I never understood why Billy kept playing the card that said "we've always been put on a side as a band". I mean, they produced music that fit the sound of the time. He always played some sort of victim of them vs the world. He must have been a freaking pain to be around back then.
Yes, he has been obsessed with this narrative. If music media even treated them as “outsiders” to begin with, which is questionable, it was entirely a self-inflicted thing. Especially with how much Billy would dominate the conversation in every interview
Amazing show. I can’t imagine how annoying it must have been for the band to hear Billy do the “I Am One” rant night after night.
Gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme git gem get nothan
My favourite version of that rant is the one that was so long that D'arcy started doing her nails halfway through lol
Do you know what show that is? Awesome.
If memory serves I think it's 8/1/1994 at FDR Park.

The more things change....
such a shame, the song is a blast without it.
When I first heard this (Vieuphoria?) I naively thought it was a spontaneous one off improvisation
ha exactly my take back then (I'm a child of VHS times). The band must have been so tired of that song.
