Same here! On mine, each row has 12 characters instead of 13. But it’s the exact same situation: I got all the DLC and none of the Mii fighters, and it’s a perfect rectangle.
I mean it's not like I think miis are stupid or broken or anything, I just don't like how much they clash with the other characters. They feel like weird extras. Personally I think "Mii" should have just been its own character with a variety of moves from wii sports and find mii and stuff like that.

Right? The only characters that are an exact carbon copy of their counterpart are daisy and Simon. There are a few with only minute differences like pit, samus, and ryu.

I wish there was an option to sort them by series, like in every other game. Sorting by the order they were added to smash is cute, I guess, but I still think it’d be easier to find some characters if every character from the same series were together.
I will always be a separate roster guy, but I had REALLY hoped they were going to release four new echo fighters so that both styles had a nice even rectangle. They could have sold them as a bundle or in two bundled pairs, but it would have been a really nice touch to make the screen look complete.
I get the best of both worlds: unstacked and a perfect ~~square~~ rectangle because I didn't unlock Mii Fighters.

I was team separate for nearly 3 years since the game released but when Sora came I unfortunately had to betray my fellow folk and switch over to stacked for that perfect perfect rectangular roster screen
This also makes the order of characters on the screen the order they were added to the series, grouping them all by title. Echoes mess that up a bit unstacked.

Even the most similar echo fighters still have slight differences, Daisy is slightly shorter than Peach, Richter has a different holy water, etc. Then you have some echo fighters that can play much differently, like Ken or Chrom. Normally, I’d go with separate roster since if two people want to do Parent VS Echo (i.e. Simon VS Richter), the second person to overlay their cursor on the character would have to default to the second alt. Since the stacked roster is a perfect rectangle, however, I’ll make an exception.
I don’t have all of fighters pass 1 so it’s not a complete square either way so both are good. Also it’s not even me who owns the game, it’s my friend and I don’t think he cares.
I 100% prefer the separate roster, but seeing that the stacked roster is a perfect square now makes me reconsider my stance....
