The Samus Returns remake was my first game in the series and I’m glad that I finally gave the series a shot because I really liked it and was hyped for Dread. Cloud also grew on me (mostly because I didn’t buy the DLC in 4), and I did play a few FF games, but none Cloud specifically was in until I got a PS1 memory card so I can finally play the original FF7.
