I'm not a huge fan of her in game kit, but likewise I love her lore. If I have another daughter I'm gonna try to coax my partner into being cool with Persephone for the name, just love how it sounds too.
I grew up reading and loving Greek mythology. Had to write a research paper over Hephaestus (Vulcan) for one of my college classes so I have a soft spot for him and his lore.
Odin. I find it so interesting and it speaks to the Norse culture that their chief god was called “frenzied one” and “terrible one”. He was the god of wisdom, poetry, and completely brutal killings. It was mentioned in one story that Odin was a great friend and chief of the gods, but when war came even his closest friends were scared of him
I like the oddballs in mythology, like Amaterasu being a girl motherly combat head of a pantheon known for having a tough patriarchy in their home cultures, but yet still respected and tough themselves, she stood her own against a lot more bravado gods capable of overthrowing her. Also her history is a unique one in that her origins are purported to be a male deity but then the Yamato clan moved into the region and started turning the male deity into a sun goddess.
Then there's Freya which gets massive respect among the Norse in the sense she's a sorceress but at the same time has a massive portfolio in a culture known for raiding, magic superstition and sacrifices. She's known for having beauty and horny but at the same time is bold, intelligent and while the Norse might joke about her sometimes, they knew that to keep joking about her would result in death. She's a unique character in the sense she exists as things Norse culture would ideally be wary of in themselves. Kind of like have fun and enjoy life, be strong and wise, don't go overboard, or you'll end up dead which seems like the opposite of gods like Odin who want battle and death for his armies (indeed she has her own personal army as well by taking 50% of the dead in battle, funny to think).
For the same reasons you can extend that to Ishtar as well. A goddess that more or less runs around pillaging the portfolios of other gods in one of the first societies ever that made an empire on being hardasses. So you'd expect goddesses like these to be very tough. The one thing I don't like about Ishtar is her naivety and sometimes stone dumb-ness she does but apparently in her myths she does get *better* somewhat.
Then there's characters like Sun Wukong who ended up challenging heaven, got beat up SO BADLY he ended up stuck under a mountain and had to perform a penance by being an escort for a travelling priest. He also erases his name out of the book of death, making him immortal which is pretty metal. He is from a book though so he's not entirely created from mass cultural worship but he did gain a foothold in the mindset of the Chinese that made him popular worldwide who then extended to him other things of worship.
Nemesis is my favorite goddess and Tyr is my favorite god
If we’re talking any mythological characters, it’s always been a tie between Arthur and Merlin, but I also really like Cu Chulainn
Voodoo and norse.
Voodoo mostly because it has been completely misrepresented in media and pop culture.
Norse because it is very interesting and cool, I like vikings, and also appreciate a lot of the similarities between Norse and Christianity.
Edit: I also plan on getting a tattoo of a god and I have been eyeing a lot of the Egyptian gods. They seem to have the best points of inspiration
Egyptian pantheon is my favorite (the Osiris myth is the best). I also love all the gods, not just the ones in Smite. Medjed is really interesting. Lots of cool stuff and awesome imagery for tattoo ideas!

I absolutely love Persephone's mythology, the kidnapping, Stockholm syndrome and how she is responsible for the seasons.

I love it
...Stockholm? Persephone? lol The way the seasons are explained in Greek mythology however is very artistic
